I am 62 years old and 25 years happily married but I have had a crush on this woman since I was a teenager. If she walked in my front door I would probably walk out with her.🎉
I know "Believe" is CHER's biggest hit record. It was #1 for an astounding 7 weeks. It was also #1 in 22 different countries. CHER was 51 years old when it was released. That made her the oldest female singer to EVER have a #1 hit record. Quite impressive from a lady who has had a top 10 hit in each decade since the 1960's starting with "I got you babe" with former husband and singing partner the late Sonny Bono. All that being said, this song "Heart of stone" from the album of the same name is far superior of a vocal performance than "Believe" which a lot of electronics are used in. It blew me away at how popular "Believe" became because I really never thought much of it. It seemed very light weight when I first heard it and not really a great song to dance to at the club but what do I know, right? Don't get me wrong I was thrilled for CHER to achieve such an accomplishment in her long career where she is given such little credit as a singer or actress for that matter despite the many hit records, films, television by the industries. CHER has still NOT been inducted into the "Rock & roll hall of fame" They induct Janet Jackson for crying out loud but NOT CHER? CHER should have been inducted a long time ago if not for her contribution to music but for the music of "Sonny & Cher" as a popular 1960's duo like "Ike & Tina Turner" .Tina was later inducted for her own music.
