Now that's impressive. I have the painting skills of a 3-year-old. You really captured the essence. Right down to that famous Alco sound where one isn't quite sure if it's running or in the process of throwing a rod through the side of the prime mover engine block. Masterful work. I may have to reach out to you one of these days for a commission.

That's an amazing wiring job! I would never be able to do that without screwing something up.

Thank you thank you thank you for doing this. I have 2 Life Like Proto 2000 GP9s and 1 Life Like Proto 2000 GP7. All three are painted Illinois Central but I want to strip them, add some details and then re-paint them for the T&P. But I have not done anything with them since I could not find information on what to use to strip the paint with in fear of damaging the shell. Plus I did not know how to remove the handrails with out the possibility of damaging them. So thank you thank you thank you for these 2 videos. You have saved the day!!!!

Excellent video, you forgot to mention that specific decoder for ESU you do not need resistors for LEDs, bur for other decoders and models you must use at least 1K resistor

I don't know why they would use plastic handrails on an expensive loco. I hate the sound of HO DCC sound. It sounds so tinny. I'm strictly a DC guy. Atheran are the best models which I have besides the Atlas. I make my own rust for weathering. I take 2 rolls of 0000 steel wool and put it in a quart jar and fill it with white vinegar and set it in the window for a couple of months. Then I pour the mixture into a stainless steel 11X14 inch photo processing tray (any flat container will do) and wait for a couple of weeks for it to dry. I use a single edge razor blade and pulverize the "rust" into a fine powder for use as a weathering powder. It looks real 'cause it IS real rust. I usually heavily weather all my rolling stock and old engines. I've got three new Atlas engines I'm a little cautious about weathering, but I eventually will do it. Cheers from a 72 year old modeler from eastern TN

I love this. I'm trying to make a Utah Railway in this color scheme. I'm freaked out because I don't have any talent.

Well, that was amazing. What would be a ballpark cost of changing the decoder with the weight alteration, the led install, and weathering the loco?

Excellent work both inside and outside. There aren't many out there that can competently handle both electronics and painting.
