Happy Senior Citizens Day! I am 21, with 55 years' experience. In other words, I'm younger than spring, but my body is older than dirt.😂 Have a wonderful day!
Hi! Being a senior is all about the discounts! Arthritis at 35 ended my career early, so I've made penny pinching an art! The pears... I LOVE the pears.
Hi Pat, at first I wasn't into the pears but when I saw what you did I just have to make one. You are so inspiring. I am 73 with the mindset of about 23. I just don't feel old.😀
So silly am I, I keep looking at your joy, joy, joy, quilt and thinking, gosh, that looks familiar. It looks familiar because I have the book and all of the fabrics picked out for Heaven and Nature Sing in one of my project bags. I’ll get to it, eventually. Lol
I made the Pear Quilt in memory of my Grandma earlier this year. She had Pear trees and I would pick them and she would can them. Sooooo good. I made it just like Joanna’s and I didn’t want to do the checker border but I did and I am so glad I did…really makes it so darling.
Love your pears and loved how you sped up the action of putting them on your design wall and the music! Got a chuckle out of it. Smile and a laugh is a good way to start a day.
I am an Idaho girl and the Spud Bars are the best!!!! They also have a ‘Spuddy Buddy’ potato mascot - the Spud Bar has sort of a marshmallow nougat and a coconut topping 🤎🥔🤎
Hi Pat. I didn't know if I would like the pears or not, but I do they are fun, I'm glad you are making them. Everything looks awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Senior Citizen Day! By age, 74, I am considered a senior citizen but my mind and heart do not identify that way yet😂. Watching you put the pears up I laughed. If we could only move that fast how much we could accomplish😅
It was fun today going through projects. We all will not be making state quilts but we will still get ideas . Yes I have made 5 log cabins,king-lap great color impact to give none quilters . Pam
Senior Citizen...Hmmm? As far as discounts I take them with Thanks because on limited income everything helps. My brain and other attitudes are much younger. Sometimes my body reminds me how old I am but I try to ignore it. I'm looking forward to your states quilt. Maybe I can get some inspiration from you to put together my California fabrics into something. Thank you for all your tips and inspiration. 💜🪡🎶
Great video...another quick and easy cake recipe is 123 cake in a mug. Combine one angel food cake mix and one regular cake mix (play with combining flavors). Then in a large mug add 3 Tbsp cake mix, 2 Tbsp water and microwave 1 minute. No need to grease the mug. Top with whip cream or any kind of icing or just fruit and ice cream. The perfect one serving cake.
The State prints (like Mississippi) my grma and her sisters used Tri-Chem back in the day lol painted them. A few yrs ago my step mom gave me the blocks , I made a quilt, quilted it and sent it back. ... but the fabric pens would work. 😊
I enjoyed all your project updates. Love how the pear quilt blocks, and the sped up part was fun. I finished the binding on a baby quilt while watching today. It has a lavender outer border. 😊
Think I might have to try the pear quilt...Only 5 to quilt ahead of it - totally doable - If I get busy. At 76 the get started gets slower. Thank you -
Hi Pat. I love your pear quilt blocks. That will be an adorable quilt. Whenever you talk about the state fabrics I picture them in a chunky churndash block. I think that would let you showcase the fabrics in the larger middle part of the block but I can't wait to see what you decide to do. Have a great day.
HA HA, I am 68-I don't EVER call myself a senior citizen. (I have great grandchildren, but they call me GGMa) I get insulted if my husband uses my age to get a discount. "Speak for yourself old geezer," I say. It's a state of mind for me.
QUESTION - I have been collecting dog print fabrics for years and I need to do something with them. Would your State Fabric plan work with other types of fabrics that beg to be displayed but not necessarily in a regular block quilt and that don't have the same scale or color scheme? If so, I will wait and when you reveal your plan, I will sew along with my doggie prints with you slowly but progressively throughout 2025.
Pat did you know that you have the windmill blades differently than your friends pattern.? Yours have the arrow part of the blades out and hers are narrow part in.

