Actually looking forward to the winter downtime...thanks to you, I am "spreadsheeting" my seeds, caring for my tools, planning my garden layout, organizing my whole approach to next Spring. Thanks so much for all the lovely project ideas over the Winter months, keep them coming!
So much fun to watch you create these baby topiaries! Excited to see them grow!

Hello 👋 marry marry Christmas toI’m really impressed with your comment, if you don’t mind friendship where are you from?
Love the potting up trick using the current pot as a space holder! Much faster & easier to tuck in the soil around the current pot. Why didn’t I know that! Thanks, Laura 😊
Martha who?? That wreath is the best! You continue to surprise me every day 😊
Yes, that was fun to watch and now I may do a few over the winter, thanks…🌲
Love, love, LOVE the wreath, Laura! You are so talented. I can’t wait to see how all the topiaries are doing next year! I am also really looking forward to seeing all of the bulbs you planted in your gardens when they flower next spring and summer. As always, thanks for taking us along on your daily journeys.

Beautiful!!! I love that you used all of the trimmings to make a wreath. Thank you for the inspiration!
Thanks Laura, I loved this project!
Oh what fun it is to watch Laura do her thing! It never fails, I always pick up useful tips from Laura, no matter what she’s doing! And she doesn’t even realize it! Like holding her hand over the top of the empty place holder pot when filling in the soil around the edges! Simple things like that, that make gardening so much easier. Well done Laura on these beautiful topiaries…they’re going to be stunning!
Hey Chris 👋. how are you doing? You actually took the words right from my mouth. Are you very active on UA-cam? Do you make your own videos?
Beautiful! I'm going to make some for my garden to plant out and leave in the ground. Zone 8b Here!
And I love wreaths with branches! Now I'm thinking of making something with all of the eucalyptus I have right now! 😊
Very creative. I would love to try that. And the wreath came out beautiful
Oh my gosh ... that wreath is fabulous! It's a real woodland beauty!
You could put them in those pots along the driveway that have the boxwoods in them right now!
This is an awesome inspiration video! Looking forward to seeing these as they fill in! That 7 stem one should really be awesome! And then, waste not, want not, your wreath turned out beautiful! ❤️

I brought in my rosemary before the big winter storm. I only had 2 left. But I made them in to topiaries! So fun and I also had a little aromatherapy as a bonus. Stay warm my friends! ❤
Hey Trish 👋. how are you doing? You actually took the words right from my mouth. Are you very active on UA-cam? Do you make your own videos?
Can't wait to see what they do. Very cool! 💚
Hey I just wanted you to know Laura that you are the little lady I drink coffee with every morning when I wake up I turn on the TV to have my coffee and there you go with another one of your sweet videos that I love to watch so thank you for that and happy holidays
I had to laugh at your comment because they are like family you see everyday. When I see them at the grand garden show I will have to remind myself that they don’t know me!!! And not hug them! Christmas blessings to all!🎄🎄
Nice video, Laura. The wreath is beautiful. Very unique. It’s so satisfying to create something from bits and pieces of scraps and have it work out to be an outstanding creation. Relative to the glue residue from the tag…..adhesive removal wipes will take that off. They were created to remove adhesive from medical tape on skin. There’s a little lanolin in them. They come individually wrapped like alcohol wipes. Work like a charm. Especially effective on plastic when some the paper is left behind too. Have to use more than one sometimes if there was a large tag, but takes it all off. I use them all the time to get all the glue off of glass jars that I want to save. Some of the product labels leave a lot of glue behind. 😊💖🦋🕊
Thank you so much for the tip! I have been struggling with glue residue for ages. Happy Holidays! 🎄😊🎄
Thanks Althea for the tip ! Where do you find the wipes to buy ?
Love that wreath! I think it turned out so well because you didn't have enough of one thing, and had to be more creative......and YOU, Laura, are creative!
Love the rustic wreath. Another fun idea to try. Thank you.
💚 💜
I love the wreath ,it’s going to be an adventure to see how the topiaries grow ! ❤️😁
Very nice. Reminded me to trim the Rosemary topiary in my kitchen. The wreath is stunning. Two thumbs up
I love this project! I think I'm going to make one for myself. Thank you Laura for teaching us. Merry christmas to you and Aaron 🤩❤️❤️
This is my favorite wreath ever!!! Love how you incorporated the birch branch.
Looking forward to seeing how these look in a few months. But, that wreath. It's proof positive that having limited resources brings out one's creativity and stretches the mind of the creator into making something unique and lovely without plan or prescription. Just beautiful! ~ Lisa
I really love the wreath. It has the perfect yin yang balance.
Your are so creative I love watching your vision come to life .. that wreath is beautiful..thank you for sharing
Merry christmas
Laura, everything you create turns out so beautifully. I am in awe and have learned so much from your videos. A very happy Christmas to you and your sweet family.

