Hello everyone hope you are having a great sunday and have had a good week, Thanks for stopping by for this adventure, Hope you enjoy it. This is a bit of an epic adventure to the highest pub in britain, from Bournemouth to the tann hill inn in the yorkshire dales. 370 miles of winter adventure. Im sure someone will ask, so it was a semer water i drank when i arrived brewed just down the road in leyburn just down the road from the Tann hill inn. It was ok, slightly on the lukewarm side but it might have been because of how nippy it was up there on that hill that day. Anyway thanks for stopping by and thanks for supporting the channel, Ohh... by the way there is a second part to this adventure that will be out the same time next week. Enjoy the adventure :D
It's 8 degrees, you can feel summer coming. Only a Brit could come out with that. Josh's videos are so fresh and honest. He makes you want to get out bikepacking but without wrapping the thing up in tinsel or seducing you with paid-to-lie "product placements".
Really felt like a big increase in production quality in this one. Amazing vid. I'm always amazed that you can carry all the stuff you need to bikepack and still have enough space left over for all your cameras and drones to create the videos. Appreciate the work :)
This was fab Josh - I can’t wait for the rest of the series! I don’t really know how to explain why I like your vids so much but your love of the journey is so evident - thanks for taking us along!!!!
I love the tan hill inn, stayed there several times and it was fantastic. The scenery is breath taking, like home,,,, Northumberland 😉👌❤️🇬🇧love the video my friend, the cotswolds are beautiful 😉👌❤️
Just watched this whole video in one sitting and three things strike me: 1) wow, what an adventure 2) doing that solo is even more impressive 3) with all that B roll footage, I just know you probably ended up doing half the full distance again, going back and forth with the camera! Kudos, sir!
Loved it Josh! Great effort both in the adventure but also I can't imagine the time it took with all the extra footage & editting. Really enjoyed it. Rest before the next one!
Another absolutely brilliant video. Doesn't matter where you ride it's always a pleasure to watch. The videos keep getting better. Your videos were a big part of us were a big part of us getting out for the first time a couple of years back. Now we've just watched the latest video on the middle of the beacons 60-odd miles from home for a quick overnighter and couldn't be happier. Thanks for the awesome and inspiring content. Keep smiling.
Great trip!!👍👍...i couldn't get up and not put coffee on when im away on bike at those times😂 lightweight burner and short gas canister ...keep em coming 👍👍
WOW just stumbled across your channel and now subscribed, this is just awsome and better than prime time tv, keep up the great work, as a keen cyclist myself I’m loving this channel and got loads of videos to catch up on so thank you and keep on going👏👏👏
That was awesome, inspiring & thoroughly enjoyable to watch. I actually watched yesterday & came back to comment after having just finished watching the ride to the lowest pub. Gonna go comment over there now. Cheers👍
Awesome again Josh. I really really enjoyed this one! Just fabulous and well done, major achievement. I kept recognising little bits I’ve ridden, brought back some fantastic memories, thanks heaps. I’m looking forward to where you’re off to next. See you in a week 😁👍🏼
Welcome to Stoke-On-Trent buddy, you were literally just down the road from me. Some great pottery history to see along the canals and the Biddulph way takes you through some old mine sites. Great video as always!
