Watch a full tutorial as a 2011 Chevy Traverse will have a brand new Dual Double Din Touch Screen Radio installed. We will be using the Dual XDVD269BT bluetooth radio. This vehicle does not have the factory BOSE amplified system or steering wheel volume controls so we are using a basic wiring harness adapter.
This video applies to both Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia models for years 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. This video also includes dash trim and stereo removal, radio wiring, and installation.
Note: If you have Bose, OnStar, and / or Steering Wheel Volume Controls, use the Crux SWRGM-49 Wiring harness adapter instead of the Axxess LC-GMRC-LAN-01 Wiring harness adapter.

Does this have the ability to redirect the backup camera from the rearview mirror to the radio screen?
WOOOOWW, I never knew a car could be so stereo replacement friendly! My previous vehicles were Jimmy's and blazers. You have to pull the whole dash face off with them and drop down a cover under the steering wheel to find hidden screws! Replacing this stereo is going to be a dream! Lol ty ty for this video, you just made my whole day.
Thank you so much! All I needed to do was jiggle some wires to get my display working again (for now). This video helped me get the side panels off which is exactly what I needed.
Oooooomgg your the Besttttttttttt. 🙏👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺 you made us a real easy about to do a aftermarket now I feel comfortable of doing it I'm a follow your instructions video step-by-step thank you 🙏🙏
This may or may not work on 2013-15 models due to the fact that they changed the style of the factory radio in 2013 (as well as the radio removal process). The latest year that this would definitely work is 2012.
The ultimate harness
Thanks again for providing me with my daily dose of inspiration. Thanks, Provo Beast!
Hey, good to hear from you Mr. Pig & Beef. Hope to see more content from you shortly.
@@ProvoBeastAudio hey man this goes for all chevy traverse like Lt and ltz right?
@@ProvoBeastAudio I want to install a aftermarket sound system and I have the bose sound system and controls on steering wheel but I'm kinda afraid that I might do something wrong
@@ItzjoshyVQ_37 Use this harness, takes a lot of the stress out of the install: amzn.to/3yyORLn Retains steering wheel controls and the bose amp.
@@ProvoBeastAudio thank you
Awesome video. Helped me tremendously. Thanks for sharing. GBU
Hi there I’m thinking if I get the Bose amp and all speakers and tweeters from a same year Acadia will it work out mind you I would need to get the insulation harness for the one that wires up for a Bose sound system correct
Do I have to disconnect the battery? The radio that I am going to install is a factory one but with GPS
Great job 👏🏻
I subscribed!
Amazing video, are there any newer units that would work for the 2015 traverse? My wife really wants wireless android auto. I know I'll have to buy that Bose adapter.
What about an installation kit for an aftermarket single DIMM radio? Removing the bad factory Double DIMM and installing a gift given Single DIMM radio now. Also what will be needed to keep the satellite radio functionality? Thank you!
Hello, how can I get sound out of that radio I’m not getting sound out of it we connect the wire, harness
When you completed this install did the chime for the key in ignition with door open and blinkers have a robotic/digital sound?
Is the GM LAN that is referred to the little box? Is that box required for the switched 12v to work? I used a metra wire harness that doesn't retain steering wheel controls (I never use them) and the indicated factory switched 12v never outputs power when plugging in aftermarket radio. Factory radio works fine.
I have the same issue on my wife's 2012 Acadia. Did you resolve the issue? If so, please help
Does the reverse camera works like the factory one? But on the radio?
If it comes with back up camera and you hook it up yes it turns on when you are in reverse
Hello there quick question I plugged in a after market radio and and the way i it supposed to matching all the colors someway somehow I don’t get power into the radio unless or I connected into another fuse how can I power my radio
Time to dig out the multi meter and check your wiring.
Do you have a wiring interface?
Would the crux SWRGM-49 work for the 2009 Pontiac g6 also? I have a aftermarket radio and when I hooked it up with the adapter I have nothing came on, along with the cluster
What if I have steering wheel controls, but no bose, which adapter do I use?
Does this support rear camera?
My father has a 2012 traverse with CD player and auxiliary port, both are broken so I’d like to buy him a new one. I can take out the old one and install the new one but somebody told me it’s going to need dealership programming to work, is that correct?
Hi
Can you replace your radio I have the same concern about need dealership support.
Best regards
I doubt that
Hello. I have the exact stereo you just removed. I just bought the car and I get a hiss coming through the speakers any time I plug anything into the AUX port. Any suggestions or fixes to this that you can recommend? I am not planning to replace the unit as it plays the DVDs for the screen in the back.
My stereo is locked
Does anyone know how to unlock it?
Is there a aftermarket radio for a 2013 chevy traverse?? Please help
Well yes, this video shows you can install a double din easily in your generation. The parts used work for any standard sized double din screen.
I'm just trying to figure out what part I need just to add bluetooth to my factory radio like the one you took out, except I have bose, and steering wheel controls. Which module do I need?!!! Nobody knows! Also, where's the old module?!
there are a ton of variables there on which module is needed. Send us a message on facebook or instagram and I can help.
