Good to hear Old Filth mentioned, Steve. Loved the whole trilogy but still reckon the first was the best👍. Jane Gardam is such a talented author with such a variety of themes for her novels and short stories. Love the Brattle Hauls. Thanks!
I was there yesterday, got some fantastic books - including a facsimile T.S. Eliot's The Waste Land which is fantastic. I have been using the Green Line to get to the Brattle, maybe I will try the shuttles.... Enjoy the books in good health Steve.
What a great haul! You find some awesome books at The Brattle! I live a little over an hour away but would love to visit it someday! I love going into bookstores with nothing particular in mind and coming out with gems!!
Ha I’m Irish, German and Italian it’s hard to run a guilt trip on me 🤣😂🤣😂 I myself had a doctor appointment a little over an hour away from where I live, so to treat myself I stopped by the Barnes and Nobles and of course walked out with 9 books 😁
Ok. No spam. Genuine question. You mentioned “fixing up” The Murder of the Man Who Was Shakespeare. How do you go about reinforcing books? That seems like important information. I’ve got a number books that need fixing up. Hardback and paperback.

Desmond Steward died in early 2022 at 87, Steve.
Well, to quote a great movie: “That’s no excuse for laying off work!”
@@saintdonoghue that made me laugh outright, Steve. Pity there'll be no more books from an historian who could write.
