I love your videos and your attitude toward the naysayers who think they know it all. I’m trying to mimic your lawn concepts to my lawn and it’s coming along nicely. For me it’s a slow process but thanks to you I’m learning to be proud of my lawn with it’s imperfections and just keep trying to make it better.
I like how your style has gotten a bit more flamboyant over the years. Hope to one day see you on my feed wearing huge sunglasses and a boa scarf whilst mowing.
People don’t know nothing when it comes to gardening, a lot the things we do and don’t do are urban myths. Peat moss isn’t great for the environment so Connor it’s great to see you using an alternative.
Keep in mind that raw sawdust increases microbe counts in soil which will use nutrients in the soil, leaving yellowed turf where the sawdust was placed from being nitrogen hungry. Potentially could create new seedlings that are starved for nitrogen. Sawdust to help with moisture isn't something I've thought about before, very creative.
Yeah Connor- listen to Brian so your bare areas fill in. I’m excited to see the follow up video on the progress. I swear I’ve seen you seed those bare areas 3 or 4 times already. Hmmmmm? I wonder why it won’t fill in?
Conner, thanks for the recommendation on United Seeds. Turns out they’re headquartered in the town I grew up in. Going to stop in and tell them you sent me. Thanks for the great videos!
Love your videos. But I am in Mississippi and know nothing about grass. How do I know even where to start on a house we just purchased. I want that full green grass yard!
Dude you rock. Most people talk about seeding like it’s a delicate concept. “You gotta be super careful etc.” it’s bullshit! Good seed to soil contact, fert and some sawdust. BOOM! Shit will grow. Just don’t by big box store seed people! Spend the money on good shit!
Looking forward to a follow up. We use a lot of straw when planting new Rye and Fescue, but have an unlimited supply of sawdust around and I wasn't sure how it would work so we skipped it. I would love to not buy straw anymore.
Hopefully your seed does not rebel and wash away again. I used Peat moss and it is expensive. Like your idea on the saw dust. Looking forward to seeing your results I just put down some Arden 15 on 1/2 acre. Looking forward to seeing the results in a few weeks. I heard it is a slow grower.
Don’t want to be an internet lookie loo but our sprinklers were doing that. But in nozzles that put out less gpm and had a nice rain curtain. There’s probably some math that you can do to figure it out per zone but it’s another good feel it out project.
When I seed a putting green we will lightly moisten the seed bed and roll it in. Tiny seed like bentgrass or Kentucky bluegrass will press into the seed bed nicely. You own a proper roller (not the plastic water filled things), so might be worth a go if this doesn't work. I'd think sawdust would be fine though. Anything but straw.
ive got that same spreader bought it for 7 bucks at wally world. best investment ive ever made. such a space saver , looks like yours just needs a quick adjustment.
For the sprinklers you got to fan them out more/ push the screw down into the stream of the spray more. yeah it reduces the distance but you should never space them out to the max distance their supposed to spray, you take the number imbetween the min and max throw distance
Connor, are your nozzles in your sprinklers held in with a grub screw? If I remember right you had hunter pgp ultra. Tighten down the grub screw so it interferes with the flow of water to create a curtain.
Interesting seeing you use sawdust Conner! I'm a woodworker so I have plenty of that! I tried Peat Moss before, but my lawn has a fair slope especially in the front so it easily gets washed away. Texas thunderstorms. I have had really good success using lightweight rolls of burlap to cover my seed, and it holds it in place really well.
If u seed perrenial rye at the same time at Kentucky bluegrass, doesn’t the perrenial rye grow super fast and not allow enough space for the kbg to germinate? I’m assuming the perrenial rye will grow tall and not allow sunlight to the kbg seeds
Are your sprinkler zones low on pressure? When we moved in ours did the same thing. Renozzeled the system to get pressure up to 50 psi and it performs totally different.
As long as the roundup has dried then you can seed. I just threw the extra sawdust in the back lot on the ground. Ha ha. Seed bags would have been better
Im curious, isn't it too early for a fall seeding, or a bit late for a spring seeding? Is it because of the altitude? Are summers in colorado cool enough for a good bluegrass seeding?
@@zeroturn7091 Last week, Japanese scientists explaced... placed explosive detonators at the bottom of Lake Loch Ness to blow Nessie out of the water. Sir Cort Godfrey of the Nessie Alliance summoned the help of Scotland's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally.
I have those sprinklers in my yard hunter pgp’s...I hate them. After an hour of watering, almost half my yard is always dry. I’ve tried adjusting them so many times I just can’t get the rain curtain effect.
@Bradford Pear I want to replace mine with the mp rotators but I probably need to dig a trench in my lawn and add another line with about 3 more heads just to get complete coverage.
@3:34 Did you say you sprayed ROUND-UP?? It was my understanding that that stuff would kill everything it came in contact with, INCLUDING grass and seed (and your dog, and your kids...) Evil stuff. Did I hear wrong? Or am I grossly misinformed on how Round-Up works?
Glad you used that spreader. Instant success 👍
It's the RK special
At current lumber prices Connor just put gold flakes down.
I bet Mrs Lawn Rebel has reminded you that your new neighbour has built an entire house and garage in between you starting and finishing a shed.
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂

