They should have a “sponsor” mechanic were the more you used a certain brand and stay loyal to it. You get supply kinda drops with rare weapons, character skins, shield, or etc from that brand.
Actually there is something like this in BL 3. You have to achieve certain steps with one brand and then you get skins etc. But dont know if its cars, guns or player skins... or all of em.

Obsolete Excellence well borderlands 2 was proven to have over a million guns with different combinations and in that there was like 200 weapon parts. In this there is over 1500 so I’m pretty sure this will have a billion

there are 250 guns in borderlands 3. there are 50 levels, and approxiamtely 5 guns for each level.
there is not 1 billion guns.

The model and texture teams must be huge- also glad its finally over!
Hitting me right in the nostalgia pulling a clip from n64 perfect dark. That laptop gun was hell to face but you felt unstoppable if you had it and deployed it in the right spot.
I really want there to be a Tediore legendary that is literally just an exact ripoff of the laptop gun. That'd be sick as hell.

Weapons styling definitely looks very very nice. I wasn't a fan of some blocky designs in B2. Alot of guns looked like they were built out of lego

The only guns I like in BL are pistols, SMGs, assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, and RPGs. And also grenades and abilities. But that's really it.

Let's be real, the COV guns do "reload." It may not be traditional reloading but the length of the animation to cool down the gun is the exact same thing.

The idea is that _in theory_ you could fire until you run out of ammo. Once the little overheat gauge fills up your gun isn't guaranteed to overheat, it just now can at any moment if you keep firing. If RNG is on your side then you could get super lucky and keep firing for an extremely long time. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a legendary one which either never overheats or overheats extremely slowly.
I would like to find some kind of crazy legendary prototype gun, with the red text "Be Human"
If anything, it'd be interesting to see how many people get the reference.

I always did appreciate the entertainment that the weapons alone brought. Such a uniquely styled game.

It would be cool if they added a sort of collectors hoarding space in-game so that players who want to collect all guns as a crazy challenge can do. But they could make it where once you slot the gun in the 'storage' it would stay there forever so tht players wouldnt be able to extort it for actual storage space. Orr they can just have a 'book' or record keeping mechanic like in warframe where all of the guns are alredy kept track of and you can see which ones youve alredy collected even if youve sold tht gun alredy but traded guns wouldnt count. It would also be a cool way to sort of appreciate all of the guns that they spent the time to create, since im sure im not gonna be able to try all billion guns.

chilling-boy I seriously doubt the number is that low. Borderlands 2 has roughly the same amount of legendary guns if I recall correctly. There’s no way they would remain pretty much the same or even downgrade from their previous game.

ProAssassin84 ya my bl2 has some rough servers and always disconnects when i join others/friends. They join me fine and other games i never disconnect. Only bl2. hope that gets fixed.

LinusMLGTips borderlands 2 had around 90 (if I remember correctly) different gun archetypes (which is what you called “base guns”, they’re more accurately described as gun archetypes). So logically thinking, if they’ve had a long time to work on this, then they’d probably have more than 90 and not downgrade from their previous game. However, if you’ve never played a borderlands game, can understand how it seems kinda janky. For example, if you the same sniper rifle with a barrel from two different manufacturer, then the gun can act completely different. If it has a Vladof barrel then it behaves in this spin-gun type of manner. However if it has a barrel from say Jakobs, it will fire pretty regularly like a bolt action type of sniper. So even though in games like modern warfare, where you can put a suppressor on a gun, it doesn’t mean that the gun fires and acts in a completely different way. Yes it makes it silenced so that you don’t appear on the enemy minimap, but it doesn’t change the way the gun actually fires. For example, it doesn’t turn a assault rifle into a scout rifle or make it semi auto. (The only attachments I can think of in COD games that actually changes the behavior of the gun would be things like select fire, flamethrower and the noob tube.)
Im new to borderlands ever since handsome edition was free for psplus and i really enjoy it so far but can someon explain to me why the stocks and scopes foregrips etc they can be different on why it matters
They'd better not be pulling my leg again as they said this in BL2. After awhile, you realized there were only 3 or 4 real styles of guns.
If you watch closely, the line up of models they had on that screen are just the same guns just with different colored skins. The billion guns is an in-series joke.
On a different topic, I still hate the fact that you throw Tediore guns when you reload them. Why can't it be just the spent clip so you get the feeling that you "ended your enemies rightly"? Also, nothing is wasted lol since you shoot out all the ammo and then use the clip as a grenade.
Could you take it one step further and let us swap parts on guns? Like if i prefer the scope from one gun, put it on another or maybe even a special ability from one gun, swap that to another and then let us make our own combinations from the guns we find?
This is great and all but it’ll make farming for a specific weapon with perfect parts even harder if not near impossible.
