Thank you
It's the Delta for me!
If this video reaches 30.000 I am doing detailed explanation of this or even a series.
Looks like I'll have to watch this 7000 times because I absolutely want the detailed explanation now 😁 awesome stuff man ! Great guitar chops !
Very thorough and entertaining presentation! The subtypes of blues overlap at times, of course, but this is an excellent audio description of the basic styles.
Almost there!
we almost there guys
@@MaxTovstyiMusicso we getting that explanation???
Beautiful! No talks. Only examples. Valuable Blues education.
2:15 I smiled like a dog when I saw texas blues text... because I was about to hear SRV
delta blues 🤩🤩🤩
C'est la vie.it's life 😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
My fav is dev delta blues something about the slow dark swamp almost country sounding guitars just🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽
A fan of the slower minor blues sound before I even knew what to call them.. west coast, delta and psychedelic blues are my favorite
This was the best blues explanation that I already hear. Very nice, man. Very nice play as well.
The Delta Blues sound deep and authentic.
Out of all the sub-styles in your video, I had to play that section over and over.
Delta Blues is my favorite and it sounds the best of the best💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful and useful!!! thanks a lot!!
One of, if not the Best video I’ve seen in months, very impressive and educational
Thanks apparently pandemic inspired me to do something I need to do more
Love it brotha...love it!!
Excellent! Really like how you broke down these genres. Keep them coming.
They are all really beautiful.
But my 3 favorites are:
1) Delta Blues
*(the only on that gives me goosebumps)*
2) Psychedelic Blues
3) Jazz Blues
I will do an acoustic video for you then with proper delta
I would add ZZ Top to the Texas Blues list, for sure. They are often overlooked, as far as playing the blues goes, by too many folks. Saw them live and I am so happy that I did.
*R.I.P. 'Dusty' Hill*
Well to me they are more of a rock band rather than blues
@@MaxTovstyiMusic if you haven't heard much of their early stuff, like pre-MTV ZZ Top, then you're really missing out.
Super useful. Thanks for posting
Thanks for watching! Please subscribe and I will do more
Many thanks for sharing this amazing list!
You play beautiful, that's the blues just feeling 👏
Watched jimmy vaughn last night I love blues but don’t know a ton about it. It’s what I’ve been playing on my guitar lately too.
Some super old guy opened for jimmy last night he said he used to play with muddy waters honestly he was awesome
Hey Dude, you made my day. Great playing and feel. Wish you the best!
Hello From France !! Great playing. It would have been perfect with a few words for each sub-genre explaining what makes it specific: The use of a particular scale, the accents on the major third, etc... Good video though !!
I am thinking about new video and will include all that you guys asked
Olá do Canadá!
Wow! Excellent skill, very helpful. Thanks!
Excellent video!!!! Thanks for sharing

Nice, Max.
Hello from Bangladesh.... Very nicely described the types of blues.....really now easy to identify....thanks...
Nice! This video will be a reference for me
This is so helpfull i been playing guitar 4 more of 10 years and I never cared of anything, i just like to play I ended up for develophing a style of playing I don´t know what a hell im doing but I hear my playing very familiar whit something, so thanks to this video now I know what im doing, the jazz/blues is my style and I get it from god knows were. i always like rock so maybe is from there.
Just say 14 my friend, 4 more of 10 years sounds almost like a riddle my dude. You didn’t care for anything not of anything also my guy.
Good job man!
Nice, thanks!
Thank u - Thank You - Thank ya! ------- Great video
Nice video. Would be great for a before and after reference when studying the different types.
Looking and waiting for a new type of Blues
Thanks, Max!
thanks for watching!
BUENISIMO!!!
Muito interessante!
Very interesting!
so sweet... you should do some blues series how to...thanks again man
I am thinking about it, some of my videos become popular and some not, so I am trying to figure it out so it is not just a waste of time
Would love to see that breakdown of the different styles. Here a comment for aldorythm! lets go 30k.
