These garden tours never get old! It's like a walk in paradise with a fairy garden named Laura. ❤❤❤
Really?
I just can't believe how Russell follows you everywhere. He's so sweet and obviously loves you so much.
Love the garden tours! And how appropriate to see Russell at the start 😂. You have such a wonderful space, Laura and I’m loving following your work and the changes over the seasons. Hope your mother’s recovery is going well and looking forward to the Q&A with her. Have a wonderful day.
Good morning Laura and Aaron! Love, love, love this video. Relaxing and beautiful. Russell really loves you guys, he wants to be where you are. So sweet. Oh my you guys have such an amazing future before you. Kids to raise, many, many projects and devoted gardeners [and virtual gardeners) loving to see it all. May God bless all your endeavors. Hugs from N.C..❤️🙏
Does anyone else first look at how many minutes long the video is?? 😆 I did and got so excited when I saw it was a long one. Yeah! Going to need more coffee. Great way to start the day. Thanks Laura and Aaron! And good to see a sweetie kitty right at the beginning.
Yup!!The longer the better😄
It "is" the first thing I do. Truly.
I always check.the longer the better.
Me to:-)
Me too
Really enjoyed the garden tour! Made notes for things to add to my garden next year. I am in zone 6B Ontario,Canada and today it is 84°F with 80% humidity, it is an indoor project day. You walk outside to a sauna and thankful for the rain last night no need to water today! Happy Gardening everyone! Update 85° 92% humidity
We built a pergola and then hung swings and bars on it for the kids. When the kids no longer use it, you just take the swings down and you still have something beautiful. I love the plectransus and queen tut without the flowers. It has a beautiful structure and drape and looks more formal to match the entry of the Hartley.
That is SUCH a great idea!
Oh a one hour garden tour!! Yes!! Today my mom would have turned 85, but sadly passed away (in England) 10 years ago. So today, everything I do is in her memory! I went shopping to her favorite store, Aldi! Then came home and put my feet up with a cup of hot tea and a snickers bar (she LOVED them), and watched your garden tour! She loved to garden, and was very successful with most everything she grew. In her later years, as health declined, it became a frustration. I’ve taken up her love for plants and flowers, learning a lot from you Laura, about growing plants in America and trying to make my garden in Virginia, pretty like yours! Thank you for all you do to make our landscapes pretty, may God continue to bless you for your efforts!
Laura, Aaron,
Russel's intro--soooo cute! Such a sweetie. Love how he's your shadow during every garden tour. ❤
Laura you guys work soo soo soo hard this year and are still able to treat us with an hour-long Garden Tour. Thanks so much!!
Good morning GA friends, love the garden tours! Have a wonderful weekend!
It is a true delight to spend my early morning 🌄 touring your estate gardens with you.
Everything is just beautiful.the amount of work and love you put into gardening is apparent. I love your tours.
I agree!! I can’t live without my touch sensor faucet!!
I’ve certainly enjoyed having my coffee with all of you this morning! ❤️ The tour was beautiful!!
one time in our area, a farmer took a spot of his land and plowed it and planted nothing but sunflowers. it was beautiful! maybe you can do that next year in that spot or even do a mix of sunflowers and lavenders. Oh, that would be pretty. Just a thought. Everything looks beautiful! Hard work is paying off. God Bless!
Good morning Laura and everyone around the world 🌎 Laura, loved the tour of your garden this morning!! I’m so jealous!! Love it when you show the good with the bad, it really helps alot Between our deer here and our heat and humidity here in NC, it’s so hard to keep things thriving. Our humidity yesterday was at 95%, just awful!! The deer 🦌 are another big issue!! They eat everything I try to plant but thank goodness it’s only in my front yard. Back yard is fenced in. Anyway everyone have a wonderful weekend!!
Laura I love your excitement it’s encouraging and incentive to keep planting!
I love the sound of your chickens.😄I was actually outside painting the frame of our coop watching your video and noticed them. Your garden so inspires me. Absolutely beautiful.
I'm only 17 minutes into the video and I am just in awh! Queen Tut, I love it!!
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from?
Everything always looks beautiful. I always enjoy seeing your garden but, most of all I enjoy seeing Russell following you around all the time.