Brilliant comment. 👏
LOL!
This is not a how to channel, this is a how Connor does it channel.
Not a "how to" just a "watch do"
You're DANG RIGHT

NICE..... that is awesome to hear
Dude I haven’t seen your channel in forever and then you popped up in my feed with a mullet...nice! Well done. 🤙
Time to subscribe!
What's up with the mullet?
You remind us all that this hobby is fun. Thank you.

😂
Saw dust on grass seed......wow that will work! I have never thought about that or heard of that before. GREAT IDEA!
Yes it works well
Your use of saw dust is great, I have plenty of access to this resource but have never used it, other than garden paths. You live ,you learn.
its all about the feel. You fricken kill it every fricken time. Don't ever change. Cheers
Has one of the thickest lawns I’ve ever seen, throw more grass seed on top of it. Freakin Legend!
yes.. this is the secret.. not really
Oh my god, the mullet god 😍
Thanks for all the nice tips, my lawn is looking veery good because of you.
Keep it up Connor.
Putting sawdust down is genius. I am going to have to try this. Thank you for this video!
I don't even watch these videos but thumbs up is 20 bucks and 20 bucks is 20 bucks
this video epitomize exactly why Connor is a lawn legend......

I hope it germinates quickly for you. Thanks for the video!
13:05 what a big difference. Nice dark green color
Results speak for themselves Connor. Your ways work just fine.
When you live in kbg grass paradise, seeding during a heat wave is a fine thing!
Yep. It's perfect actually
Nice lift flex - huge gains!
It looks like the areas you plugged filled in nicely. Turf is looking on point. Good luck with the seed germination.
CW killing it! In a good way. 👍
First Aussie 😁. It will look good when seed takes , as usual , the Rebel way will work. 😎👍👍
Someone sponsor this man a garage organisation system
curious what the date of recording was? I have some spots I want to seed, but I am reluctant because we're getting into the heat of summer
Lawn looking goof this year man!
Got my Bewitched kbg from United Seeds a couple of years ago. I recommend them too.

