  • On to the next job! We head over to a different condo for more weekly mowing and edging as well as more hedge trimming. I really have been like the Husqvarna battery power trimmer, so much so that I am switching over to battery power hedge trimmers (but not string trimmers...they aren't there yet)

      Depending on ground material, sometimes it's easier to blow clippings off then mulch them with a blower/mulching vac. Best with variable power control.

    I have a love/hate relationship with the battery equipment from Husky. I purchased 2- 536lihe3, 2-520ihe3 and 1-520iht4. All have been in for warranty motor replacement several times. I was given two new units under warranty, both of those were also in for motor replacement. That's a total of 7 new units all of them have failed, plus they have had replacement motors fail multiple times as well. I thought the 520iht4 with the brushless motor would solve the problem, but it's in the shop as I write this. I'm approaching 40hrs of travel time dropping off and picking them up as well as being without the use of the equipment. I was forced to buy a couple of gas units to have some dependable equipment. It's so frustrating as our crew loves using all the battery equipment we have, they perform very well when they work. They are used approximately 6hrs a day 5 days a week. 30yrs in business, they are the most unreliable equipment we've ever used. 🤬

    I thought the same thing. But the electric models and batteries are phasing models out quick like car companies. That means new models have to be purchased. The gas models are built with better materials and last longer. My first Stihl product is 14 years old and works like new. Electric trimmer from 2 years ago cant get parts anymore. Im also not one for having batteries made by children.

  • @6977warrior1
    @6977warrior1 4 роки тому +1

    Nice hedge trimming job, considering they are way overgrown. The homeowner/HOA should consider having them replaced with smaller/easier to manage bushes. Mine are also way too overgrown and I insist to my landscaper to trim them way back, but he keeps saying too much may kill them. But I actually don't care and want them to either die off or have them pulled out. So I'm buying a cordless 40v hedge trimmer this week and doing it myself.

      I really like the Husqvarna but since this video i did have the motor on the trimmer go out and had to be replaced (which was covered by the warrenty). If you are using it for light use or just around the home you are fine but for commercial use something to watch out for

      @@AmbrosLandscapingInc Thanks for your input, I've done some price checking here in Australia and for &1200 which includes battery and charger I nearly coughed up my balls, I guess that's quality you hope your paying for.
      I am looking at the Stihl for half the price with the large battery as yea it is only for home use, I have a lot of hedges so I need durability and power at the same time. Stihl looks the goer!

Did a lot of research a few years back and found the cat's meow of string: ROTARY VORTEX PROFESSIONAL TRIMMER LINE - ALSO CALLED COPPERHEAD TRIMMER LINE (I use .095). I've used an electric B & D trimmer for years. It's been a workhorse but I no longer am, and wanted to make my job easier. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG Around the corners, the small side yard etc. was a pain to run the cord out to, so I bought this thinking I'd use it for touch-ups and hard to reach places. Well, I haven't used the corded one since!This is so light weight and so much easier. It has all the power I need because I start wearing down after about 20 minutes and I haven't run out of battery yet. It takes about two hours to charge. I've used it about twice a week for a month and still have line left too. My favorite feature is the blade inside the shield that keeps the line trim to where I don't even have to think about it. You can see from my pic that it's been heavily used and I probably should clean it more often. Very happy with it.

    How often do you edge your properties?

    The person or people who decided to hide the transformer and phone junction box with those shurbs made a big mistake long story short when the electrical transformer blows or the phone junction box gets hit some one is to be up s+#t Creek because both of those shurbs are in the way which means someone is going to have to replace them.☹️☹️☹️☹️

    In my opinion..Those Shrubs are way to big..Probably removing them completely would make the yard look better.

      We actually removed them a few months after this video was shot. Looks a lot better.

    Electric yard tools are viable. I've been slowly adding M18 yard tools to my quiver: string trimmer, hedge trimmer, and recently their "hatchet" pruning saw. The trimmer and deger perform better than the mini chainsaw. I don't think it runs at high enough RPM's. I take care of about 2 acres of lawn and garden plus the yard of a small city apartment. I'm quite impressed by the electrics with one caveat. They were an easy/affordable purchase since I already ran m18 batteries. Overall, the convenience, quietness, lack of vibration, not messing with gas/mixing is a welcome trade off. Performance is very good, but probably a little slower/less rpm/not as "hot" as a good gas version. The one issue I've run into is batteries overheating when put on constant load. For example, weed whacking a large plug without breaks will result in your batteries overheating and you having to jockey them around before they are dead. It's an annoying problem and could get in the way of work flow depending on the situation. I keep 3 batteries in rotation and put them in the fridge to cool off.

      Meh. They're viable for postage stamp yards. Not for high productivity or large properties. Some lawn companies are carrying around gas generators to keep their equipment charged. I'll never own battery powered lawn equipment. Property is too big and I'm not interested in that whole spontaneous combustion issue with lithium batteries.