Considering your heat there, I am surprised everything looks as good as it does. It just goes to show what a great gardener you are.
Love that gorgeous weeping willow! The garden looks beautiful.
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from
Oh my goodness, the view of the Hartley from the fireplace 😍
That Supreme Cantaloupe echinacea really floats my boat! Just incredibly beautiful!
The size of the Coleus leaves is amazing!! They are obviously very happy!!
I think the East portico entrance is the prettiest ever. Love the color out front with the tall cannas. Then the palms show up so well against the white house!
I used a new coleus this year in a couple of planters, called Lava. Small leaves, spreads out a lot, and is lacy and a beautiful filler for planters. Doesn't get tall, and no flowers or seed heads. So happy!
I absolutely LOVE the tropical vibe of the East porch... it almost looks like southern/colonial/coastal. What a fun/different vibe for that area!
THANK YOU LAURA!!!
I remember reading that the parents of the great Olympic decathlon champion and later U.S. Congressman, the late Bob Mathias, said they always equipped their backyard with things their boys would enjoy with or without friends as they wanted the children to stay close and stay out of possible trouble. Worked well for them. I think this is a good idea.
That tree planting machine is amazing 🤩
your garden is one of the most beautiful gardens
I love your garden tours. They give good ideas for plants in my own garden. Thank you for all your sharing.
Your videos are wonderful to start the day with my morning coffee! Have a blessed day everyone!!!
@Barbara Carlson ~ Thank you! A Blessed day to you also!
Aaron can move backwards really fast! Me I’d be flat on my behind.🌸💚🙃
Russell always makes an appearance in just about every scene! Too funny 😁. I adore your garden and the energy it takes to keep up with all of it!
You guys have inspired me to start more flower beds I learned so much over the years your space is looking Amazing I droll over your so much gorgeousness
Ok....I know I've said this before but I just can't help myself. Every time I get to see those North Pole Arb's I just start swooning!!!! So darn beautiful.
Good morning from Tennessee! Wonderful tour, Laura.
Just looking at the thumbnail is calming!! I already know that the video will be AMAZING!!! Thank you for all you do, you TRULY make a difference in ways you'll never know!!!
All of the "layers" of visuals.....with the weeping willow in the backdrop.....OH MY GOSH!!!! I just LOVE this channel!
Always so excited to see a tour. I appreciate you guys so much. It's incredible to see everything your doing. So happy. TY so much. Just amazing job how much you've done.
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from
Обалдеть! Какая красота! Сколько растений! Это рай! Представляю,сколько труда и денег! Успеха во всех начинаниях!
I am beyond excited being this early AND getting a garden tour!
So glad that you show the rough areas because now I don't worry so much about the things in my garden looking rough. I absolutely love your garden and I'm inspired by how you use so many different trees and shrubs, that I've stepped out of my comfort zone and I am trying some of your techniques in my yard. I'm a zone 9 and I have clay dirt...but I've been learning so much from your videos. Thank you for all you do!
Thank you so much for the tour of your beautiful gardens……made my day ❤️😎
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from
The upkeep on this has to be tremendous. I can't imagine doing all this, and then moving.
They hire help!
But keeping track of it all is a job also!
@@AmberWaves-WA-State Not nearly enough 'help' with the size of the land (Plants) they have now.
Good morning, Laura ☕️ I love garden tours! I’ll have to watch half now and half when I get home from work.
Your garden is continually an inspiration for me… Thank you! 35 day here in Texas over 100 degrees!!! It’s been horrible…. And the water bills have been crazy!😜
Super Friday treat…a garden tour! Thank you! Hope everyone out there has a great weekend!🤩💜🌼
@Rebecca Wood Bixler ~ Thank you! You have a great weekend too!
It’s funny you brought up a new small gazebo while Aaron is working behind the camera. Like he’s gonna argue on video. 😂🤣😂🤣❤️ I love the idea! And it should be white to match. The original did not. Thanks for the tour.
Thanks for the awesome garden tour Laura and Aaron! Your space is looking beautiful despite the hot, hot temps you’ve been having! We appreciate the tour so much!!