Hi what is the color cable for the steering
What is the average labor cost to switch the radio?
around 300 parts and labor
I just got the same radio, however, I didn't get the adapter box, just a harness adapter. I wired color to color and have nothing when car is on.
You need the adapter harness used in the video. Link listed in the description.
@@ProvoBeastAudio I'm getting the adapter. Wife wants the steering wheel controls anyway. Lol. Thank you.
Adapter harness 2010 chevy traverse
Do you absolutely need the harness? The unit I got has a steering wheel control that attaches to the steering wheel.
@@randyschatz1299 her traverse had built in steering wheel controls for OEM radio.
Have you had any issues with the sound going out in the rain?
Late but door connections lol
Mine has a DVD player so will I still be able to use DVD player and backup camera in rearview mirror?
did you get the answer to this?
I unfortunately bought a different wiring harness that apparently needs a 12v+ power source. Any suggestions on how/where to provide the power from?
You need a smart harness. parts linked in the description of the video!
Hi bro, thank u, this work with Panasonic screen (rear) when you wanna see a video ??
This works with any standard double din.
@@ProvoBeastAudio ok. Thanks!
@@ProvoBeastAudio congratulations for your video
I need some pin or password to replace my radio ?
Traverse 2012
Thank you
Will I have to definitely solder any wires when making this change?
Not necessarily, you can use butt connectors or crimp caps as an alternative.
Do you need anything different for the rear camera? Mine has a plug in to the camera that looks like an older Motorola phone charger.
Sure, we can help you retain the factory camera (assuming that is what you are asking). Just send us a message on facebook and we can point you in the right direction!
How to I get the aftermarket radio to work to the stock over head tv on a 2008 saturn outlook
With this harness here: amzn.to/3pprIra
Iv got 2015 replaced the radio an now I can't hear my turn signals sounds any advice
Your trim requires a smart harness adapter. That smart harness adapter will generate your signal sounds. Linked in description.
Do you have the Bose??
I use wire nuts for all my stereo jobs, why not use them?
Wire nuts are used for the home environment, and not designed to handle vibration like in a vehicle. Use wire connectors designed for automotive purposes.
Also says the guy who took a dermal tool to his dash.
@@ProvoBeastAudio You saw my video! Lol! That was an experiment, plus the unit still works like gold, I'm going to release a new video on a newer unit on a Nissan Altima with the camera.
I have 2011 what is the size of the radio
Is there a dual din deck you would recommend with Apple CarPlay and would have a DVD player to output to the factory tv screen?
Dual has begun to move away from DVD radios, but Boss / Planet Audio still build one thats budget friendly: amzn.to/3sqXkA0
@@ProvoBeastAudio Thanks. Actually, don’t really need DVD, would just like something that will output to the screen for the kids. What would you recommend that would have the right outputs for this as well as have steering wheel controls and will work with Bose?
I have everything hooked up excatly but everytime I plug the harness into the radio it blows the fuse in the radio
Sounds like a wiring issue. Check connections and check wiring diagram.
You probably need to remove the negative terminal to prevent that
Question: I was messing with my 2011 Chevy Traverse LT Radio and I broke the tab that secures the wiring harness to the back radio. Only the clip that keeps the harness secure to the radio is broken. I really just want to fix replace the broke clip on the harness. Any recommendations? I'm only referring to all factory parts. I haven't installed any aftermarket anything.
You don’t need that clip I would just secure it some other way . I know it’s been months but no one commented 😂
@@michaelmartinez9602 No worries. I ended up getting new speakers and they guys who installed the speakers fixed the connector.
when i put a jvc radio on my 2010 acadia slt it doesn't work i have the right plig i put all the colors the same but when i connect the red and yellow together it turns on the radio but the park assist says off and when i try to turn it on it doesn't let me do anything can you help me
Sounds like a wiring issue to me. May be the wrong smart harness.
Is it necessary to connect black to a ground on the actual truck or is it all plug and play its my first time installing a harness like this in my honda i had to run acc to my fuse box and ground wires to a bolt within the body of the car
Ground is included within the harness adapter. no separate ground necessary.

@@ProvoBeastAudio cool thanks

I have a 2010traverse im trying find the right wire harness that plugs straight into my dash can anyone led me in the right direction
My traverse has a back tv how can i make the movie visible in the back tv not the radio
You will need this extra harness, and a radio that has a video output: amzn.to/3pprIra

And the rear camera working with that?

Where can I buy this radio?
I believe AutoZone has it and WalMart
Dual is the common Walmart stereo, I recommend it, I even have a video on the double din stereo
how much it cost
Parts linked in the description which show current price for parts.
I recently had my radio changed and the blinkers stopped making sound any idea what it could be?
You will need a smart harness to reproduce the singal noise as it was previously generated through the radio. With the radio removed, you will no longer have the audible nose for warning lights and turn signals unless it is generated in another way. Most likely the installer used a very cheap harness resulting in the issue. Wrong parts used.
