Hello, I absolutely love how you put your kitchen. Up front. Not many people do this. Most people have their vans pretty much the same way. I think yours is maybe the 4th one ive seen with the kitchen behind the seats. I have a vintage 1985 van and I built it out. I actually re did my vans kitchen and put my kitchen counter behind my seats as well. Two differences. One, I put a drop leaf between the counters to walk between them to get to my driver seat in case of emergency. And two yours is far nicer than mine is. First time watching a video on your channel, subscribed. Great van conversion, well done! It’s bright and homely, got everything you need and is very well organised... courtesy of Ikea I see 👍. So pleased you kept the bulkhead. They’re there to do a job, baffles me why people take them out! Love your little reading lights. Great loo.. that’s all you need, bags and cat litter or vernagel, that’s good. If you’re desperate for a shower you could hang a shower curtain from cup hooks in the ceiling, cord threaded through the holes where the curtain hooks go; for the base a fold up dog bath which fits to any available space, then put the pump from a usb rechargeable camping shower into a Jerry can filled with warm water. You can even put the pump in the dog bath to reuse the water so that you can have a longer shower (no different to sitting in a bath), saving some clean water in the Jerry can for a final rinse. Safe travels!

What a lovely van. I like that they don't keep their fruits in a hamac but in a basket instead. Tefal Ingenio, I always wonder why van lifers don't use them more. They're just a big space saver.
Thanks! We were inspired by 'vanlifesagas' and their ceiling. It's heavy but we love it. We used a layer of ply which we painted black, and then (I think) 12mm strips of stained ply glued and screwed in place. Then filled the screw holes. Tom would know the exact sizes so let us know if you need it. :)
Well when you’ve limited water you don’t fill a sink up and pile in your dirty pots, you have a dish on the side containing a little water mixed with washing up liquid, and a little water in the sink. You sponge each item individually and then rinse in the sink. You don’t waste water that way and a puny (not punny) sink is all that’s needed. Anyway the worktop space is more important.
It is small yes lol but then we use less water that way which is great. Plus Mama Kim is right, we really hate having too much washing to do anyway. And we love cooking or use the space for a standing laptop station so worktop space for us was far more important. :)
Hi! At the top and bottom of the blind is a strip of ply, the one at the bottom weighs it down and allows us to roll it and the one at the top is secured to the top of the window cladding with a washer and screw. I hope that helps? @vanlife_sagas have a video about how they made theirs which might help! :)
We officially both fit through! Our battery died and the alarm went off so Tom had to get through to disconnect the battery temporarily! And then a latch on our door broke so until it was fixed the hole was the best way in and out! A great workout I can tell you!

Great build. This is basically the design we are doing. But with the ability to turn the benches into a single bed for our daughter. Looks great!

How did you secure your cork curtains ?
