Ready to search for the ghost of CLARA BOW?
Or will we dig up something else?
Tonight our dauntless podcaster / ghosthunter George Hatfield has returned! Yes, it's another episode of STRANGE RESORT... And he has brought us a chilling tale of revenge... emerging from the pages of Stephen King's short story: "Dolan's Cadillac" and served up, nice and cold, in a true crime podcast format... (but as to whether it's really true is up to you...)
The original story is featured in King's collection NIGHTMARES AND DREAMSCAPES... and our retelling is a combination of summary, fan-fiction, with just the slightest hint of commentary... Oh, and a special surprise guest: Clara Bow -- silent film star of the silver screen! Enjoy!
Music:
"Devastation and Revenge" by Kevin Macleod
"Sinister" by Anno Domini Beats
"No. 6 in My Dreams" by Esther Abrami
Some images are generated by MidJourney AI (with a bit of editing from Mr. Hatfield)

For someone that really enjoyed Dolan’s Cadillac, this was a nice addition to that tale… great job.
this channel is SO UNDERRATED I love what you do with these stories
george hatfield is my favourite podcaster... despite his occasional stuttering
I wonder what happened to that huge house up in Seattle? Rose red I think it was called?
Okay, I literally clapped my hands when George announced he was heading to Desperation, Nevada. That's going to be a great visit. Tak.
What could go wrong?
I am loving this series. Two stories that I think could make good Strange Resort episodes are, Mrs. Todd's Shortcut & Uncle Otto's Truck.
Mrs. Todd makes a cameo in the “Survivor Type” episode 🎉
Oh he could definitely do "Mrs Todd's Shortcut" as true crime, missing rich woman thing.
Glad to see George made it off the island 😄 love the tie ins to Balazar and Ginelli. The Stephen King crime family.
i listened to this whole podcast thinking this was real…! my first time here ..wow!
I love the fact that Hatfield is so fucking eager to forget about water for a while, his next Strange Resort podcast takes place in a *desert.*
Wonderful video as always! I loved this story (I thought it was the best one in 'Nightmares and Dreamscapes', honestly), so this was a real treat!
That dude, Spicoli, looks so happy.
Clara Bow had a delicate condition of the heart 😌❤️🥰
"A prime suspect immediately popped into my mind." The tonal shift and punchline made me almost fall out of my chair.
LOL That's the response I was hoping for :)
I remember back when bootleg burned Dvd’s were a thing…I knew a guy. He knew I was a Stephen King fan and gave me the heads up on this one…now that I think of it, this might be the first SK film that I personally owned (as a family we had The Shining and Stand By Me growing up)
Serve it cold 💔
My favorite short story from King. I’ve often thought about that Caddy in the ground, and about the day it would eventually collapse. This was a really fun listen! Well done!
Thanks! As you can tell, we've wondered the same thing!
Do "The Road Virus Heads North", one of King's truly superlative stories.
Yes, that story scared the Hell out of me!
“Straight from the pages of Edgar Allan Poe” wouldn’t have it any other way
I like the fact that Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Dolan's Cadillac take place in the same universe. I also like to think that Spicoli knew what Robinson had done, and didn't tell anyone, partly out of sympathy, and partly because he thought it was awesome.
Such an interesting & creative take on a fantastic simple and quiet horror story! i love this one because it feels so real, and I love all the additional little details! I feel like these more mundane non-supernatural stories get overlooked a bit when people talk about King's work, so it's such fun when you feature one!
Glad you enjoyed it! This (and Survivor Type) are my favorite non-supernatural tales by King.
Hey George, remember that old hotel in Colorado that burned down back in the 70s? Now some corporation called the True Knot owns the land it was on.
Thank you again friend ❤
Glad he survived the island...😮
And I like the mix of history and fiction with "IT" (why didn't I think of that?)
Whoever you are keep it up... these videos are getting better and better.... fantastic job
Thank you so much 😀
Great story. Can't wait for Desperation.
Great story! (Like how you have a pic of the DeMeo crew on there…a real life horror story!)
I loved the story, the movie worked too, this adds to the universe brilliantly. And the way you add meta to your stories is amazing.
Loved this one! Can you do the moving finger? That story still Haunts me, And I have always wondered how it fits in with It?
This was fun...can't wait for Desperation!
I'm looking forward to this so much!!!
Love your channel. Maybe one day Stephen King will come across this channel and maybe because of that you'll get to work with him.
That would be amazing! (Unless he visited the channel and hates it... but even that would be a fun story to tell!)
Nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazing as always :)
thanks for covering this story. because of all the dramatizations he's been in, i sometimes am only able to picture characters from stephen king stories as rob lowe...
This is great. Really really good.
Here’s to you Mrs. Robinson!
LOL
Great work and great content
5:23 is this It? Are we finally getting an It episode? Please please let us have an Derry episode. Another banger of a video tho!
These videos really are something else. Great job again.🫡
Crouch end would be a good one to do. Great work!
Love the Lovecraftian imagery in that story. We'll definitely get to it someday!