booked a trip, bikepacking from north to south wales solo bikepacking I'll be videoing to trip can't wait, watching your vids just make me want to go tomorrow instead of april!
Great, Josh (never asked your name when we met you at Tan Hill!) Good to see you enjoy your beer, but have to admit to being most impressed by the roast beef / Yorkshire pudding breakfast! Most excellent adventure 😄
Thank you for the inspiration, Here on the Isle of Wight whenever I plan a route on Komoot using Enduro Mountain biking it always tries to take me down footpaths with flipping stiles .
That's an amazing journey Josh. I've biked up there from Darlington a couple of times diring summer and reckon it's 'a good day out'. From down on the South Coast bikepacking via the cack of winter ways and trails.... TOTAL respect!
Mate, really enjoying your videos. Currently at home with bloody Shingles and applying for teaching/boarding jobs in Europe and UK - I may even get a ride in with you one day. Preferably to a pub 😂
Great video and route Josh, and there are some great gravel loops around the Tan Hill area too. It appears that I accidentally hit the thumb down button earlier, oops, 🤭 sorry about that I’ve now reversed that! Cheers 👍
I’m loving your channel as a new subscriber, keep up the excellent work!..👍🏻 I’m also a wild camper, although I prefer to hike to my wild camping spots on foot, I was on the Long Mynd in Shropshire last night, highly recommend you giving it a look around there if you get the chance! I am a keen cyclist also, so maybe I’ll give this bike packing a go sometime, as you can cover much greater distances on a cycle than you can on foot…
That was great Josh, welldone. I wish I was a bit younger, I've got a bad back and right hip at the moment so my bike riding has been limited. It's not good! You came through Swindon on this ride and I have cycled along those same paths a lot over the last few months. A well deserved pint, don't spill any now! You should have stayed for a bit and treated yourself to a proper meal as well:)
ahh man hope you get better soon, as a tall human pull ups do wonders for your back. That morning was incredibly beautiful and then incredibly foggy and cold. It was a bit of a quick pint and then back onto the trails for the next trip :D
You're brave riding along the Trent & Mersey after the Chase, it's my local and is a frequent source of 2 inch long thorn punctures. Had six one time in the short section between Weston and Sandon (south of Stone) lol. Thanks for uploading, I really enjoyed the adventure 👍🏻
What trails haven't you ridden in the UK? You must have done a fair amount now? Would be great to see a heat map of all the rides. Any plans for foreign trips?
Another great video, I’m curious to know why you used the South Yorkshire pub at the beginning. it’s local to me wondered if you had a connection to it? All the best!
So did you camp there or stay the night? Their website says you can’t make camping reservations anymore and all the seem to have for overnight in the pub is bunk rooms. What’s it like in real life?
All your vids are inspiring dude but this one shines through! What a journey through all that rutted mayhem ;-) hat off to you mate. Out of interest what beer did you go for?
Great adventure Josh , oh to be younger I’ve tennis elbow and a dodgy hip so short rides only . But bravo what a journey documented really well indeed. That’s a long way to go for a pint of lager lol . Keep them coming , btw did you get the train home from Kirkby Stephen or did you cycle across to Darlington ? Atb Dave
Looking forward to watching this one. I cycled by Tan Hill in the summer (from Reeth - my jaw dropped when I saw you were cycling there from home) and was surprised to find it looking like a bit of a dump. I hope you weren’t disappointed. Guess I’ll keep watching and see.