Amazing video and amazing playing!! You should add some examples of funk and fusion blues that came out of the seventies, like jiro inagaki, jaco pastorius, cortex, and nucleus
Then theres also alot of great swing and big band blues (ex big bad voodoo daddy, seatbelts)
I have never heard about them, I think they’re too rare, i mean I knew bands who played doom blues and all that but that’s not really the blues
J'adore 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😘😘
Great video!..SRV had many Delta tunes but then again lines are blurry between the genres and you rarely if ever hear someone who only stick to one subgenre .. Blues is blues
Also country blues he played
I'm with you. I've played blues for 40 years. Those different styles evolved in different areas, but we are exposed to it all, so it's natural to mix and add new ideas to it. Hendrix and Page brought new things to it, and any player should feel free to do the same. Some like to be faithful to keep the styles separate, and while I can do that, I'd prefer to mix and add.
@@jonathanhathaway7796 you can break down blues so much the work songs, Songs like Rosa Lee Hill’s music and boogie-Woogie are all their distinct things lol
What does the blues in Mercy by Duffy fall under?
I would like to see a lick breakdown of this video
I can do it
@@MaxTovstyiMusic Then do it. 😐🤘
@@DoodlesHD719 Watch, listen and work it out yourself. It's not hard
@@MegaLotusEater tag your breakdown video then
@@DoodlesHD719 Whether I make a video or not has no bearing on the point I just made
Bb king in his lattter stages of his career woukd have played some jazz/ blues
What are the backing songs for this?
Chicago and delta were always my favourites, what a nice representation!
❤
whats make the differences? is it only riff or different scales? or only backing track and guitar sounds?
sometimes the approach, sometimes the manner of playing, the sound too, licks too, but yeah, hard to tell the difference
Nice video. Just wish the type was a little bigger
Nice but your reference of Alvin Lee as west coast blues is incorrect as were many others... Not being critical just pointing out misses and hopefully you will check out some of these - West Coast - Johnny Moore, Oscar Moore, Pee Wee Crayton, Lowell Fulson, Along with some modern day players such as Hollywood Fats, Júnior Watson, Rick Holmstrom , Kid Ramos, Little Charlie, Kid Andersen, and many others That embraced what the originators started. Alvin Lee was a British blues based rock guitarist It really should not be listed.
Buen video, saludos desde Uruguay
What genre of blues is it when they sing with distortion like they're singing through a CB radio?
Rock music or blues rock
Memphis: good bbq, god bbq Sauce, great music
This is a good vid and your playing is superb but I'm pretty sure Brit blues is more akin to Rock'n'roll than actual blues. While they may have covered blues musicians a lot, I think they had plenty more in common with Chuck Berry and Bill Haley than the artists they paid tribute.
Jazz blues kind of deserves some In Depth Look...
I agree, I am not too good at jazz but you’re right.
One question. Are blues and jazz separate or is one a subgenre of the other?
Those are two different genres tho there are many jazz songs that have bluesy feels in it like All Blues - Miles Davis etc by playing I IV V progression and some jazzy feel for blues songs like Stormy Monday etc.
@@MaxTovstyiMusic k thx for the info
Someone should explain what Rhythm & Blues is. (Not me)
You've got some ronnie van zant vibes
Interesting, never been a fan of his, but thanks
No Detroit style blues?
...and ALL on a strat ...
Yes tiny hard to read font
Im kinda sad i didnt see any finger picking thats my kind of blues with blind boy fuller and blind blake and such but to each their own i guess
Side note you forgot piedmont blues also sorry for being that dick
I will do the second part soon
It all sounds the same to mee.
Yeah. That’s the idea.
sounds about the same
While I appreciate the effort and I certainly cannot play as well as you, I didn't think you caught the style differences very well, particularly the particular sound timbre of some of the musicians would have helped. Much of the music was the same tempo and the solos could have been an example of most of those styles (but not all).
Filthy playing! Great playing and vid.
That’s what I thought it was explanation of the fundamental and subtle differences between the styles. Nope just soloing
Totally BS, all of those were just some average electric guitar noodling.
