I was about to give my sofa away and buy a new one until I bumped into your video 3 weeks ago. After watching it I had a big smile on my face and went straight to my laptop to order from Amazon.when the kit arrived I watched the video again and again to Analyze before I went into here goes nothing mode and guess what I am surprised about myself and the sofa we did a great job, thanks for Saving me and my sofa a lot of money.
I remember when we were growing up, a commercial came on TV for something called "Liquid Leather." The thumbnail of this video brought that instantly to mind. Why, yes, I am old.
I’m glad I found this. Thank you for showing this. Not ready to give up on my recliner. Still works well just has a big hole in the armrest. Just ordered this product.
Wow. Thank you. Outstanding. I’m going to use this on my ‘06 Subaru leather seats. Saves $ and great for environment. We throw away so much stuff. Has deep meaning in relation to ppl, also. God bless brother
Such a wonderful tutorial. I bout the same strip in black about a year and four months ago . Repaid a couch cushion but I first sprayed the area with spray adhesive. My young son has been rough on the cushion and it’s only lasted a year and month. I have bought the strip again and this time I am not gonna use the spray adhesive and will also give the strip 24 hours to adhere to the cushion without use .
I have a wonderful faux leather couch that I was gifted but now the leather is tearing apart and it needs repair. Thanks for the video. Your idea with the sock is a great one!
Was looking for some good DIYs to repair some corner bits of a white leather couch (and chairs) that got torn up by pets. I think this is the best video I've come across so far. Watched like 4 other ones and I saw the leather didnt quite "blend in" on those. Probably cheaper than calling a furniture repair service!
This is definitely something to do to extend the life of your furniture. It's not perfect, but when you don't have a lot of money to blow, it will do. This project was for a ratty old chair that my son used in college. The funny thing is, the patch material outlasted the rest of the chair..
Hi, Phil and hope yall are eating tasty treats. A few years back a neighbor got a lead on a 2nd hand Pride electric chair. I got it, had to replace the up/down control and pigtail and try ad wear it out. So far, so good except for power outages but I can flop out of it. Hope all is well and the fish are having to work overtime to replace the ones yall are dragging out. Have a wonderful week and a Jesus weekend!
I can tell you it lasted one year of college for sure. However, the rest of the chair was busted at the end of that second semester. The material truly outlasted the chair. lol! That chair is now in a landfill somewhere
Could I use something like this for a barber chair? It's my pride and joy have it 8 years... its obviously got a a lot of traffic at least 10 to 20 customers 5 days a week... what extras tips could I possibly use? I don't want to go get the whole chair repaired.. just need where the bum meets seat aha
If you need this chair for your job, buy more than enough of this material and cover as much of it as you can. In fact, you could write the expense off at tax time.
Funny you ask that! My son just came home from college for Thanksgiving break and I asked him how the repair was holding up. He said it is the best part of the chair. L O L! He said the rest of the chair needed some more of the patch done to the original fabric that was peeling away. I'll be honest, I was pleasantly shocked. My college boy is really hard on things which is why we gave him this old chair. We will probably buy more of this stuff and repair the rest of this old chair to get him through college..
at 0:30 in the video, I believe it says "dark Brown", however, i'm sure that's for this brand. other brands might have different names. hope this helps.
@@PhilCrockettI agree. People are just commenting dumb stuff what you did was so smart that you can save money and buy things that's you really want instead of buying a new chair.
Why? If the chair still works, why not just repair it? Our grandparents (or great-grandparents) use to do this all the time. Things were expensive so you would repair, DIY or repurpose. It saves money and landfill, stops the cost of manufacturing and shipping a giant new piece of furniture, and means you can get more cost per use from the chair.

Glad it was helpful!
I'm going to give this a try Phil...my couch and chair have damage on the arms only. Don't want to part with them.....
definitely worth a try
how thick & resistant in time is the material.. same for the glue? will it survive 6 month/1 year of usage?

How to get this product.
Wondering how many weeks the repair lasted?

How to purchage
What color are you using? I have a couch like the one in the video and want to buy the right color. Thanks

How many rolls do you think I’ll need for my sectional sofa? I prefer the size you have
depends on surface area that needs covered. You'll have to measure it and see.
Is there any way to blend in the edges with the old leather
Probably just buy bigger sheets and tuck them in the sides of the cushion cracks
Will this work on a backpack?
I have no idea, but there's only one way to find out! Let me know how it worked.
Thank you!
You're welcome
Quiero comprarlo café oscuro que cuesta
Tendrás que investigar el coste de lo que quieres comprar en Amazon

get a new chair --- you guys are really cheap
We are not cheap, rather, we are frugal. The more money I save, the more money I can gift to those who don't have much

I grew up on a farm, this is just my culture. Waste not want not
I loved the tips, but please send that boy off to school with this thing.