Love your videos. Your equipment list, in particular your wet weather clothing?? Thanks.
great vid! I may sound stupid but when you wild camp, did you asked someone’s permission? I’ve been told it’s illegal so afraid to do it.
this was great

Fantastic work Josh! Kayleigh was very happy to make her debut on UA-cam! The kids have already watched the video twice! They enjoyed your stay 😃

That Yorkshire pudding breakfast looked strangely good
Can confirm it was good 😋
Brilliant video 👍🏼
You are certainly a very hardy soul! Countryside looks awesome. Greetings from NZ.
Been to Tan Hill many times but never via Bournemouth. You're an absolute legend Josh. Huge kudos and chapeau to you mate.
Great film Josh - a real sense of adventure and some really atmospheric filming - a simple but very effective challenge! Terrific watch - thank you!
Wow that was awesome adventure. Well done !
Great film as per usual Josh. Hope you enjoyed your pint 🍻
Greetings from across the pond. Really enjoy your travels through the UK. 👍🚴♀️

The best pub, my local from Kirkby Stephen, absolutely great video mate

Aha perfect trail side snack i think, weigh nothing and taste great. :D
Yay missed you
Yeah!! Good place. Congratulations my friend.
A well earned pint and an awesome edit showing your route. Enjoyed that 👌🏻
Well I can't think of a better way to build a thirst😊😊👍👍
You so deserved that drink. Awesome ride 👍
Great trip dude
Thank you for the inspiration, Here on the Isle of Wight whenever I plan a route on Komoot using Enduro Mountain biking it always tries to take me down footpaths with flipping stiles .
Brilliant ride and film. Subscribed. I haven’t been to the Tan Hill Inn since 1986 (stopped by on the Pennine Way). Looks nicer than I remember it :)
That strava footprint!!
That's an amazing journey Josh. I've biked up there from Darlington a couple of times diring summer and reckon it's 'a good day out'. From down on the South Coast bikepacking via the cack of winter ways and trails.... TOTAL respect!
Well done brother, stoic
Epic well done mate 👍🏻🍻🚴
Awesome video
Mate, really enjoying your videos. Currently at home with bloody Shingles and applying for teaching/boarding jobs in Europe and UK - I may even get a ride in with you one day. Preferably to a pub 😂
Well deserved! :) Cheers
Great video and route Josh, and there are some great gravel loops around the Tan Hill area too.
It appears that I accidentally hit the thumb down button earlier, oops, 🤭 sorry about that I’ve now reversed that!
Cheers 👍
aha no worries you are forgiven 😂 I did i couple of trips around yorkshire last year had some great fun.
I just did the audax around there, lovely pub but brutal terrain
I’m loving your channel as a new subscriber, keep up the excellent work!..👍🏻

Haveing a bike definitely makes the descents a little more exciting, the uphills though 😮💨
That was great Josh, welldone. I wish I was a bit younger, I've got a bad back and right hip at the moment so my bike riding has been limited. It's not good!

Ohh there was plenty of thorns in my tyre along there, tubeless won though
Excellent video. Could you put the music that you use in the info?
Brilliant, one of your best. Enjoyed seeing you upbeat in that good weather. Have you considered splitting these videos to increase the content?
What trails haven't you ridden in the UK? You must have done a fair amount now? Would be great to see a heat map of all the rides. Any plans for foreign trips?
Great ride and video Josh, can I ask, how do you plan your off road routes?
Would a pint at the top Gondola Station bar at Aonach Mor (Fort William) be higher at 650M? Love the video by the way!
Hi cool video I’ve just subscribed ! Do you live in Bournemouth bud ?
Another great video, I’m curious to know why you used the South Yorkshire pub at the beginning.
it’s local to me wondered if you had a connection to it? All the best!
No connection i just noticed it while on the second part of this adventure, and figured id use it.
@@KeepSmilingAdventures if I knew you were passing you could have called for a Ginsters 👍🏼
So did you camp there or stay the night? Their website says you can’t make camping reservations anymore and all the seem to have for overnight in the pub is bunk rooms. What’s it like in real life?
awesome video thanks, question if u could only have one bike for ur bike packing adventures would u choose a gravel or mountainbike?
if it was only for bikepacking actual off road bikepacking probably a mtb.
All your vids are inspiring dude but this one shines through! What a journey through all that rutted mayhem ;-) hat off to you mate. Out of interest what beer did you go for?
cheers mate, it was a semer water (not actual water) i promise. Brewed in leyburn about 20 miles away from the pub
Nice, I'll check it out when I'm up that way 🤟
🎉❤
Not on my Orbea M20 Aero. Wouldn't be very.... Aero?
What tent do you use? Is it a bivvy bag?

Thanks, Well this is just the start of the adventure really because i continued on my pub crawl after this to the lowest pub :D
@@KeepSmilingAdventures ahh makes sense all will be revealed soon I guess 👍
How the hell do you not know your sisters address? 😳😳🤣
you downgraded your self from couch to garden in about 10secs.... You gentleman ....
Looking forward to watching this one. I cycled by Tan Hill in the summer (from Reeth - my jaw dropped when I saw you were cycling there from home) and was surprised to find it looking like a bit of a dump. I hope you weren’t disappointed. Guess I’ll keep watching and see.
it seemed alright, i sat outside and got chatting to a couple hikers. It's probably a bit more old style pub.