I think this wreath is, by far, my very favorite that you've made! It's gorgeous.

Seriously?!!! An absolute magician!! 💚💚💚 How on earth you make such a gorgeous wreath with clippings is beyond me.
What a great idea. Can't wait to see them grow and transform into beautiful topiaries. Beautiful wreath too.
If you warm up the sticker tag with an iron it comes off way easier!
Laura, what a great video - and plant for zone 9‼️ AND…. Love that wreath!! So creative and a reminder that we can use and see beauty in all of nature! Absolutely beautiful wreath!!!! 👍👏👏🤩😍

Hello 😇 marry marry Christmas toI’m really impressed with your comment, if you don’t mind friendship where are you from?
Wreath was my fav, so beautiful!
Love the wreath with the leftover branch trimmings. Very unique! You should put a small red bird on the birch branch or a few small Christmas ornaments. Beautiful job!
Hey Jenn 👋. how are you doing? You actually took the words right from my mouth. Are you very active on UA-cam? Do you make your own videos?
Laura, Thank you for teaching us how to start topiaries. I’ve been wanting to add topiary structure to my garden. I am so excited to follow your expert guidance and give this a try.

I LOVE the wreath!!! That is “my jam”… the best wreath I’ve seen this season anywhere.

Love how you can make a simple plant more special!! I’ve tried this with a rosemary plant but I need to keep working on it!! 😂

I found a bird-planted baby juniper approximately 18 in tall and I have turned it into a double ball topiary. It was really fun to do!
I have a lonicera planted in my landscape. It’s so cheerful year round. The wreath is wonderful!!
Hello 👋 marry marry Christmas toI’m really impressed with your comment, if you don’t mind friendship where are you from?
Very nice, I saw the wreath as a centerpiece with a big candle in the middle. Maybe outside on the table, in the Hartley, back porch where you use to film.
That wreath is gorgeous. I can't wait to see the topiary next year.
I find deer antle sheds and collect them, what a great use for them in natural wreath. Never would have thought of it! Looking forward to watching the topiaries develop!
Love the wreath. How fun that you used scraps to create. I always try to do that. I do make a big mess though. Sending loving and peace-filled thoughts to everyone.
I love the wreath
I love that wreath!!!
Oh wow this is so awesome!!! THE WREATH IS FANTASTIC!!!❤️
First thing I do every morning is to watch Garden Answers. You make my day.
You are amazingly creative, Laura! That wreath is so beautiful! Merry Christmas to you and all the Garden Answer family! Blessings! ~Cassandra Senter
Really enjoyed the topiary making. I have wanted to do that for several years. Glad you made a video. The wreath is beautiful, Laura! You have such amazing talent. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
OMG, my Felcos have a notch for cutting wire! Thanks for that tip! ❤️
they are similar in appearance to the barberry and the euonymus of the fortune, I overwintered it at minus 20 degrees Celsius last year. but we had high snowdrifts, although this year there is also snow, but we also have much warmer this year
I own a small backyard nursery and have been less than enchanted with this plant as it grows unruly and seems to have a lack of character. We are zone 7 and these do very well in our area. They are mostly evergreen depending on the severity of the winter. You have given me some great ideas on how to groom these for future sales! Thanks for the inspiration!
Can't wait to see how the topiaries grow. Your wreath is beautiful. Just goes to show you can use anything from nature to create beauty.
I love this idea!! I want to try training a topiary now!
If you make a low step to have behind the table you can get up a little higher above your potting tray which will make your camera work easier.
I"ve always wondered...now I see how to do it. Thank you! And that wreath is my favorite one so far.
I love the wreath. Perfect for the door when it’s time to switch out the Christmas wreath. Merry Christmas!
De-Solv-it removes stickers & residue. Takes stains out of laundry. Have even removed wired stains on my concrete patios. Have used it for years. Amazon.
I’ve never liked wreaths but something about this one made one want to try making them. Thank you for all you do and all you teach us!
Again you demonstrated something so very on point for me! I have an Alberta Spruce that I "rescued." Because of some absence of branches here and there, I thought I would try my hand at a spiral. Watching you go so confidently at the shaping has definitely given me a little courage to proceed. That wreath was brilliant and beautiful! You have such a unique eye. Thank you again for another wonderful video. Goes so well with a hot cup of chai and brings a little sunshine 🙂on a rainy and cold morning.
Hey Shery 👋. how are you doing? You actually took the words right from my mouth. Are you very active on UA-cam? Do you make your own videos?

