Thanks for doing this review, I’m an aerospace machinists and whenever I buy furniture for my home I always look for something that’s built to last like the vintage machines I use daily. My wife wants a “new” couch but the market for a full grain leather couch is pretty limited when trying to stay under $3k. I’m sold.
I’m between this and the dark brown option for the Essex sofa. I’m leaning towards the dark color since it is semi aniline and from my understanding that won’t scratch as easily? I have a large dog and a toddler and I just prefer not to see a bunch of scratches.
Great info and video. Would love for you to do a video on an Anthropologie chair like the Rhys Leather Chair in the Moore and Giles Wax Pull-Up Leather Echo color Lager. That is a popular leather for Anthropologie. Because everyone loves their home goods and always looking for cheap dupes. It would be great to know how good the furniture is and how good the leather is. Hoping one day you will talk about this type leather. I have a sofa in this type of leather and have this chair on the way to be delivered.
Please make a belt recommendation video. I bought a reversible belt for officewear 2-3 yrs ago and now it is starting to peel. Glad I didnt throw my moms 80s & 90s belt with waaaay superior quality than those displayed in shops. They just faded at the edges and hardware needs some cleaning but didnt peel at all after all these years.
Find a local leathershop. Many of them make leather belts. Also, you can tell if a belt is solid leather quite easily. If its layered, it will wear out and peel eventually. Get a belt that's made of a single solid strip.
Thank you so much for this. I am considering a leather chair for my husband. This video made me more confident about making a purchase with Poly and Bark.
@6:30 is that ketchup in the back beside the sewing machine? is there a use for it in your work or just for lunch? xD edit: oh i just finished the video lol my bad
3:34 is that your couch? We have the same exact one lol. Nice looking, appeared stiff at first but its fine now. The leather smells divine 🥰 My complaint is that there is no head support! Ofc, its mid century modern style. Expected but I didn’t realize that it would bother me as much.
Been following you for long and finally got my first leather jacket… and I suspect I’ve got scammed. It was from “The Jacket Maker”. They say they use “full grain” cow hide, I have got a jacket from them and strongly suspect it’s fake polyester or something.
Look at the materials tag in the jacket. They have to specify what materials it's made of, but only if it's leather/polyester etc. They don't need to say what kind of leather, that needs to be determined by touch or cutting it apart.
@@taoliu3949 The thing is that it’s not sure what jurisdiction they are operating in. Parcel was sent from Pakistan. Label says “real leather” but other than that it’s very very vague… All in all it’s very suspicious and I wouldn’t be surprised if they are just lying.
@@daddyjimbeam Depends on if they have a business operating in the US. If they do, then they can't really lie about that stuff. That said, real leather does not necessarily mean good leather. It doesn't even have to necessarily be completely leather. This is why I'm not a fan of online shopping, I need to see and feel what I'm buying.
All the people talking bout why destroy the chair, well, his job is to critique leather, so just chill.
Right. There shouldn't be so many fraudulent products out here. If manufacturers were honest this wouldn't be necessary.
love your work, keep going!! People may be underrating how valuable it is to find a creator that is actually a craftsperson/tradesperson.
Love the insightful commentary! Keep it up! Would love to see more about briefcases too.
Awesome job! Love these review type videos and the podcasts

Thanks. Ive been looking for a leather sofa. Good to know the leather couch is worth the money.
I bought the Lyon sofa after watching this! Do you recommend using leather honey conditioner?
We just ordered a couch and two lounge chairs. Thanks for the review.
Please do the revive chair by natuzzi …they say its top grain but i doubt it

What couch is it
Hi are you familiar with DeMelierLondon bags? I hope you can do a video with that new brand , Thank you! More power with your Channel!
Your amazing continue God bless you
I'm only sad because I wish I had a nice chair like that to sit in lol
How to seal the couch
One thing I’ve noticed is some cheaper couches use fake leather on the sides and back, and only have real leather on the seating areas
Do they ship worldwide
They ship to the continental 48 US states!
is there actually a way to disassemble the materials without destroying them? would have been cool if you put it back together after
Noooooooo 😢😮😮😢

Kids look 100% like mom
Whhhhyyyyyy.why waste a perfectly good chair. Handbags I understand but not this.
Educational purposes
Also the manufacturer may have given it to him
Wonder how many cows had to be sacrificed for this yikes
One cowhide, which is a waste product of the cattle industry. It would otherwise be incinerated or processed for gelatin.
Do you eat steak? If you do, shut your sanctimonious pie hole up.
None, because they would have been sacrificed for their meat already lol
