There's a federal halfway house not too far from where I live. Every once in a while I see guys from there. Everything about their vibe is tough, hyper aware and a wall with no windows around them.
Nassar was evil for taking advantage of those girls. Can't say he doesn't deserve what he's getting: a true living nightmare.

Hearing this shouldn't be cause for celebration. Not because he doesn't deserve it, but because hearing news like this highlights how rampant abuse is in prison, and most of the time it's not happening to people like him. The same guys who are doing this to him are doing it to people completely undeserving of it, often very young inmates who have no way of protecting themselves. It's a horrible environment and the fact that we all know this stuff goes on in there continually is a disgrace. There really isn't anything funny about it from any point of view.
It’s supposed to be horrible. People need a reason to fear prison so they can self police themselves when they are on the outside. It’s not supposed to be a day care.

For every Larry Nassar getting what we feel he deserves, there's some scared 20 year old kid who's in there for a minor crime and subjected to the most horrific abuse imaginable. There's absolutely nothing good about this culture of sexual abuse and rampant violence in prisons, it's not justice, it's not even close.

When I was down, there was this kid they did like that and they also told him to do other hustles for money. He came to my cell and asked to clean it for a token (for the pop machines). I was so disgusted by this guy and suggested that maybe he could pay ME a token for the privilege of cleaning my cell. I told him that his dad must be real proud of him and to get the fuck out of my sight.
U done time in America u blokes have a way different system to ours here is Australia we don't have county jails or federal prison from what I can work out if u charged with a federal crime u go to federal prison state crime state prison but if u remanded in custody are u held in county jails and there must b a difference between state n federal parole u can b charged with federal crimes in Australia we have federal police for importing drugs n shit or terrorism mainly but u do your time in whatever state prison u charged in
