I really like that cocokind moisturizer. I use it’s sparingly in the am bc it’s a bit pricy. Also you can feel it. I have sensitive skin and it stings a bit, but I like it a lot. But I found 2 really amazing more affordable options. One I found on my own, the Hado Labo Tokyo gel cream. It appears to be Hado Labo’s western products. I’ve tried their other products before that had completely Japanese labels and for some reason I like the esteem moisturizer more then the ones I tried that are sold in Japan. Plus the packaging is better. But I also got a rec for the CosRx snail filtrate gel cream and it’s great. I bought it for my kid bc she’s really loved snail filtrate for her skin that gets patches of eczema but also teenage acne. When I ran out of my Hado Labo gel cream I tried it and now I’m pretty much in love with both. I have very dry skin and with my serums I find they do such a good job I stopped putting oils and balms on at night. (Tho I’m sure in winter I’ll have to go back to that.) But yeah the price for those two are under $25 so if your looking for affordable solid moisturizers I totally recommend those two. Also J actually bought the Hado Labo one for my niece’s girlfriend who has normal to oily skin and she loves it. That’s why I decided to try it. I actually was going through a dry spell and ended up buying like 5 moisturizers at once. The only two I fell in love with were the 2 I mentioned. They’re both comparable and so if you’re interested, either one is good depending on which is easier to get your hands on. I bought the Hado Labo off Amazon and the CosRx off yesstyle. The only downside of the CosRx is the packaging. The lid is a bit wonky to get off and bc of the snail filtrate it’s very, almost stringy. (Not to be gross but snot like). So it can be messy. I wish it came in a tube.
James, I'm in my forties and just started taking care of my skin. Thank you for your informative videos, I was able to find a lot of resources for research thanks to your info. (Depression is awful.)
I know you're looking for a dupe for the glow recipe pink juice, and I can't wait. I ran out the same week I lost my job and I miss it. Anyone reading this have a good dupe? And I couldn't agree more in the pump for products. I wish the Glow Recipe toner had a pump.
What I’d like to know when I watch these clips is whether I can get the same hydration/moisture effect with a smaller amount of product: I always see James use a lot more amount than I do of the same product (of those I use at least). I guess it’s much easier to use so much easier when it’s your job and you receive more items than you can use, not to mention you want it to be visible on camera, but it’s harder to relate and to establish the transferability of the review.
Yeah that’s exactly it! Mainly I use generously because I know I have many other products! I would say what I show is more than you have to use for sure!
Sundays are my favorite day of the week now! I watch all 3 Welsh channels and I absolutely love and appreciate the all. You two bring such a breath of fresh air to have honesty in an industry that has become so fake. And they do it no matter who they piss the f*ck off 😂🥰 I hope your puppy is all better and isn’t shitting all over the house!
Your videos convinced me to give up my witch hazel and cultivate and actual skincare routine. Thank yoouuu! My skin is starting to look healthier and happier.
James you need to sing in all of your videos PLEASE💜🖤. I’m exhausted too working on a Sunday and your video is getting me through thank you so much! Hope the puppy feels better!
heck yeah pink juice!! I actually love to use it as a serum. I can't afford to go through it so fast, though, so I buff it up with some cosrx snail essence (two pumps snail, one pump juice) and it helps really carry the pink juice around my face. I feel like it also allows it to sink in nicely and do its job? I could be making a huge mistake here, but I love to use it this way lol
Cloudberry (aka Bake Apples where I come from) is a star ingredient in Skyn Iceland’s Pure Cloud Cream which is one of my most favourite skin creams. It feels sort of like some pressed serums. The texture is pillowy and not mousse-like but more like a compressed mousse, if that makes sense. As soon as you rub it into the skin you can feel it break down to a more watery texture which honestly feels like a cool glass of water for your skin. I highly recommend.
Holy crap, I got that cocokind moisturizer in a target beauty box, and I was so pleasantly surprised when I used it, it made my skin feel so smooth but not greasy, and it didn’t make me breakout. The beauty box was just 15 bucks and I received a full size jar of the moisturizer along with other really nice stuff. I think I’m going to buy another one of those beauty boxes to get the moisturizer.
I don't know if I'm easily impressed but that split tub with TWO types of moisturisers has me 🤯 I LOVE the Glow Recipe moisturiser!! A little goes a long way for me and as someone with combination/ sensitive skin it is hydrating and doesn't make me look oily just glowy ✨ Love you Robert! Jk jk 😜 Love you James!!
