This was excellent information! You said some ruin tours may be free. As a solo traveler who do you recommend for ruins tour/guide and safe transportation there?
I visited xunantunich and the altun ha ruins, both of our guides were awesome and the others seemed super nice too. Youll be chillin with whatever guides are there at the time, i didnt get the names of the people who helped us personally. And for transportation i recommend the shuttles from the nearest city. Theyre very popular tourist locations so theres plenty of options for your trip there and back, and theyre probably cheaper than getting a taxi
Its a pretty small country so everything is really close by, they know a lot of tourists are going to come through so im sure they have buses that will let you off directly at the ferry. Getting around the whole country, even city to city, was super easy when i was there 👍🏻
I forget the exact names of them but all 4 hotels i stayed at were pretty decent. (The names should be listed in this video or in my other belieze vid) The placencia resort in placencia was the nicest one by far so i highly recommend that one. And the one in san ignacio was a close second. The ones i stayed at in Belize City and san pedro were considerably less nice. If i were to go back, personally i think i would look into hostels instead of resorts for a much cheaper price. Hopefully this helped at least a little! 🤘🏻
A friend has highly recommended Belize, so much so, she wants to retire there. It talky does look beautiful. I normally Airbnb when I travel. I wonder if there is much of that there and what is like.
Ive never been to hopkins so im not sure about that one. In san pedro i stayed at Caribbean Villas Hotel and it was cool but pretty simple, it was in a really cool location though. Not bad but you would probably be able to find something better. In San Ignacio i stayed at the Cahal Pech Villas Resort, it had big rooms, an awesome pool, a bar, and it was great. I highly recommend this one 👍🏻
Hi, we are going to San Pedro for a week. Are credit cards widely accepted or do we need to take cash for all our restaurant and activities we want to do?
Im not 100% sure about credit cards, but most places seemed to accept debit cards when i was there. The safest bet is always cash though, people in belize are really big on just using cash for everything so thats what i did personally. The exchange rate is easy too because its exactly 2 to 1 (assuming its still the same as when i went). And if you have any belize dollars left over, its a nice souvenir to bring home 👍🏻
I was planning on going May 11-15 2022.Are there any all inclusive resorts out there on the beach? We would fly out of LAX also do we need a Visa to enter the country and provide a negative covid test on the way back into LAX?
Im sure there are multiple all inclusive resorts since its a popular tropical destination, if youre okay with paying for them, but im not 100% sure since i didnt stay at any of those specifically. I didnt need a visa, i just needed a passport and negative test when i went, and of course a negative test for coming back since the US is really strict with that kinda stuff. I recommend checking with Dr Google to find out all the current restrictions for traveling to belize since the laws and regulations are constantly changing nowadays. Sorry i couldnt be more helpful lol but have a great time in belize! 👍🏻🍻
@@ralphbarrios590 probably not corona, they kinda have their own brands there. The national beer of belize is called belikin, and its the usual cheap decent beer. They also have some others that id never heard of but were pretty decent. Overall beer is pretty cheap in belize, but youll definitely have to experiment with some new stuff
I don't know if there are any all inclusive places in Belize, if there are, they will be on San Pedro, but I wouldn't recommend it anyway, I nearly always go for all inclusive, but Belize has so much choice of places to eat and drink, suiting every pocket, that it isn't worth the cost, add to that, drink is the same everywhere, Belikin and one barrel rum are the two most popular drinks. You don't need a Visa, but must have proof of your intent to leave within 30 days. I have no idea about Covid restrictions between the two countries.
Personally i didn't go island hopping, except for going to and from ambegris caye, so i can't speak on any of the other islands. Im sure it would be a ton of fun but probably much more expensive. I hear caye caulker and the surrounding cayes are a cool spot though 👍🏻
I only visited san pedro on ambegris caye so i cant speak for the others, but ambegris was awesome. Its the most known one by far so its kinda expensive, but its where a ton of attractions and good restaurants are located 👍🏻
Beliken Beer is the best!!!! also Belize City is not the capital, its the city of Belmopan. Those are the only cities we have. all the rest are town and villages.

Cash preferred 2_1 but you still pay American / European prices for a third world country 5% charge usually on cards especially in the Cayes

I went with a tour company called EF ultimate break that drove us everywhere. Way less stressful, but also much more expensive
