Just bought one of these and installed on my 15 ram and overall I think it's a pretty solid unit. My only complaint is the rear back up cam quality. I installed everything as prescribed to my stock camera and I've found that the pixel quality is far worse on this unit than my stock headset. Other than that my other complaints are minor
I have the same unit in a 2016 Ram. I will second it that the mic kind of sucks compared to the original and wish there was a remote upgrade for it. Haven't found one yet. It doesn't like -40C mornings screen freezes sometimes. Otherwise everything works as it should.

I love it, Burt if you have to use your phone to take calls because the mic sucks, it kind of ruins this unit for me. The stock system has a great mic. Have you found out if you can put an external mic?

Yes it does! And you can edit those In the console menu!

I am having an issue with the retaining clips as well. Did you ever fix the problem? I wonder if it's the plastics or the clips?

You have issues with the apple cad play not connecting once you update the google apps? I loved mine until updating the google apps.
how does it work in the cold ? i heard that some of these are really unresponsive and can take 1 minute + to actually turn on

Usually they require you to transfer parts of the retaining clips from the factory unit looks like it is missing them and why it pops out so easy.
Agreed. I have this same unit. Same popping out. I removed it and found I forgot the 2 clips at the top under the buttons. Found them on Amazon for $6. And now it is installed correctly and no popping out. How about the Sim Card feature? Have you tried it?

You do not.
@@maxmueller2171 Yeah, I went ahead and did the 8.4 Uconnect and instrument cluster upgrade. Its not as big but in integration with the truck is awesome. Heck, upcoming turns show up on the instrument cluster.
