this video reminds me of when i first played pjsk as a thumb player on tablet lmao (for context, my friend who introduced me to the game was a phone thumb player and i installed it on my tablet cause it was easier) dw tho, i play index now
4:51 i tend 2 play at school and most of the time there isn’t and comfortable or stable surfaces around, and as someone who plays index whenever i try phone hard charts, i hold the phone in place with both my ring fingers, it’s awkward at first but it helps if your phone tends to slip or move and you don’t wanna play thumbs
ipad thumb players be like 😃 6:03 at least for my phone, the speaker/mic layout is reversed, so for android players it's good to double check the orientation to make sure you aren't blocking any of the speaker ports with your palms ✌
Thumb player here! I play on a phone (obviously) so its a bit difficult sometimes especially for songs above 32 which were made for more fingers... Anyhow i like the additional challenge of being s thumb player😊
I’m a thumb phone player that wants to switch to index in the future but I’m so used to thumbs that whenever I try to use index I immediately fail lol 😅
I started my rhythm gaming journey by playing Project Diva on the PS Vita, so it feels a lot more natural to use my thumbs while playing than any other way!
what are your thoughts on playing with four/six fingers outside of append? I tried some append maps before the global append launch, and i was obsessed with the play style. After a while, I couldn’t play most maps without instinctively using four fingers to cover each lane. Of course, tripets, techical trills, and funny hold notes make me switch around, but my brain sorta… does it for me. I get to be really fancy with certain notes and patterns, and it’s just a lot more fun for me personally.
I do it occasionally for some patterns. For example 3 note stairs. Or tiny holds, ill use multiple fingers to spread across the screen to make sure i hit them
as a thumb player, i got a smaller phone just to make far reaches easier. also headphone jack still on my phone, so I'd play port side left, so the wiring goes through my fingers. whilst i don't play rhythm games on my phone as much, a small phone is still awesome eitherway
Idk what the point of even playing with index is, because if I'm at a location I can put my phone down on a table and play, I'm already at home, and if I'm at home I'm just going to play a better rhythm game on my computer.
My take on this is, unless you want to play append , there is no reason to switch to index . Especially since youre losing on the support when you play with index on phone My personal rating would be : 4f> thumb > index
on phone I switch between thumbs and index, depending on the song, but on ipad I've actually started playing on index and middle fingers, but it depends on the song. some songs I'll play just index fingers, but on some I actually use my middle fingers for the notes closer to the outside and index for notes closer to the middle. I don't do it a lot, but i find it makes the harder expert songs easier (I've been playing since around 20th july this year and I can fc all songs up to level 26/27 and I can clear pretty much all songs when I'm not having a bad day lol)
oh also I only really ever played the roblox version of friday night funkin before pjsk but i was pretty good at it, and I'm a pretty fast learner so yeah lol. oh and I literally only played a few songs on normal and went straight to yaminabe on hard because I was an idiot 😭 tbh I went straighr to expert after i got a full combo and messed with the harder ones and ended up actually becomimg good at the game lol, I didn't take it seriously at first so i guess i just messed around with the game as a friend got me into it, before actually taking it seriously and becoming better than her I'm under a month (she's played since the release but she only plays it like twice a month)
I bought an iPad for PJSK (and to get into the JP server) but because half my play time is on the train it is so hard because I have to place it on my bag.. 😭 I am able to Fc alot more songs now though so I am happy.
Is middle fingers not common?? I see a lot in the comments, but I only play with my middle fingers. It’s just more comfortable since I have creaky joints
I started out index bc I started on my iPad, but once I learned I could transfer my save between my iPad and iPhone, I since downloaded the game on my phone and I swap between the two. I mostly play on my phone now, so I mostly use my thumbs. But when I feel like playing harder charts, I swap back to my iPad and go the index route. As for Append, I tried playing it when it came out on global, but my tendonitis made playing Append charts painful, so as much as I want to play them, I physically can’t bc it hurts when I do. 😭
chaotic evil playstyle: pinky fingers only LMAO
What about middle fingers only
@@IeatrocksE man I use middle all the time
btw how abt thumbs but tablet
I use middle finger and index
still not sure how ensekai translated append as “extra”
The disrespect :(

Ppl request that I play thumbs on my tablet when im streaming sometimes
So i felt that 🥲
@ to be fair, that’s when i was just starting out and only able to fc hard songs ✌️ i don’t think i’d be able to do that now…
Skill issue i do masters without any issue
"CHARGING PORT ON THE RIGHT" GANG LETS GO
I used to be a middle finger player but I then moved on to index fingers
I use both. Why? Left hand: Thumb right hand: INDEX✨✨

Lets just start playing with no sound and rely solely on visual timing 😤
@laoloserr earplugs and blindfold for the most optimal experience 👌

Middle Finger player here, on a Tab S7+, the only correct way to play on a tablet :)
got me to me to lv 247 at least so far
ayyyyy middle finger players as well, on ipad pro
i can play up to lvl 32 songs rn, def possible
Everyone is just like "thumbs this, index that" WHAT ABOUT US THAT PLAYS WITH 4 FINGERS??????
wait until bro hears about handheld 4f and nail&joint thumbs
i prefer to play with index fingers, because i sometimes get pain in one of my thumbs from drawing so playing with index lets it take a break lol
I’m a thumb phone player that wants to switch to index in the future but I’m so used to thumbs that whenever I try to use index I immediately fail lol 😅
chat am i cooked i play with my thumb and finger
but i mainly play ipad while laying down so
Zoomers self report

Oh thats a perspective that slipped my mind.
Handheld controllers / portable consoles are valid entry points to rhythm gaming as well !
im playing with 4 fingers (index and middle) on a smartphone...and sometimes my fingers bumped and entangled to each other 💀

Nevermind, I prefer playing using feet
dance rhythm gamers?
@yukko_parra Nah, I really use my feet fingers to play pjsekai sometimes

what about 4 finger thumbs (like how tootiejin cleared yaminabe)
I use index and I just can’t use thumbs it’s very uncomfortable for me but I play on phone as well
once i used index but with a thumb grip
Jeff I could totally give you thumb handcams ykyk
👀👀
How about
Play index but thumb
i use both my thumb (left hand) and index finger (right hand) to play pjsk on my phone...
Playing with thumb have to holds, one is holding the phone / 2 is putting the phone on the table like ipad does
i am a index player bc it is so much easier for me XD and I play on iPhone and sometimes iPad
I bought an iPad for PJSK (and to get into the JP server) but because half my play time is on the train it is so hard because I have to place it on my bag.. 😭 I am able to Fc alot more songs now though so I am happy.

As a middle finger player…uhhh
What about Middle fingers 🩷? ( I’m extremely serious, I play with my middle fingers )
The few times ive had to play middles were pretty easy. Almost like i was playing index
i play with middle fingers too! and wow i’ve never met another middle finger player haha (i also combine middle + index sometimes too)
@ SAMEEE !! Middle finger is the best way to play and no one will ever change my mind
