Wet Wet Wet - Love Is All Around (Leppardized Guitar Cover)

- I've always been a really big fan of this song and I think it's one of my earliest memories of hearing something played a lot on the radio. I think it's a timeless version of the track and Wet Wet Wet did a great job with it. Although it's obviously associated with 'Four Wedding's and a Funeral', these days it always reminds me of 'Love Actually', which then reminds me of Alan Rickman, which then makes me impersonate his voice...much to the annoyance of those I am with. Anyway, I hope you like my attempt at 'Leppardizing' it. There's some cool guitar parts in it and probably a full solo at the end but it only gets brought up in the mix at a couple of points so I try and do my own thing while segueing into them.
Dedicated to my VVVPFW on her birthday week! xxx
'Leppardized' is my way of adding interesting guitar parts to a song that has little to no guitar in it, in an attempt to make it more like the Hysteria era of Def Leppard. Although really it is just an excuse for me to play over pop. :)

I use a Charvel DK24 (it's purple) into a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09 into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X.
F.A.Q.
My headphones are purposely like that so the cable stays out the way.

Это потрясающе! Всегда смотрю вашу игру с большим удовольствием. Это лучший звук из 80-ых ктороый я слышал. Preset тоже супер!
Smashed it, best version I’ve ever heard of this great song! ❤
Great cover. Man, I remember this song being everywhere back in the mid 90s. 1994 right?
Awesome t shirt.
I have one similar, but I'd love to get an acid wash type T like yours.👍
Awesome song!! Great job as always Ben!
Love this song even more with the leppardized version. Cool!
Love when the power chords come in , great job Ben 👍👍

"Yep, solid gold shit maestro"

Rock weddings 🤘.Great as usual buddy 🎵🎸🎵👌
Awesome, as always 🙂
A good melody that gets repetitive, which is why it cry’s out for the instrumental addition you have provided. My major problem with your covers is that they are so much better that they become my preferred version but I can’t add them to my streaming library! I love your work.
Mesmerizing
Took a chance, first time hearing this. Beautiful.
Beautiful arrangement by WWW and I've always loved Marti P's voice. You have made the track even better; great cover!
Beautiful it’s like you read my mind on all my favourite songs and enhance the best parts in it through your amazing guitar skills hat off Ben your covers always make me have goosebumps x

Beautifully played
i remember videos mtv this song!!
A song originally by The Troggs, a British rock band
Certainly was.
Do you mean Bill Nighy who plays Billy Mack who sang the song in the movie? "Don't buy drugs kids, become a rock star and they give it to you for free..."
Well, yeah he does the song but when I’m reminded of the movie I just think of Alan Rickman’s character
Magnífico !!!!!
excellent awesome
Awesome rendition man! 🤘🤘🇮🇩
One of those near timeless pop-country-esque cross-over tunes that gets onto multiple charts and markets. Exile, Little River Band, Ambrosia, Player, New Orleans (Dance With Me), Walter Egan (Magnet and Steel; related to Exile and Alabama by way of somehow), Paul Davis (Cool Night), Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show (Sharin' The Night Together, Firefall etc. etc. etc.; all that AM Gold goodness when originality was the thing for a while before the cookie cutter (same old vanilla sweet biscuit) not even one hit wonder but 1/4 at best match light poof and it's gone blip-of-a-hit for something practically the same including the bootay shakin on camera we have today. Woot. Run on sentence, run sentence run! Run, Logan? Soylent green is what?!? Das seven tees.
There’s a lot there that I don’t quite understand but thanks for the comment
Exile to Firefall, are all bands and artists most circa 1970s to early-mid 1980s. AM Gold, a marketing term for AM frequency radio stations before FM (reference Steely Dan tune of same name "...no static at all...") in the States. Bands and artists who made their mark prior to the advent of FM frequency bandwidth (not sure about it in the UK and Europe) would often get featured later in their career and often after a line up change or breakup on compilation records (vinyl, 8-track and cassette) through various television offers with little snippits (short clips with just the tune's hook) of their best known hits. A collection. AM Gold then became, at least here in the states, a term used to market/sell/promote the reselling of those AM Gold styles and sounds of those late 60s to mid 80s bands and artists during an era where originality was for a time the norm compared to the current state of music today where it's not even a one-hit wonder (over night sensation release that puts a band/artist on the map where sometimes it's truly just one hit; one tune/song, then nothing) but a blip thus the 1/4 hit seeing how today's hit songs are blip here then blip gone a 1/4 on charts compared to the longevity and consistency of an older era. Back then, like in the case of Wet Wet Wet the bands/artists had multiple hit tunes/songs that would get airplay on rock, country, pop, AOR and other genre radio stations at the same time so the term cross-over was used because one song did well on several charts, several genres gaining broader audiences/listeners, back then; radio stations specialized, usually, in the States in one specific genre, market and audience. Much different today where it may be either a mix of many genres or something where blocks were used what's called college radio or public. It meant, block time on a radio station with a DJ or show with more than one host for rock for say, 4 hours; then Country (aka country n western), then pop, then disco/dance, then hard rock with even a block time featuring an entire album/project or live only. A variety. For examples of similar in influence to this remake by Wet Wet Wet (originally by The Troggs) try: Alabama - Take Me Down; Exile - Kiss You All Over; Player - Baby Come Back; Ambrosia - You're The Only Woman; Paul Davis - Cool Night; Orleans - Dance With Me; Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show - Sharin' The Night Together; Firefall - Just Remember I Love You; Walter Egan feat
Stevie Nicks - Magnet and Steel. You'll hear some dual guitar work in some of them and of course sentimental lyrics of the lovelorn kind in all of them. "Run on sentence, run." parodies the line from Forest Gump, "Run Forest, run." With that into spoofing/joking about Logan's Run both the dystopian sci fi book and movie; into spoofing/joking with the famous line from the movie Soylent Green, "What is the secret of soylent green?" the protagonist (spoiler alert) finds out, "Soylent green...it's people." All that confusion in some my random-ness regarding how music has in some ways deteriorated in a kind of dystopia. Now days, a hit song may last a few days for another quite similar one to replace it like cookies (biscuits) made on an assembly line in a factory. Even music videos and "live" performances so cookie cutter- clone. Near same choreography, lots of it, often the same dancers and moves that so many for what ever reason they consume like so much junk food.
Hey Ben awesome playing! just had two questions for ya, was wondering what gauge strings you use? also wanted to know when you fast alternate picked that part at 3:33 does your wrist and shoulder tighten up, or your whole arm is loose, im trying to speed up my alternate picking but feel my wrist and shoulder lock which doesn't allow me to play any faster.
Hi, I use gauge 9s on myCharvel but I’ve got 8s on my Jackson which I quite like so might change my Charvel to that too. Yeah you have to relax to get it up to speed, which is a lot easier said than done.
Sou fan dessa música. Ficou muito bom meu amigo parabéns Deus te abençoe sempre...eu tinha 18 anos .1995

Great Song!!
Just out of curiosity, do you use a metal pick and heavy gauge strings like Phil? You’re able to get that sound
I use a metal pick but not heavy gauge. I used 9’s and 8’s.
