Are the other ones ACTUALLY funny? I love John Oliver and I know his humor is often dry, but I am 7 more minutes in and so far most of the items have been more about him speaking to specific topics with quips and name-calling than him actually being classically 'funny'.

For me, this list needed when John left his “void” and blew up the year 2020. That moment was hilarious, meaningful, and exactly the kind of ridiculously over the top stunt and use of HBO’s money that the show has come to be known for.

I was 68 on 7/1/24. I remember a time when news was a public service whose cost was absorbed by the broadcaster. Then in the mid 1970’s?? some genius decided the news department could be a substantial profit center. Truth built on the facts of whatever story stopped being important, and sensationalism became the name of the game in news!!
A bit like Bill Hicks was not appreciated properly in America, and loved in Britain, the opposite applies to Oliver. I loved all his stuff back here in the UK, but he sure didn't get the love he deserved :)

I love that you had to make this a top 30 because he has so many amazing moments. His show hasn’t gotten so many Emmys for no reason I watch it every week. I’ll even have it on in the background playing old episodes or the new seasons being released with the full episodes instead of the cut down UA-cam versions, the show never gets old.
Greatest late night host ever! If you have a chance to go to a taping of his show, do it! I was in the audience for the Subway show and adored every minute. It has been said in a number of comments, but John Oliver really is a treasue. We are lucky to have him.

I would like to say how irritated I am that John Oliver is now not available until Thursday on UA-cam. Genuinely, this channel has some quality content, I was a bit cynical when I first started seeing these top 20, top 30 vids all over the place, writing them off as vapid and shallow, but they're not, they're really well put together. 😊
He is hilarious but also his show brings up important facts...we all should be watching this and researching what he puts on his shows...its scary how much of how/why our world does what it does we are not aware of.
He is definitely worth a watch. I will give you this warning, the humor is great but the reality he lays out is also often depressing. Just something to be ready for.

I always love a good John Oliver compilation, but the title for this one feels a little misleading. A lot of the clips shown, especially the first two, are some of his more serious moments, not so much his funny moments. There are some exceptions (Chuck E. Cheese, FIFA, We Got Him, and Eat Shit, Bob, for example) and I was very happy to see those on here, but if you're going for his more funny moments, I would consider including things like the AT&T jokes, the running thirst gag with Adam Driver, the Thomas the Tank Engine skit, the cabbage wedding, Chiijohn, Bird of the Century, and the wax president trailers. Just to name a few.
This is bonkers as I prepare myself to go back to Edinburgh Fringe shows but it was those shows 20 years ago I first saw John. I’m annoyed England let him go, but I’m glad America lapped him up !