Please show that hibiscus when it is in full bloom. Thanks
The annuals around that corner are gorgeous, but I can't imagine that project being in anyone's budget. Most of those size cans around here are at least $8-16 and up per plant. That over all total would be a big OUCH on the ol' wallet for most of us. 😳🥺
Different strokes for different folks. Different budget for different pockets. Different goals for different souls.
I live in southern California where it so dry most of the year I don't have a very big yard but I try plant as much as I can thank you Laura for your videos every morning I watch your videos and out the door I go to work in my garden thanks again. 😊
Give that tree time a few years with the correct pruning it will be gorgeous!! ❤️😉
You’ve come a long way in 4 years!! The flash back of the driveway made me think oh my where has time gone??!!
Beautiful garden. Laura your love for 🪴 plants is the best.🌺🌻
Thx for the tour, you’ve done a wonderful job. Could you update us on your Espalier tree in the back.
Was thinking to myself how I'm enjoying the sound of water running and, BOOM, you mentioned how your fountain is doing. Good timing, and love your garden!
Had a Stokes aster and had no idea what it was. It started to bloom, gorgeous blue color, and I went back to the nursery with a picture. They will carry it again in the fall and I will be buying two,or three. Had to spray it for the rabbits but well, worth it. So glad to see my plants in Laura’s garden! Laura just throws out these names and I try keeping notes because her recommendations are so point on. Sure Fire Begonias sound like one of those plants I will look for. So thankful for Laura and Aaron’s passion for plants.
Wow you garden is like walking through heaven!
I really like the combination of the two cana colors. Pretty 😍
The garden tours are my favorite videos!.... The past few years I've grown the 'Unplugged Pink' & 'Rocking Fuchsia' Salvias in containers. They are super vigorous growers, and right now they are already 3ft tall and wide . They've taken over, and buried the Lantana, Supertunias, and Ivy Geraniums that I planted with them. They bloom so much that you don't see the old dried flower heads which eventually fall off if you don't deadhead them. They must like Vermont's cooler temps, higher humidity, and regular rain fall. Also, they're the Hummingbirds' favorite plants.
I'd love to see a before and after video of different sections of your garden (maybe a winter idea?). It was so neat to see the clip of you guys putting in the maple trees.
Am so impressed with … well your hardworking lifestyle, the beauty you cultivate, and the apple of your eye - is behind the camera. That is apparently clear. He possesses a keen eye for success, putting you in motion is a sight to be shown. And, every speck is GORGEOUSLY designed, royally maintained. You, yourself are very classy classic, TRUE BEAUTY, down to earth, hard working. BLESSING: YOUR LIGHT WITHIN, THE LOVE YOU KNOW, YOUR MOTHERHOOD AND MARRIAGE. Thank you for shinning & sharing it. You’re good at what you do. CLS
Love love loved this garden tour. It helped me to think about how to try to plan for and manage plants in the hottest parts of summer. My favorite moment, though, was the sheer delight on your face when it started to sprinkle! This has been a lot of work for you and we get to benefit as you take us along. Thank you so very much.
Hi! Not sure what you meant by "congratulations to have been selected among the lucky few.text for more enlightenment" Does that mean I get a chance to ask you a question or that you have more to share? Either way so excited and don't want to miss the opportunity!!!
Laura , Your Lavender always has look so beautiful. Thank you for the Garden tour, so very colorful and calming.🌞🦋
russel is such a babie I love him
Love the long tours! It takes me about an hour to tour my gardens as well.
What a joy to see what has happened in the So garden. This video is just eye candy for any one who gardens. It is so exciting to see what you have done in such a short time. It must be difficult to keep up with all of it but if anyone can do it the two of you can. It is already a magical place. ❤️
Greetings from Madoc, Ontario. I thoroughly enjoyed your garden tour… very fast paced I could hardly keep up. There’s a lot going on there. Thanks for sharing. Obviously it’s all à labour of love. Have a happy week. Blessings
Very satisfying garden tour. I liked that you focused on the plants and not on future plans. My garden is overgrown. Its too hot and humid. I'm in zone 8.
I like the 'fluffy' look of all the boxwoods!
good on you for saving the green incrediballs! I love the color and they are so healthy!
Love how you try to always find something to be thankful for! I am striving to be more like you in that way because I realized that the 100 degree heat was making me negative. Thanks for your delightful and informative content.