I 'm same age. Born when Moby Dick was a minnow.
My grands know I am 29 with 43 years of experience. I love your version of stating how old you are!!
sounds perfect!
Loving the pears, so pretty. Now i want to make my own critter and state quilt! Just enjoying all the ideas and colors!

it is a mindset!
With all those State Fabrics I think you will have to do a two sided quilt with states on both sides. Is going to be a stunning quilt I’m sure.
I won't use very much of most of the fabric. I only need small pieces
So silly am I, I keep looking at your joy, joy, joy, quilt and thinking, gosh, that looks familiar. It looks familiar because I have the book and all of the fabrics picked out for Heaven and Nature Sing in one of my project bags. I’ll get to it, eventually. Lol

that is such a sweet thing to do 💗
Log cabin is my favourite block and I have made several. Thanks for video
I am caught up with the blocks , love them !
I am intrigued by the pears and just ordered the Fruit Salad book from my library 😊
I have not made a log cabin quilt, made some blocks but not a full quilt. Planning one in the future. Judy
I’m 74!!! I was waiting for you to break into dance with that music 🎉🎉
hehe
Love your pears and loved how you sped up the action of putting them on your design wall and the music! Got a chuckle out of it. Smile and a laugh is a good way to start a day.
Thanks so much!
I am crazy 🤪 about containers also!
Hello. Yes I made a log cabin quilt. Ooooh just remembered I made two log cabin quits. Would love to make another.
Your extra fabric from the states fabric would be great if you made a quick quilt for your postman..... 😊
Hi Pat, every time you show mushroom things I think of my precious Mother-in-law who loved everything mushrooms! ❤😊
awww.. how sweet! I hope you have one mushroom thing. My wonderful MIL (who i miss dearly) loved hummingbirds
@@PatSloanI do have several of her things 😊
My very first quilt ever was a log cabin quilt!!

lol! Love the design wall music! The pears, too, but the music brought a well-timed laugh. 😁
Pat your pears blocks are darling. Look forward to seeing your end results. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️🙂

fast motion is fun!
Log cabin pattern quilts are my favorite!
The pear quilt is beautiful Pat❤❤
I just did a lot of those the other day. Clean cutting table and mat and recovered my ironing board

Your pear quilt is coming along nicely! It’s going to be lovely!
I use mugs for storage too! Loved seeing yours. And I love your pear quilt…am tempted to make one too. Pat, you inspire me to keep at it!
Another thing to wash off. Is your rulers. I wash or wipe off all my rulers at least once a month.
I have not made a Log Cabin quilt yet, but it is on my bucket list to do.
Yes! I have at least 3 mugs that I put stuff in. I also have a little rotating holder that is a part of my “nest”. 😂
Good idea to clean up!
The first quilt I ever made was a log cabin - Eleanor Burns style. That was at least 35 years ago!!
Love and appreciate Elenor so much!
Happy Senior Citizen Day from one to another! I’m blessed to have found The Sloan Zone. I’ve learnt so much!
Wonderful!
thx
I am working up tp a birthday 8/27 I will be 83 I think I might be a senior citizen🤩🤩

Good morning! I've been watching your old videos and I've finally caught your video with the chat enabled.
I finished my Christmas All Year and am taking it to the SPA this week!!
Wonderful!
My Dad and I loved the Butterscotch Life Savers and I also loved the cherry ones. Love all those state fabrics.
those butterscotch are good! do they still make them?
@@PatSloan I just googled and looks like a number of places carry them including Amazon. What doesn't Amazon carry? hahaha
Love the pear quilt!! Looking great. And I love the plum pudding and Joy blocks especially in that Christmas all year. Thanks!❤

ooohhh. I have collected birds. What a great idea!!
I really don't know if you will like it. It will be a bit more work and i am not doing a pattern.
Pat did you know that you have the windmill blades differently than your friends pattern.? Yours have the arrow part of the blades out and hers are narrow part in.
do you man today's pinwheel? it is identical, they are not different. I just took that photo on the cover and the diagram and compared them

What happened to your monthly journal book? I love all the stickers 😍
You are breaking the Quilters Code of Conduct asking about projects we are not working on... check your rule book!
@@PatSloan 📖😂😂🤣😂
What is the name of your music you used for hanging the pear blocks?
i put it in the description box, it is from the youtube free library of music we creators can use. Od Yishama - E's Jammy Jams
I saw my town when you held up the Rhode Island fabric - yeah! Do you include holiday fabric when you make your 2.5" square fabric blocks?
i have at times but not a lot of it as it generally is not the right color. Not much holiday yellow