@@lawnrebel - I was just foolin’ about. Your turf looks spectacular. Almost as good as mine does.....
I like the way you roll
Good luck with the seed, Connor. It'll be good to see the bare spots fill in, especially after all that work you put into it.
Thumbs up brother, You hard working Man.
The lawn is looking great Connor. Can't wait to see it once the Dahlias go in!
I use shredder leaves for bare spot overseeding. It works good.Seems to hold moisture well.
Love the mullet brother
I wonder if Connors other neighbors said the same thing when the Lawn Rebel tore out his trees???
Ready to see the results. Now! Now! Now!
Love the shout out to knorr 😂!
Love your videos... and attitude! Totally a Rebel 🤘
I’ve never seen someone use saw dust for top dressing that’s awesome! Chicken feed method is my favorite way to spread!
7:17 "high foss" i love it!!!
Just wanted to poke in and say your camera quality is 👌👏
"Double check that seed isn't fescue" Ryan Norr 🤣
Hey Connor, where are the flamingos this year? Greetings from Slovenia (Europe).
In hibernation. Pretty sure they are about to wake up
I feel like you need to do a vlog. You are an interesting person
@Bradford Pear yeah but vlogs are usually everyday
Dude you rock. Most people talk about seeding like it’s a delicate concept. “You gotta be super careful etc.” it’s bullshit! Good seed to soil contact, fert and some sawdust. BOOM! Shit will grow. Just don’t by big box store seed people! Spend the money on good shit!
Exactly how I feel
how does teh saw dust breakdown fast enough in where it dont smother new grass growth? wow nvr used that b4, free too vs. 4$ small bag of moss
Hiya Connor…the lawn beautiful but I love those pavers/ front area..☮️👍👨🏻🦱…and I tellin United seed you said give me good deal!👏👍🤣
Good idea with the sawdust! I'll have to try that technique.
Should water the seeds lightly so that they maintain soil contact and then throw the sawdust down. Water lightly once more.
Looking forward to a follow up. We use a lot of straw when planting new Rye and Fescue, but have an unlimited supply of sawdust around and I wasn't sure how it would work so we skipped it. I would love to not buy straw anymore.
I just go by the feel. Today I felt like it went heavy. Water it in 🤣🤘🏼
If you run the nozzle set screw in further it will "fan" out the spray a bit more.
Do you avoid mowing after you seed in those areas? How long do you not mow in/around the seeded area?
Hopefully your seed does not rebel and wash away again. I used Peat moss and it is expensive. Like your idea on the saw dust. Looking forward to seeing your results I just put down some Arden 15 on 1/2 acre. Looking forward to seeing the results in a few weeks. I heard it is a slow grower.
Never would have thought to use saw dust..thanks for the tip!
Did you really put round up down then seed the next day? Does that work?
Yes I did. I did it on purpose. Yes it worked. The seed is up and growing
Lawn Rebel seeds right smack in the middle of summer, he is a rebel indeed.
Summer here last about 2 weeks so I'm good
This was an amazing how to video! I like that use sawdust as a covering, not many people use sawdust but if its free it will work
I’m going to my local lumber place this fall and using the saw dust. The “proper” amount of peat moss is expensive for larger lawns.
Yes it is. SOOOO expensive
Good luck with the seed pal, fingers crossed for you :)
I met Jimbo at the Ryan Knorr/Lawn Tips meetup. That guy LOVES grass.
gday Connor from Australia. WOUld it help if you used a light groom verticutter to lay some sweet tracks in the soil and then drop seed?
Yes it would for sure. That was the reason that I used the power rake first
@@lawnrebel indeed!!! its going to look super

Hope it’s grows well for you and does not wash away. If it grows the lean is going to look sweet👌👌👌👌 lobe the vids👋
sawdust pulls moisture aware from whats underneath does it not?
I like the hat. Do you have a link for that?
ive got that same spreader bought it for 7 bucks at wally world. best investment ive ever made. such a space saver , looks like yours just needs a quick adjustment.
Mines junk

Connor vs Conner
I've had success covering grass seed with grass clippings to prevent birds from stealing the seed and to hold in moisture.
Your troll game is 🔥!
LOL... its no joke here folks.. those comments have already shown up on this video if you read them
Hair looks awesome haha
I like the sawdust idea. That’s what they put in hyroseed. So has the same concept
If u seed perrenial rye at the same time at Kentucky bluegrass, doesn’t the perrenial rye grow super fast and not allow enough space for the kbg to germinate? I’m assuming the perrenial rye will grow tall and not allow sunlight to the kbg seeds
Yeah pretty much
That saw dust is like calling out every bare spot in your yard 😂
I hope the neighbor watches your channel! 🙂
Are your sprinkler zones low on pressure? When we moved in ours did the same thing. Renozzeled the system to get pressure up to 50 psi and it performs totally different.
Genius with the sawdust
How do you counter act the seed growing with roundup in the soil? Left over saw dust can go in those empty grass seed bags.
As long as the roundup has dried then you can seed. I just threw the extra sawdust in the back lot on the ground. Ha ha. Seed bags would have been better
I've been throwing down fert for... . Oh idk 6 weeks now. And I always just leave it wide open.
Do you use a fancy golf course grade post emergent herbicide or a generic?
Conner your turf is beautiful, is your whole lawn is a mix of KB and PR or just the bare spots you just seeded ?
I love this guy
Im curious, isn't it too early for a fall seeding, or a bit late for a spring seeding? Is it because of the altitude? Are summers in colorado cool enough for a good bluegrass seeding?
When Conor imitates the internet trolls he reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite
He does have the Utah thing down for sure. My friends from there sound the same way, loved that movie!
No doubt in my mind, they would’ve won state if coach put Conner in.
