Most information on UA-cam on Belize seems to be from tourists that fly in for a few days and then fly out so this was great. That and info pushed by real estate agents. I’d love to hear more!
Thank you! You're not wrong there. Let me know what kind of info you'd like to hear more about. I'm working on a round up of the different districts and what they are each like.
I visited Belize at least twice for close to 6 months each time before Covid times. PROS : 1 the rural living (no hurry) 2. the friendliness of the people 3 close to southern mexico CONS : 4 no real night life except on the island 5 housing comfort sub par (need for airconditioner)
I'm interested in living there for at least 1 year, possibly longer. Could you please suggest 3 areas of the country to live. And living near the beach is not important to me... Gracias 🙏
Sure thing - I'm actually working on a video with 5 areas to consider! Also do you like quiet or active? Definitely depends on what you like. Quiet would be a place like Punta Gorda, in the deep south, or active would be the Cayo district, or along the south coast. More to come in next Sunday's video (next week).
@Superliesgebeest0 Well, maybe you should make a video about it. So she forgot to mention the Mennonite Community, but other than that, she is pretty accurate about Belize overall. Remember, she is sharing her journey from her experience.
Living in a small island like that with just golf carts makes me think Gilligan's Island. If like to be more involved with local culture, if possible. I'm sure it was cool in many ways, but limited in terms of wanting to see other natural parks, to and cultural events. Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! And for sharing. Yes It all depends on what you enjoy, for sure. I already had spent so much time elsewhere and I knew that's where I preferred to be, plus frequent visits to the city where I also had friends.
Yep I agree Belize is unique! Even if historically there are links to Mexico, with a shared Maya heritage as well as migration in northern Belize back in 19th century.
Maby because ur black but u didnt mention the memmonites. U have no real view on how it is to live in belize . U have a tourist view. Real life is not as pretty as u view it. But i do agree its a beautiful wonderful place. But u havnt witnessed real life. Its hard. U either have money and ul be fine. Ir ur screwed. Asically thats it.

@SkyDivine8 I understand it's her view. But she hasnt experianced belize as it really is. Yes the tourist view i get that. But i can tell you that aint the real belize. Real belizians struggle yes there are some fifty rich bit the majority struggles to survive. And it's different races that kinda work together but still are separate. Hence I mentioned the Mennonites.
@@Superliegebeest0Thanks for your comment - I did completely forget the Mennonite communities (which I visited several times) and it was unintentional. As for the struggle, sadly that is true for most places in the world today that inequality runs deep, so I hear that. But this video is for those who clearly can afford to move and are considering doing so, which is a privilege in itself.
As a Belizean, I say that's about right. Thanks for your accurate content. 👍👍I hope you come back again soon. I love my love my Belize 🇧🇿.

I have to agree on the pros and cons you mentioned, the cities have the nightlife and places like Placencia.
Been wanting to visit for so long! I’m gonna get there 🎉

Expensive/cheap has a different meaning to different people on the planet.
I visited Belize a few years ago. I would definitely visit again but it's not for me as far living long term. I like a larger city environment.
Thanks for sharing! Yes I can see what you mean.
Thinking of moving to Belize? 🇧🇿

You should use proper spelling and grammar if you want to get a point across.
