About to install one in my truck and I’m SOO glad I found your second video before I started.
Just ordered one, thanks for the video very helpful, i ordered one because my manual hvac control board is acting up and I've heard that the new control board is 700 so for 1100 i figured I'd upgrade everything and not have to worry about the board ever again, this system can also be upgraded if you download the app

Really appreciate you making this vid! This helped me out big time. I bought a used 2018 3500 Laramie last year with a messed up head unit, and replacing the screen with this Linkswell. Weird...the Laramie doesn't have a couple of the plugs you used, but then has a couple that the Tradesman doesn't...I can confirm that hard metal cable seems to be the factory radio. Mine has an additional purple and yellow just like it that no longer plug to anything...guessing either of those are XM Satellite. Testing/tuning/beer drinking today :) ***For those with Laramie trim, make sure you remove the cup holder trim first before the front bezel. It's just 1 screw, and make sure you take out that additional screw that is hiding in the cubby hole above the power outlet!

Great video the only thing I might add is to tape those wires up so you don’t get a bunch of rattles

WHEW! That's a wiring mess! Great vid man, thanks for your hard work. So in reviewing this I'm struggling to see what the benefit is. Now, I've upgraded from the small unit to the 8.4" Uconnect Nav unit. If I install this unit, correct me if I'm wrong, if I don't have cell signal most apps are dead in the water, no? Because Android radios rely on cell service. No satellite nav, no satellite SiriusXM. What's more, the OEM sat ant doesn't appear to work and neither does the OEM mic. Why add a second? And I bet you lose the "turn by turn" on the evic as well as some other functions. This really doesn't appear to be "plug 'n play". Yeah, it's cheaper than an 8.4 uconnect, but boy it sure is lacking some critical features. These Android systems have great potential, but I don't think they're ready for prime time. Always looking for something new, not sure this is it though. Thanks again brother.
Thank you! I agree completley, they have a great platform to build on but no satellite radio reciever built in and has to have a hot spot to work and i tried even i could to get factory mic to work but couldn't get it
Personally, I use Google maps for navigation, and sat radio is useless to me, so 🤷♂️ not deal breakers.

Does the Navigation work on Offline Mode or does it only work if google maps is connected to Wifi or hotspot ?
Greetings, I installed one of these in My 2015 Ram 3500 Tradesman. About a month or two after having it in, an engine code popped for the Ambient Air temperature module. Didn't think anything of it, changed it, cleared the code and it popped again a few weeks later.......then my front windows would stop working intermittently and would begin working again.......then one time the radio just wouldn't come on for a couple days.....I thought it was trashed but it came back on......was wondering if anyone else had this issue?

I didn't see that option but being android based i would get the tourque app downloaded onto it then connect the Bluetooth Adapter and i would think it would work just like on my phone but haven't tried it. He has the edge cts3 so we never thought to check into it
I'd bank on the original company to stand up more than Amazon 😂 I just get Amazon stamped products ( aside from 2day shipping-- which is built into the price ) so I can get a hassle free return if something goes wrong.

His truck from factory didn't have auto climate control. There was a different harness for trucks that did but i caint say that I've seen it work but it should
Do they have a tuner? After installing the linkswell, anytime my tuner is plugged in the windows, backup camera and climate controls stop working..
I don't know of one of they do. I usually listen to UA-cam music or the xm radio app

the reason we weren't as concerned was he put a short stubby antenna on and never used the fm. I'm thinking he did go back in and hook it up later
Now that it’s been five months how’s it working still? Was it worth the price to him in the end? I’ve been pondering the idea for months but am worried it’s not up to expectations for the price I can convert to uconnect 8.4. Please let me k is, appreciated !!!!
We've been running different directions a lot but he says he really likes it. I haven't had a chance to use it myself. I was going to buy one for my Silverado but it wouldn't work with the autosync and i would loose my wifi through OnStar. I will call and ask him just to make sure. Have you seen his review video? If not i can send you a link to it and his email is in the description if you had questions. Does your truck have the small screen like his did?

You didn't need to cut that out! You routed the wires wrong so they wouldn't clear the bracket!
Off camera we tried routing them every way that we could. The first Linkswell went right in and fit perfectly (no cutting) but it was defective and this one was defiantly different. I'm not saying it couldn't be done without cutting it out but I wasn't seeing how to make it work and the owner said cut it.

I'm pretty sure there is a different harness for the steering wheel. The truck we installed in didn't have steering wheel controls so i didn't have to figure that one out but I'll see if i can find anything

I think so, bigger screen that can play UA-cam, Netflix and pretty much anything else a android tablet can do
Do I need to plug something for the Bluetooth cause it's saying that I need device pin code 🤔 and when I search nothing happens 🤔
It was a while ago. I do remember having to put a code in but i was thinking it was in the manual on the unit. In short but i caint remember exactly where we got the code.

I installed mine but when my phone connects, it keeps randomly calling, and none of the apps work unless I tap into the ones on the bottom.

I might would try resetting it. Small in bottom center. Use paperclip and push and hold for 10 seconds

It may be the difference in term level and 1500. That's the only truck I've installed one in

I did everything you did here in the video but my backup camera does not work. Can not figure it out for the life of me.

@@CFarmer all good. No I didn’t. Took it to an auto audio shop and they could not find connectivity either. No signal. Order a replacement camera and wiring which they’ll be installing this week.

I have the same stereo and can't save the time or put a picture in the background as soon as I turn off the truck and turn it back on it resert 🥺🥺
Hmm, that would be aggrivating. The only rational thing i can think of is that the memory wire isn't staying hot the whole time the ignition is off. You've probably already thought of that but I'm not sure what else could cause that issue
Definitively don’ know what the hell He was doing… Antena is the White- plug. (“Yellow “- Sirius- XM). Keep the upper plugs up, then You don’t have to cutoff the plastic/ Radio- box/ frame…
It looks nice but the specs on it suck. I guess if you want a 10" screen over quality it may work for you
It's not mine but i like it. The first one had issues and this was the replacement. Around 2 months now no issues. Great audio and video, all apps work as they should. Went with alpine first but the quality and functionality wasn't what i expected from alpine. What are some other options with better specs and a larger display than stock?
Does this still support satelite radio?
I'm thinking it does but he didn't have xm so we didn't look into it. Caint say for certain

Hey Sean, This Linkswell wasn't XM compatible. I'm not sure if others are but he downloaded the app and used it. The app worked but it wasn't as reliable as a XM tuner

@@CFarmer I installed a linkswell gen 4 in my ram tonight and the factory usb does connect you to Android auto however it did disconnect several times over a 30 minute period
That's awesome that it worked. I am curious if after a few reboots of it will stay connected or if it will continue to disconnect. When i first bought my truck is like my phone and my stereo had trouble getting along the first few days but then it got much better. Let me know if it keeps disconnecting plz

How do i make the reverse camara work??
It should come on when the vehicle is in reverse. If it doesn't i would double check on the back of the unit and make sure camera is connected to the backup camera imput on the linkswell
Where did you put the GPS antenna
Put it on the dash at bottom drives side corner of windshield. Another one i stuck inside the dash just over and behind the linkswell. Both places worked good
