Doesn’t seem like much of a trade off to me. QI seems like the obvious choice, but with the possibility of CIG later nerfing the QI’s speed, maneuverability to a much greater extent to compensate for that QI device, I’m a little worried. For the Long game perspective, maybe the best option is to just go with the base Guardian, pick up the $10 CCU to the QI version and just sit on it to see how they both “evolve” with CIG future balance passes.
QI is "quite" a no brainer, just keep in mind the power cost of the QED, wich mean, the base gardian will have more power "cells" in weapons, shield & engines. but i'm a support guy, so i picked the QI.
Three power draw for the QI is massive when you only have 2s1 power plants. That plus the extra speed and the base model was a no-brainer choice for me. It's my long-awaited non-cargo Avenger upgrade.
Got the QI. $10 for a QED that only has any impact on the ship really if you turn it on. Means I can use it like a standard Guardian 99% of the time and if the day comes that I need it I would rather have it and have to turn off 1 of my guns to use it than to simply not have it. It feels like a no brainer to me tbh.
Something I've not seen anyone mention is whether or not they have the same size fuel tanks. I feel like in the long run, that will be what they make different about them.
I picked up the Normal Guardian with store credit and purchased both Warbond CCUs for the Guardian and Guardian QI to see how they change until invictus.
I got the regular one in the expectation of cgi continuing their assinie track record with ship sales. Either the regular one gonna get another s2 shield to put up with the vanguard or the qi is gonna get nerfed. " Here's two identical ships but one is just better" isn't gonna last, they have to majot pros and cons like amongst the vangards
CIG even show the ares being shot down by the guardian in the commercial, which was just nerfed before the guardian sale. This is so cheap, I hate that those scummy sales tactics work so well. And yeah, once the next better ship comes out, the guardian will be nerfed.
Picked up the QI, its a no brainer, I will really only use the dampener in my org or when pirating with people but otherwise yea they're the same thing and I love flying it
It doesn't make sense to me that it's tougher than the vanguards given their reputation, at least as I understand it. Also I don't understand why they would make two versions of a ship with one having a clear advantage over the other. I get the QED power issue, but it's still an option the base doesn't have with very little downside when not in use.
I mean isn't the major difference of the Black and Blue (besides cargo space for prison pods) the missiles? The speeds are no different, main weapons aside from missiles are the same (make sense since you want to take bounties alive), and Blue even gains a remote turret on top of the dampener? I mean we dont have a lot to compare with but I dont think theres any reason to nerf the Qi or buff the standard. If anything the Q/A suggests the Qi would have "better quality power plants".
The fact that they're so similar is kinda criminal. They should just release one model with an empty Qi competent slot. The power will end up being the difference, but still. Compare this to the Avenger Titan vs Warlock. It gives up it's entire interior for the EMP.
its not any good in pvp, for those looking for comparision, its has about 50% more dps than a gladuis, but half the turnrate. the F7 has 130% more dps than the glad and about 75% the turnrate. so the guardian is: Meduium fighter dps Heavy fighter turnrate (bad) yeah this thing would be interesting if its turnrates were a round what meduim fights are at (50s) but as it stands its just a really pretty and irrelevant ship

This is by far the smartest thing I've heard said regarding which to buy.
Bingo.

@@Charlouf_ QI has the same amount of energy for weapons cuz when the qi is of it uses 0 power
This is the way
Very useful! I didn't realise they had the same rack hard points but different default loadouts. I just assumed the Qi had less missiles.
Dude this is why I follow your channel. Actually doing the research and creating useful information for us. Awesome dude.
Really cool ship. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it, but until it settles down I won't be melting any of my current hangar to acquire one.
Thanks for this video. Short and straight to the point.
Thanks, got the QI and your video validated my choice lol.
Best video on UA-cam for this, thanks

Oh wow. I assumed there would be less interior space…
You can fit 4-6 SCU in there, unsecured of course. Get a Pulse in there too. It’s pretty sweet.
I picked up the Normal Guardian with store credit and purchased both Warbond CCUs for the Guardian and Guardian QI to see how they change until invictus.
Black, white, and red. You can't beat this color scheme.

get the base, with a CCU to the QI
Thank you!! I was curious. CIG will nerf them, and they made the QI not too much more so people would buy the "better one"

@Casey093 Just like how the Idris was destroyed by the Polaris
I think this will be my first craft I'll farm for when it come out in game's shop :)

someone in their studios is fan of the TIE interceptor XD
Ballistic QI ftw.
This is the only way I see it "better".
CIG is going to nerf the Qi or buff the standard version after the sale. They don't just put a dampener on a ship and leave it be.
I hope you're wrong, I love my QI
I mean isn't the major difference of the Black and Blue (besides cargo space for prison pods) the missiles? The speeds are no different, main weapons aside from missiles are the same (make sense since you want to take bounties alive), and Blue even gains a remote turret on top of the dampener?

I was thinking the same, but the power management is a thing i guess?
They pushed it so fast for sales, the qi they prob will remove something after you can not refund
Definitely going to try this out but I'm not giving CIG another dollar. Tired of nerfs after sales. Just going to melt something else to get it.
I'm going to be so frustrated when CIG nerfs the QI. I'm trying to steel my heart.
What about quantum fuel?
untill we get tier components(from crafting++), guardian qi with dampener active, will be weak.
The fact that they're so similar is kinda criminal. They should just release one model with an empty Qi competent slot. The power will end up being the difference, but still. Compare this to the Avenger Titan vs Warlock. It gives up it's entire interior for the EMP.

I think the QI should have had 0 (zero) missiles. Not much of an edge but its something.
290 dollars, tax included for a heavy fighter seems to expensive to me. 😢
I'm not taxed on this in my state, feels good.
@matthewbrady5274 well I live in Denmark and we are taxed 25% on top of the price you pay in the states...
QI is on a level with vanguard warden.
