My suggestion for Wings progression in the game (this is only Expert Mode and up): Fairy -> Butterfly -> Hoverboard -> Betsy -> Celestial Starboard Horizontal speed and mobility over flight time and ascent speed. Plus, all Wings, even the Fledgling ones, have at the very least a 150% ascent speed, that’s good enough I’d say. But not all Wings have good horizontal movement speed, most are about as fast as the Unicorn mount or Terraspark Boots, and the hover ability in some wings is VERY VERY important. Best way for me to dodge bosses is by going completely horizontally, not vertically or diagonally. Once you get the Soaring Insignia, flight time is irrelevant anyway, and if you want to increase your vertical ascent speed just equip the Frog Leg.
back in the day i used to play with my friends on an ipad and the reds wings used to be an easter egg and they would fly forever when they removed it i didnt have them but one of my friends had like 30 just in case he lost them and gave me one. wings will never be the same but it definetely makes it alot more challenging without infinite wings

@@HydroCay I know I'm not probeman but I would recommend using the weapons crafted from the pillar fragments. For mage use the glove thing from nebula fragments, for melee if you have the runway made of asphalt use the solar flare because it goes through blocks, for summoner I recommend the stardust dragon but use 1 stardust cell if you can craft both, and for ranger If you have bad aim use the gun from fragments with chlorophite bullets but if you can use the bow, I use holy arrows normally but if you want you can use other ones
Are you able to stay ahead of him on your minecart and dodge the beams? Might be tough. You could try an asphalt bridge with master ninja gear and something like the fishron wings to get out of the way quickly. Alternatively, a fast mount can also work and save a couple of accessory slots to use for damage or defense boosts. Build a house for your nurse with a bed at one end, so you can beam back for a heal. Don't linger, you don't want to get her killed.
Height just stops mattering when you equip the soaring insignia, meaning the only factor to consider is speed. As far as I can tell, Betsy wings are the fastest wings in the game short of endgame, so they pair nicely with it.
-Vyorus- Teleporters are very expensive to set up, the portal gun is endgame, and pylons have way too much effort involved. Also, most bosses are best dodged on a horizontal plain.
-Vyorus- Most events mini bosses are good examples. Betsy, the Martian saucer, ogres, almost every pillar (ESPECIALLY solar), dreadnautilus, etc. Even outside of that, due to the circumstances in which you fight her, plantera is a fight that values horizontal space over vertical for obvious reasons. Golem especially values horizontal mobility.
-Vyorus- Moon lord, too, mostly values horizontal mobility for the most part due to the near-necessity of getting as far from him as possible. Also, I literally stated within my comment “Fastest wings short of endgame”. And that, objectively, endgame items are used for nothing.
Steampunk wings are good as a starter before you take on the pumpkin moon, but I prefer the pumpkin moon wings because they’re infinitely less expensive to reforge.
I'm still kinda new to terarria but I've gotten the demon, angel, harpy, fairy, butterfly, fire, and after fighting mothron 25 times for the terrablabe I got 2 of the mothron wings
I'm on mobile and finally got my fishron wings as my 1st wing in my main world. And boy boy how my ocean is a graveyard with a about 3000 potion+food we're spent with about 23hr of farming the worms and this was done master mode haha. Took about a month of thinkering and dying just find a way to kill his ass before any other bosses hardmode and let me tell you it took me a combination of 4 classes and about 200 platinum coins spend on Npc's trying to figure something out . Lots of thanks to your guide's they helped me allot in progressing my world and character. Pls do make a guide or at least a few tips of Tera Prisma mobile.
Nice work, that's dedication! Tbh I never try to defeat Duke Fishron that early, and I have my doubts that I'm good enough to get the Terraprisma. But I did put some recommendations in my Empress of Light guide.
Also worth noting that the giant harpy feather can drop prehardmode which can be useful for letting you get wings quickly in hardmode Also note you forgot to do the active vertical ascent for the Jetpack Personally the Fishron ability to ignore movement penalties is particularly useful with Honey which otherwise has a drastic slowdown so I prefer using them over the lunar wings I mean the lunar wings are certainly good or even amazing but they don't let you move freely through fluids Lastly my OCD is unnerved by how you clearly haven't unlocked these items with that journey character >_>
Interesting, I don't think I've been lucky enough to have the giant harpy feather drop in pre-hardmode, but that would certainly be helpful. Always seem to forget some detail. Fishron wings + honey could help quite a lot in some situations. I've been playing very slowly through this world, keeping items for videos in separate storage, never mixing. It makes sense to use journey mode for video making purposes given issues with game time, weather, and events interrupting in previous versions of the game, but I just haven't had time to play through it (have now in a separate playthrough, though). Found out long ago that farming and collecting every item for every video via fully legit methods is unfortunately just not viable time-wise. Believe me, I tried, and that just resulted in rushed videos and missing things. :/
journey mode tip: The first thing that is best duped early is money, so kill some slimes, and you can get 999 platinum in one day start by researching the copper coins, then spam the dupe button, do the same for silver coins, rinse and repeat
The noise you make while chasing a Truffle Worm is completely gameplay-wise irrelevant. The Worm is programmed to automatically get away from you when you are a certain distance from it, so noise doesn’t matter. The silence of Beetle Wings whilst flapping could be nice for people who get irritated by Wing sounds though, although that is purely cosmetic.

Who else remembers the old exploit with the piggy bank to get Red's Wings? It was pretty risky seeing as many people's accounts were banned using this method. Ironic enough that now it's possible to get all the dev wings😂
Idk if your going to see this but reds wings was an actual developer item left in the game they had an infinite flight time i remember getting them from an exploiter on xbox lmfao.
Because technically they're Redigit's Wings. The community just shortens it to 'Red' so that's what he labeled everything when he put his developer set in the game.
Spectre staff with spectre mask for damage and spectre hood when you need to heal quickly. For accessories use full menacing and get a mana cloak for mana regen. A celestial emblem, sorcerer emblem, water walking or terraspark boots(if you don't have an arena) and a good set of wings(flame wings will do) stock up on mana potions and because the spectre staff is auto aim you can focus on dodging his attacks better
To get the angel wings, I need mythiril anvil, but my second alter didn’t give mythiril ore, so can I use the other ore from second alter to craft them?

Most of them are available on all platforms, but the stats are different. They did a major rework on the stats in 1.4.

Because technically they're Redigit's Wings. The community just shortens it to 'Red' so that's what he labeled everything when he put his developer set in the game.

Spectre staff with spectre mask for damage and spectre hood when you need to heal quickly. For accessories use full menacing and get a mana cloak for mana regen. A celestial emblem, sorcerer emblem, water walking or terraspark boots(if you don't have an arena) and a good set of wings(flame wings will do) stock up on mana potions and because the spectre staff is auto aim you can focus on dodging his attacks better

Yes, either mythril or orichalcum will work.

The fledgling wings can be obtained normally, from sky islands. Wearing rocket boots makes them fly higher.