Would also recommend the Neogen Green Tea/Lavender Duo Cream which is a collab with joanday, it has the same concept and actually looks v similar for packaging
I’m a sustainability freak and I’m very intrigued by MAKE, never heard of them until now. Great vid all around, liked learning about new brands, and yes! Put it in a pump!
Thank you James so much for introducing me to the Rovectin Cica Care Balm!!! Had an eczema & heat rash breakout & this was so good, soothing & worked so fast!!!
My favorite product by Cocokind is the sea moss exfoliator. It is a scrub but I promise it is the most gentle of gentle scrubs you will ever use. I use it once or twice a week if I think I need it and my skin always feels so silky afterwards. It's basically dirt, and it smells like dirt (I like the smell), and it's a pain to use because it's a powder (dirt!) but it's so worth it, I've purchased it over and over.
Thank you so much for this video! ❤ I don't have the luxury of trying out different kinds of moisturizers, so I look up to your opinion/experience as a starting point to research which moisturizer to try next since my current one isn't as hydrating as I would like it. 🤔
I support this 100%! I’m currently in aesthetician school and I firmly believe that there isn’t such a thing as “normal” skin. Everyone has some sort of skin concern and no ones skin is perfectly balanced 100% of the time. Plus for some people, skin that’s extremely dry, has acne, etc. is normal to them if that’s what there skin gravitates toward
I've been wanting to try Make Beauty and Cocking for a while but it's not available in the EU 😭😭😭 and now even James recommending it just makes me want to try them even more!!!
I would love if you tried european influencers skincare brands. For example here in Sweden there are like Indy beauty by Therese Lindgren, Hickap by Wilma to name a few exemples. But I would also like to see other influencers brands from other countries and see what you think about them. Love you channel! 🥰
I bought the whole Make beauty line upon your suggestion and I love it! However, I noticed I'm breaking out slightly, how long should I give my skin to accept new product/s?
Hellllloooo so excited!!! I needed this moisturizer vid today!! I am combination skin and always hunting good moisturizers that can keep me dewy for the entire day under makeup!!! 💜🥰💜Let's do thissss💜🥰🖤💙🖤Happy Welsh Brothers Day!!💜🎉💜
I need to buy a new moisturizer and this video couldn’t have at a better time. Are you thinking of reviewing the I’m From Rice Cream? I think it would be wonderful for the winter season, but as someone with oily skin I always have doubts when it comes to richer creams.
you always steal the show cuz wow your amazing, i always take ur advice youve always been authentic even if you thought you were good luck in the future never stop making videos ! 8 years strong
Another comment about Cocokind sunscreen James - I am about your skin tone and don’t find a white cast and am pretty sure it’s a mineral spf 30 which is crazy to me as it doesn’t feel thick or white at all! 👻 It it moisturizing and find I can skip my normal moisturiser step when using. I think you’d really enjoy it.
You should try out intoxicated cosmetics mainly their serums but you may like their cream, it is a gel like cream that does feel super hydrating. I however use retinol so I have constantly dry skin so I have to use something a little stronger or apply another cream later in the day. But I do love them! They mix science and nature using some amazing new technologies.
PLEASE REVIEW the Naturie Skin Conditioner! There is a cream-gel and a water..I have no idea what to call it. I use the water...idk what to call it...an essence? Toner? It is just a skin conditioner. It is so wonderful. I have awful sensitive..dry..acne prone skin. This has HELPED my skin so so much!! I will use to forever! It has Coix seed extract, which I haven't heard you talk about that much (unless I missed it). THANK YOUUU!
I don’t know if you have already heard of this brand but there’s a korean skincare brand called Frudia and they in my opinion have really nice packaging. I just don’t find a lot of reviews about their products so it would be interesting to know your opinion on their stuff 😄
Hey James you are glowing loads of love and good wishes for you. I really appreciate your honest opinion. I have a question for you I have watched your previous videos so I wanna ask this that would you still prefer the "I'm From Rice Toner" and "Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner" for normal to sensitive skin? I'd also like you to comment on Banila Co. Zero Cleansing Balm and Foam?
