    I have read that you have to recalibrate the optical vew finder to focus accurately every 1 year or so. Is that correct? Thank you

    • @LeicaCameraAustralia
      @LeicaCameraAustralia  3 роки тому +2

      It is only necessary to re-align and calibrate the rangefinder mechanism if you are having genuine problems focussing. To be frank, it's frequently operator error when it comes to mis-focussed images. It's not at all uncommon for a camera to be brought back for 'focussing problems' only to find that it's still perfectly adjusted!

    Would prefer 1/shutter speed as auto setting .
    Are there any Histogram setting variations ?

    • @LeicaCameraAustralia
      @LeicaCameraAustralia  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Stuart.
      There are no histogram settings, it's a greyscale composite. The auto ISO does have 1/4f, 1/2f and 1/f as options, as well as the fixed shutter speed limits. 1/2f is a good compromise. 1/f can be a little on the low side with a 24MP sensor unless you are very careful.

    Hello, I would like to see the service menue with the shutter counter. How can I access it?

    • @LeicaCameraAustralia
      @LeicaCameraAustralia  2 роки тому +1

      You will need to use a third-party software utility to read the Exif data from the camera's images. This is not something Leica support but a quick Google search should give you the info you need.

    Thank you for your explanation. I have one question what is the function of the button on the right back of the camera.

    • @LeicaCameraAustralia
      @LeicaCameraAustralia  4 роки тому

      Can you be more specific? Are you referring to the control buttons? if so, the centre one is for selecting menu options as well as cycling through different rear LCD display modes.

      Hi Benny. That's the rear thumb wheel and can be set in the menus to dial in Exposure Compensation or magnify the view in Live View. To me it makes most sense to use it for Exp Comp.

    What memory do you recommend for the M10 P?

    • @LeicaCameraAustralia
      @LeicaCameraAustralia  2 місяці тому +1

      Any decent SD card is fine - 90MB/s is plenty. The M11P does not shoot at 20fps so high write speeds are less critical. High speed cards are only really necessary for video, and to speed up downloading the images to your computed.

    How about fotos?

  • @rogerhyland8283

    Hi Nick. I have recently bought an M10-P and found this video very helpful. I also purchased the Visoflex EVF which I’d also like to comment on. Allowing for the fact this is only my second day shooting very briefly with the camera. I was wondering about highlight clipping. Is it meant to show when you review the photo on the camera. I find it very hard to see if I’m happy with a photo if the highlights are blinking all the time. Obvious solution is to reduce exposure prior to shooting and avoid the highlights but sometimes I dont care too much about highlights in the background, just the want the exposure right on the subject. I’ve been through the Capture Assistants menu and tried to turn off clipping but as soon as I exit back to the main menu clipping is on again. At the moment I’m finding it really distracting. I come from the world of Fuji and I have never used it and never found I really needed it. However If I was more comfortable with the camera that might change. I found myself pretty well unable to use the live view today due to the bright sunlight and thought I should try the EVF. It does solve the problem but it mystifies me at the same time. I know there are many purists who don’t even want live view screen, let alone evf. Fuji has the same class of user. I am a total convert to using the evf, although I also prefer the optical viewfinder at times for focussing. I have been spoiled by a system that offers optical and electronic viewfinders depending on your preference. The two things I noticed using the Visoflex is that the unit partially blocks access to the SS dial, which to me is an engineering design fault, not what I expected from Leica, and I have to say for a company that prides itself on the aesthetics as well as the engineering, having a big black chunk of something squatting on top sort of defeats the design. How simple it would be to have a rangefinder viewfinder that could operate equally as an EVF at the touch of a button (or menu setting). I hope that doesn’t sound unfair. It is simply my observation based on my experience. I’d be grateful if you have any advice on that highlight clipping question.

    • @LeicaCameraAustralia
      @LeicaCameraAustralia  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Roger. As you surmise, if you turn off Clipping in the Capture Assistant menu then the flashing highlights should no longer be visible anywhere - LV or Review. Not sure why that's not working for you. Try pressing the Centre Button to the right of the rear screen to cycle between Info on and off. I don't have an M 10 body handy right now, but will will do in a day or so. I'll edit this comment when I can see for myself. Regarding the EVF blocking the SS dial, I only ever use Aperture Priority combined with Highlight Clipping and Exp. Compensation on the thumb dial ; as such I have honestly never noticed this.

      @@LeicaCameraAustralia Thanks. Perfect solution I think. On another point. I recently discovered that the little red arrows and the red dot in the viewfinder are how you check exposure on a Leica. Never knew this. It solves my evf problem as I will mostly prefer not to use it unless I want extremely accurate framing. It is harder these days with so little printed info given with cameras.

    • @LeicaCameraAustralia
      @LeicaCameraAustralia  3 роки тому +1

      Dot only = recommended exposure. Dot plus arrow, half a stop under or over. Arrow only, one or more stops over or under. Turn the dial in the direction of the arrow to correct.

    Question to all: I had two frames out of 80 or so pictures have some corrupted stripes and glitches on the bottom 2/3rds of the frames. I use a 280 speed 128GB sandisk card that was formatted in an iMac as ExFAT. Is that appropriate? Don't want to have corrupted images again. It may also be the card read I'm using on my iMac.
