    Poor King Tut, especially when he was so little. It must have been so hard, all the pressure he had to go through at such a young age. He was a nice person but he wasn't allowed to show it in public, he had to be firm or else he got taken advantage of for it. His childhood must have been very lonely too, so I am happy he met Suhad and Lagus in the show, and they ended up being close friends of his. If I met him, I would be friends with him too, hehe :)

      The whole idea of him having a clubfoot has been recently refuted. Still, you can see that the show hints at it by showing child Tut walking with a limp at the start. But more recent studies have failed to find evidence for such a disability.

    Although highly fictional, I still enjoyed this miniseries. Between Egypt and Greece, I wish there was more series like this on tv and in movie theaters. Of course to be historical accurate but these figures of ancient history would make great movies, great tv

That tells the true story of Tut.

    Though movie directors will not stop to show huge armies in ancient times fighting each other in haphazard hordes, they actually never did, at least not until the very last stages of a fierce battle when the lines have totally shattered. To deliberately BEGIN a large-scale battle as a chaotic melee would render all strategy and all tactical training pointless. You wouldn't even need officers and NCOs. Victory would just depend on chance, or on the numerical ratio. In reality, there are Sumerian and Egyptian images from as early as 3,000 BC showing troops in close battle formation, protected behind a wall of shields. Everything else would've been military suicide, of course. And while it may have been the rule back then that kings and army commanders would lead from the front lines, this surely didn't mean throwing themselves, on foot, headlong into the very thick of the killing.
    Another inaccuracy in the series is that the Mitanni king is depicted as a black African, since the Mitanni were a northern Semitic, maybe even Indo-European, people whose short-lived empire was situated in Syria. On the other hand, the Egyptians are portrayed as so light-skinned that they barely could pass for Arabs or even, say, Spaniards from Andalusia. Very strange.

    • @dvrmte
      @dvrmte 4 роки тому +3

      Actually I think the Egyptians are too dark. DNA results show they had little if any black sub-Saharan DNA. Max Planck Institute's DNA findings show that ancient Egyptians were more closely related to both modern and ancient Europeans than modern day Egyptians. They were white people with a tan.

    • @br137
      @br137 2 роки тому

      @@dvrmte They were not, stop trying to push ur all white fantasy. Max Planck stated they shared most dna with people from the Near East never have they stated Europe and certaintly never "White people with a tan" whatever that means.

      @@br137 You're in way over your head, racist. The study stated what I said, Ignoramus. This is a direct quote from it. You said that they didn't say Europe, liar. I'm not Eurocentric. If anything, I'm a Caucacentric. LMAO Caucasians are the Heralds of Civilization and Master of Animals. Caucasians can have skin that ranges from pale white to medium brown, and have hair and eyes of many colors. Caucasians can change colors like a chameleon. They are the true people of color. Caucasians built all of the first advanced civilizations in each of the world's continents. They are the indigenous people of North Africa, West Asia, and Europe. Kick rocks.
      Schuenemann et al, 2017
      "We find that ancient Egyptians are most closely related to Neolithic and Bronze Age samples in the Levant, as well as to Neolithic Anatolian and European populations (Fig. 5a,b). When comparing this pattern with modern Egyptians, we find that the ancient Egyptians are more closely related to all modern and ancient European populations that we tested (Fig. 5b), likely due to the additional African component in the modern population observed above."
      Also, the genes for light skin were common in ancient Egypt, according the remarks of the scientists that worked on the facial reconstructions using genetic data from Max Planck Institute. According to the David Reich Lab at Harvard, the genes for light skin originated in the Middle East 22-28,000 years ago. Blue eyes originated in the Levant 42,000 years ago. That puts blue eyes originating on Egypt's border with the Levant. LMAO You don't anything because you've been miseducated. You don't understand reality.

    This is just crap, like it or not. The series producers should have come up with something a bit more credible and true to what has been discovered about the boy king so far. The latter’s wife, for instance, desperately tried to marry a Hittites prince when Tut died, trying to avoid the inevitable oblivion (and possible murder) by the hand of Vizier Ay.
    All in all, in this miniseries Egypt is depicted as some century-old Theme park (quite a cheap one for sure), where pharaohs wear sneakers with thick rubber soles (especially when jumping from high ramparts), are already familiar with the term “quarantine” and their wives are extremely fond of glittering nail polish! Not to mention some ridiculous hieroglyphs which not only make no sense at all, and Ben Kingsley’s thick cotton sock with sandals.
    Why didn’t they browse AT LEAST one real history book about ancient Egypt? Why spoiling the whole show with some ridiculous and very cheap B-movie like moviemaking? They might have given Tut a Casio G-Shock watch as well, to be worn along with his outrageously stupid jewelry and garments!