I have an oily and acne prone skin the only reason I started applying moisturizer and sunscreen is because of you and using the product recommendations by you (whatever is available in India) my skin has got better. So thank you so much. ❤️
Still waiting on your take on the indie brand Volition! Also waiting to use up my current moisturizer so I'll be debating between the MAKE and Axis-Y moisturizers you featured here. Got that sensitive combination, acne prone skin -_-
I'm not even from US but James makes me bought many glow recipes products 😂 I'm super excited to use them. Perhaps the extra happiness I get from seeing the cute packages will affect my skin positively lol
Best for Textured Dehydrated skin? Texture including large pores, white heads and congested skin - dunno if they're considered the exact same thing, I'm new to in-depth skincare.
Im curious how do you organise what products to use when? When you mention that something is a good night moisturiser, do you write yourself a list of what you used the night before and then review when you wake up ? How long do you use a product before you review it? Not investigating just curious because I really enjoy the content :)
There’s this “cream” (it’s more like a face lotion that works like a cream, it’s quite thin) that I rec for friends who are poc who are a bit iffy on using acids. It’s a mandelic acid cream that give an incredibly glowy look to your skin. They’re a “natural” brand but don’t hold that against them. I’ve never heard anyone talk about them but I found them when dealing with melasma and some dark spots I got when on one of those meds that make you photosensitive. (If you take one of those be extra careful with sunscreen and hats bc it will fck your skin up.) I’d read mandelic acid helped with hyperpigmentation and dark spots so I went looking and couldn’t find anything that was affordable and looked like something my skin would enjoy. I’d also read mandelic acid is great for poc bc you don’t run the risk of causing hyperpigmentation on skin with more melanin the way other acids can. Anyways it’s a small company called sweetsation and cream is called BioRadiance and it’s really nice if you have dryer skin and want to brighten dark spots. It’s also got kojic acid and alpha arbutin. It’s a great beginner acid bc it’s so moisturizing and bc mandelic is such a safe acid. I’ve tried multiple mandelic acid products now and haven’t found any I like as much. I’ve now moved on to stronger acids but I still rec this to acid beginners and poc. It’s also quite affordable at around $35. They also send you decent size samples of their other products with your order which is always nice. Also my two fav moisturizers right now are the Hado Labo Tokyo gel cream and the CosRx snail filtrate gel cream. I like them equally. I bought the CosRx for my kid who has dry skin, eczema and teenage acne and along with propolis and the CosRx snail filtrate essence, her skin is glowing and looking much clearer. This is a kid who looks chapped even in summer and in the middle of winter her skin looks plump and hydrated.
James, I am new to skincare and I need help with which is applied first when including foundation, a moisturizer, and a Spf? I want to guess that a moisturizer will go on first, then an SPF, and then foundation, but I’m doubting myself.
Have you tried the banana moisturizer from glow recipe ? I literally fell in love with that one and use it as my nighttime moisturizer, it really feels like it locks in everything ugh I love it!
Make gel/cream/serum is a hit! Would have never tried it if not seen it here!! Best best best for morning before make up, sunscreen. SMOOTH baby face skin Might need one more step for night time. (Note. I'm combo skin)
I just had a major curiosity. When you film these are you just slathering tons and tons of moisturizer on your face to demonstrate each product? Or do you space it out across a week or so lol?
I need to finish the moisturizers I have before the expire before I buy these 😩😩😩😩 definitely going to save this for when I’m all done with what I have now
How did u get Make outside US they say on site they don't shipe internationally, also their moisturizer reminds me so much of Dr. Jart Water Drop by look and packaging
It’s me commenting again whilst I’m only minutes into the video 🤭😅 For those who think gel moisturizers may only be for oilier skin types I’m here to say no - I have more “normal to dry” skin (was drier when I was younger and been normalized with great skincare if that is a thing) and I adore gel moisturizers especially with all the layering I do toner essence serum then sunscreen after! I can’t wait to try this one by Make and agree regarding a pump!! I love Cocokind sunscreen and is all I use on my 6yo daughters very sensitive face.
Try out the Liquid Gold from Stratia! It's lightweight and barrier repairing. Very similar to Krave beauty's GBR! They're both amazing & my holy grails.
I recently tried the SOS Moist from Caudalie and it irritated my skin. I was so excited to finally try the Caudalie brand..! Now I'm a little bit scared of trying more prods from the brand...
Please review the creme shop skin care products !! Specifically their cica mend line, and the but first, water line. I see their products everywhere and everything has such good ratings online (like 5/5 stars!!) yet no one is talking about them
I regularly struggle with getting my skin to "calm the fuck down." Weather, diet, new products, life, you name it seems to flare my rosacea cheeks and oil slick my nose. I like how you will incorporate a product that will help with this issue in most videos. Anyone know if there a full routine for such prone people? Been dabling with new products in hopes to find the right fit. However I feel like I'm doing more harm than good. Thanks.