Fun transformations! Keep us posted on how they are coming along! What a neat wreath! Love how you are just so natural at putting things together!
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day
Love ❤️ your creativity with always trying something new. You give us some fantastic ideas all the time, just love it. I can't wait to see them grow and watch what you do with them. I have 2 large pots in front of our garage and I'm going to try this. Then I can just plant annuals around them in the spring. Exciting! Hope your family has a Very Merry Christmas 🎄
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from
Wow, I continue to be amazed at how talented you are. You have inspired me to start my first topiary. Thank you, Merry Christmas!!
Laura, love the topiaries and wreath! Just was so tickled at the end when she was showing them on the floor… For some reason, I thought that they looked like students in her classroom, lol. Could the extra cuttings have been rooted to try to develop them into new plants? 🪴🪴
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from
This video should be subtitled "Birth of a Topiary". I can't wait to see how these progress. And that wreath! Oh my goodness, so so pretty!
It takes a special eye, I think, to see the potential for the topiary. I didn’t see it, until you finished the first one! Nice! & when you got to the branches on the wreath I wasn’t sure & then of course it turned out beautiful!! Never question Laura’s vision!! 😁
Lonicera makes a great topiary. I just trained 10 myrtle topiaries and did a video. It’s a good year before you get a decent size ball on a small scale topiary. They are fun to make for sure 😊
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from
Love topiary! I’m training 2 boxwoods into chickens out in my garden…it’s a process. Thank you for this video.
Pictures!
You should do another video like this in the spring when plants are available for the rest of us. Then we can do it along with you, then at the end of summer we can send you before and after photos and you can do a video showing some of our topiaries
You can go back and watch this video in the spring. :)
You can do topiaries with things available now. Hit your local nursery. I have several ficus topiaries which are house plants. I have a couple of ivy plants I plan on using this winter. I’ve trained them around a coat hanger bend into a circle.
@@michellescountrygardens23 our local nurseries aren't open here. I'd only be able to buy something from Walmart or Home Depot. There's really nothing for me this time of year
@@marlenabarnes7280 I was meaning for it to be something a little more interactive with her
@@mommag3024 our Nurserys are never open in the winter here either. We arent getting anything out of our gardens either they are under 2 feet of snow!
I LOVE the wreath! It turned out perfect!
You are full of just so many ideas Laura. You just create something out of any thing you get your hands on. And such good advice today. Everything you did today just so beautiful. I especially love the wreath. A beautiful video for us today.
That’s the most beautiful wreath I have ever seen! Merry Christmas
Wow! Laura I loved that wreath you put together. Love how you repurpose old projects into new ones!
Love this type of project....they are not too complicated and novices can get a huge rush out of completing one or more! Great wreath! Unique.
