I'm currently reading The Great and Terrible King: Edward I and the Forging of Britain. Which was shown in one of these I believe. I love the recommendations I get from these library tours.
This crucial subject, yet no personal memo? 😜 Nothing, nada? Am I simply just a crazy cat lady to you? Am I not a personal self proclaimed expert extraordinaire of this here Sexy Sir Sidney himself? And all these Byron bios, goodness. Tsk tsk. Sidney's letters would be amazing to read. At the uni library, I flipped through his bibliography of books he had in his collection. Alas, we had nothing in common. :( A moment of feeling truly crushed to discover we'd probably have nothing to converse about. Amazing how much distance exists within a couple hundred years! I'm sorry to hear about your library, it sounds like a great loss. Thankfully you're ok though. 🤗
I love to see your bookshelves. Makes me want to read some of the biographies I have kicking around my shelves that I've bought and never opened.

Seeing that John Gardner book made my day. I adore his novel Nickel Mountain.
I am a Virgina Woolf fan and I did miss that biography, thanks so much, added it to my list! :) great bookshelf!
I’ve loved all the Van Wyck Brooks I’ve read Steve - so he’s not dead yet!
"Most of the rest of the book is of little worth." Classic!
John Wayne??? Ohhhh, John WAIN. Ha! That’s what I get for listening while multi-tasking. Lesson learned - eyes on Steve!
EYES ON STEVE!
Nice!

You could talk about the weather! (and about ME, come to think of it ...)
The fire sounds like a nightmare.
Well, I missed it! And I've re-built most of the books I lost, and my beagles were safe -
Glad you're re-examining Eliot. Somehow doubt you can be persuaded over Pound. Strong views:

Hah! No, I think Pound is a lost cause (I STILL get comments about that piece)