Have you tried Vegreen? Their products contain yam extract, it’s like an alternative for snail mucin and has a similar texture. They have a toner, serum and moisturiser currently.
James! I have a question. I work in construction, it’s tough on the body which has made me realize the importance of taking care of my skin. I’m sick of using banana boat sunscreens and all this other garbage from the pharmacy. What are some good active sunscreens for us people that have to be outside and active? (Potential video idea) lol.
i’ve literally been looking for a new, better moisturiser! perfect timing, thank you sm ❤️

i have seen someone said that dry skin shouldnt use moisturizer to “teach” the skin to create more oil. OH BOI
HUH???!!! 🤨🤨😭
I've read the same thru the comments in the Flo app sections...couldn't believe my eyes 🤣
Good grief 🙄😩😬
That's why you should take your advice from qualified dermatologists and not idiots online who don't actually know how skin works.

Ooooooohhhhh…I’ll have to give that a try!

I love the Ahava products that are made with Dead Sea minerals. The active gel cream is amazing!
James - I really want to use the Make products but they don't deliver to the UK. How can I get hold of it in the UK? No one seems to have it!
Can you make a video about cheap combination skin care and how to remove white heads? I would appreciate it a lot ! You're video's are really good.
Make gel/cream/serum is a hit! Would have never tried it if not seen it here!! Best best best for morning before make up, sunscreen. SMOOTH baby face skin
Might need one more step for night time. (Note. I'm combo skin)
You wanting to be sent more of the MAKE Succulent skin moisturizer is so hilariously feral. I love it!😅
Id be really curious about your opinion of Rawkanvas. Purified, harmony, limelight as a basic routine. Ugh, I love. Works wonders for my rosacea
I was literally looking for a new moisturiser earlier today, thanks James!! 😇💖
Does MAKE Beauty have a UK website? Or do you need to ship it from the US?
I just had a major curiosity. When you film these are you just slathering tons and tons of moisturizer on your face to demonstrate each product? Or do you space it out across a week or so lol?
I need to finish the moisturizers I have before the expire before I buy these 😩😩😩😩 definitely going to save this for when I’m all done with what I have now
Can you do a video on taking care of sunburnt skin!! Ik Ik I used my spf and stayed out of the sun but I'm still burnt
Hi, James! 🖤 Can I ask for your thoughts on Deoproce? I'm currently using their sun gel (spf 50).
How do you get your hands on MAKE moisturizer in the UK? ☹ they don't ship to the UK and I can't seem to find any UK stockists??
I've been loving Caudalie vino pure serum. My oily red spots dark spots skin loves it
I recently tried the SOS Moist from Caudalie and it irritated my skin. I was so excited to finally try the Caudalie brand..! Now I'm a little bit scared of trying more prods from the brand...
Make Beauty say they don't ship to the UK - is there any way to get their products sent over? Love the video - as always!
i just came here to say that the glow recipe pink juice is the best moisturiser i have ever tried in my life, it feels absolutely gorgeous
Thanks.
Does the axis-y one leave the skin dewy?
Prickly pear probably one of the ingredients my skin didnt like same with tretinoin just red burnt patches remained on my face for 2 months 😅
I could (and will) watch James talk about anything. I love the tiny rambles. 🤣❤️❤️❤️❤️
Have you tried Vegreen? Their products contain yam extract, it’s like an alternative for snail mucin and has a similar texture. They have a toner, serum and moisturiser currently.
I'm not sure if you've talked about any iunik products? Could you please try some products and put it in a video
And just when I'm in the market for a new moisturiser... Thanks James!
Eye cream from Cocokind, please!!! I am looking for something that doesn't have caffeine!
I want to try all these. I mostly buy drug store skincare lately so thank you for including coco kind.
Which would you recommend for really dry skin?!
Yes! Just on time for this summer time 💜🖤
What are your thoughts, if you're familiar with it, on Biologique Recherche P50 Lotion?
Hi James! Love your channel. Can you review the Beauty Bay skin care? I would love to hear your opinion of it. Thanks!!
Please check out Formula 10.0.6! They’re one of my favourite brands and the Seriously Shine Free moisturiser is my go-to!
thanks James for your video!!
Just got the MAKE moisturizer because of you!