13:54 - Uhhhhh... George? Georgie? Dont fold any paper boats...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
I love these theories... And I have a pet theory about Pennywise and the Outsider... one I hope I'll eventually get to share on the channel.
This has been one of my favorite Stephen King story since I first read it and 7:00 or 8th grade. And it's surprises me because it's one that so many people have no idea exists. I mean I can't imagine what I would do to somebody that hurt someone I love, but I'm pretty sure I'm just tweaked enough in the head too. Do something like this man did. My favorite part is after dude drives into the pit and he's screaming to be let out and offering money and all this other shit and then he finally realizes nope nothing he says can get him out of it. Great
Always such a pleasure👍❤
Very merry christmas greetings from Sweden🎄
So glad you found our channel! Merry Christmas from the U.S. (and Castle Rock in particular!)
Just discovered your channel. Loving it!
Welcome aboard!
Does anybody else notice Clara can be seen whenever Hatfield is at the Ranch?
You are the first person to mention this :)
@@stephenkingbookclub1054 Didn't exactly notice until the Tom Gordon episode. Then checked back on this one and noticed more and more in each scene at the ranch.
This is a fantastic approach - excellent, instant subscribe!
Welcome aboard!
Just discovered this channel...I am really impressed.
Glad you found us!
Excellent!
These are great! Thanks for making them.
17:44 You are my hero, and nothing can change my mind.
Well done. Thank you.
Have you thought of taking a look at the missing or dead cases in Derry?
Derry... That quiet town in Maine? Hmm... We'll tell George to look into it. Thanks for the tip!
LOve the references on this and all others.
Love this so much! You are an amazing story teller!
Glad you enjoyed it!
great job!!!
What a great story and a fitting follow up to Dolan's Cadillac. And an intriguing teaser about Desperation.
Spicoli graduated?? Righteous bucks!
Spiccoli graduated from ridgemont high, must have been fast times
Damn. This is awesome. Cant wait to see you do one on The Body.
DESPERATION next???????? yay
Should be fun!
Damn man, this is brilliant. This is one of my favorite short stories and I was wondering how you were gonna pull this off. Great job!!
Great sounds and cool demeanor add to effect.
Oh my heck! I LOVED this story!!
HA! This is cool. I'm a big Stephen King nut and I have to check out more of these!
Sounds like you've come to the right place!
Revenge is a dish best eaten cold and with your hands.
Like leftover pizza!
Anyone else getting the vibe of a more redeemable Walter White?
Absolutely fascinating! I enjoyed the slow burn of Dolan's Cadillac in the book. Great job
I wonder if Mr. King has a side hustle as an, erm, fixer? ...
I would say a good place for the podcast would be Derry, Maine.
Excellent suggestion... we're packing George's bags right now!
Hmmmm . . . though sparsely traveled, how would Mr. Robinson have known when Dolan would be coming along?
YESSSS I LOVE THIS STORY ❤❤❤ TYSM ❤❤❤
This is one of my favorite novelas❤
It's a great read... Definitely one of my favorites of his non-supernatural tales.
There is also a movie based on this story. Christian Slater played Dolan.
This stuff is so b*tchin. I am so so soooooo happy I found this page.
"Scream as loud as 8 sticks of dynamite."
That other teacher or coworker sure looks precisely like a guy I know in Spearfish. S.D. , his name is Soup.
13:32 isn’t he in The Dark Tower? 0:
spicoli made me laugh. wile coyote killed me.
He'd be a good role model for later generations, though.
Pick up a set of Chattering Teeth, just in case.
LOL!
Who else is very surprised they have not found more dead bodies in Lake Meade?
Karma sometimes needs a fist. My Name is Earl.
Have some things id like to talk to you about, Narrator .
Yes?
Find Rage, and narrate it for us, please sir?
I'll pay for the project, just Let me know a price
@@BIGMANbrokmills LOL, I'll tell you what... For every ten paid members we get on the channel, I'll add a Rage selection for Members only! We're at 7 people right now, so only three more to go!
The Beloved Third Grade Teacher
It was a big hit.
Oh my God. I'm so sorry.
Well, if we assess that the book took place around the same time my dripping fangs it was released, then it's been a good 25 years eat your throat since Tak was buried under that mining explosion, so unless somehow the narrator wants to bloody meat and scream scream dig up a collapsed mine he should be safe. Unless Tak it's been working it's way back to the surface, somehow Tak, ever since. And I'm a wolf.
Tak.
LOL! Yikes!
Hahahahaha J. Spicoli.
Maybe they found Jimmy Hoffa's body.
Oh, come on we all know Jimmy Hoffa is under the Renaissance Center😂
Sounds like an accident to me
Good one wasn't it
Not one of your better ones, I'm sorry. Since I'm in the minority, it doesn't seem like you have much to worry about.
I appreciate your feedback. Still experimenting with each video... which ones / styles have done better for you as a viewer?
@@stephenkingbookclub1054 It's personal preference only. I like the ones that stick closer to what's in the book. This one must not have been too awful bad; I listened to the whole thing, after all. lol. And like I said, I'm in the minority. Everyone else here seems to love it. 😁
Channel-started out good... print(str_getting boring)== unsubbing.