My favorite garden tour . Sit back and relax with a cup of coffee. Happy weekend to all🌸🌹🌺❤️
Laura and Aaron, the garden is looking really good giving all the heat it been through! Love the canas in the south garden a pop of pink with all the yellow ones, I know is not how you planned but I really love it! So many pretty things! Looking forward to all the new planting that will start happening soon! 🤗💗💜💗🤗
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from?
Your plants are looking amazing.
The heat got to my plants at least half my verbenna plants and several other flower plants died, my tomatoe , cucumber, green beans, and bell peppers. Between the heat and them big black grasshoppers.
If you use grow light bulbs in your porch lights you will see significant growth on the plants around the porch.
Absolutely gorgeous! So much to see. Thank you for the tour!
Thank you for showing us the good the bad and the ugly in your garden (which is mostly spectacular)! I think we are all struggling a bit this year with the heat. I'm amazed at how beautifully your garden is developing in such a short amount of time. This is really inspiring and encouraging me to preserve. I hope everyone enjoys their day!
P.S. can/does Paul and Bethany help you with deadheading?
Everything is looking so beautiful and lush! And I appreciate the good, bad and the ugly… makes me feel like I’m not the only one with plants that have almost given up in this heat. We’re also on a water restriction here….which means we can only water one day out of the week, at night. 😵💫😵💫
your new stone pathway is already looking fabulous!
Opposite side of the country, but so glad im not the only one struggling with trying to keep my puny little flower beds alive. I honestly thought I was being a bad plant mom for the last few weeks.
Congrats to Monica and her family!!
Hi, I love your garden :) With hostas I will share a little tip: those with more yellow lives can handle more sun and those with blue lives needs darker place. All the best :*
Hits a note with me when you say you want to transition plants out that you have to fight to keep looking good. Our hosta too, suffer from sun exposure as the season goes on, but I’m willing to fight that fight. What I’m tired of fighting is watering plants that suffer from less water than our sprinklers give them. Replacing is expensive, though, and when I replace one or two, I have to keep the overall plan in mind, and then worry over the new one taking and thriving. In addition, we are plagued by rabbits, of which we have multiple generations, and deer, for which I spray repellent. By August, I am feeling a little tired of the fight, and the sinking feeling when I find one plant or another eaten by the varmints. And, water is expensive here in Virginia, but a necessary investment if your garden is going to stay alive. The joy in seeing it all come together and stay alive is the end game, and nice comments from neighbors help to make the effort worthwhile.
Sill the most beautiful garden I have ever seeing. Blessings to you and your family. Freeda Canada 🇨🇦 thank you for sharing.
The Urn, OMG impressive along with the boxwood. great centerpiece
Great tour! Spider mites are because of your drip watering. The leaves aren't getting washed. Just hosing the leaves a few times kills spider mites better than those poisons. Spider mites are 100% a culture issue. Your leaves need a little more "rain" if you want to grow those plants in a high desert, otherwise you'll eventually see that poisons like Capt Jack's work for only a short time and you will end up tearing out those plants in frustration if you rely on poison instead of proper culture.
My boys (twins) have had a small play set for many years and now ,at 7 years old, they will swing for hours. I really was surprised how much they want to swing at this age. Benjamin may grow into your swing set😊
Two colors Cana Lilies - pink and yellow - beautiful
I love Japanese anemones! Unfortunately I’ve yet to have success with them here in the Midwest . Your space is so beautiful !
Absolutely beautiful!!
I feel like I know your yard better than my own!!
You can use Rustoleum spray paint! It work really well on metal.
Living in Central Oregon and dealing with the dry heat this summer too. Many plants just not doing as well this summer. Seeing what you have that is doing well helps me see what I can replace my beds that might work better. My issue is also volcanic sandy soil that even when I amend over and over even removing a good portion of soil just still makes plants struggle. It has been a 15 trial and error period. Goodness. Love seeing your beautiful plantings. I garden vicariously through watching your tours, haha.
Everything looks so good, very pretty. I don’t know where you get your energy, but I know 20 years ago, when we built our house and I started putting in my flower beds, I could garden all day. Just in the last 2 years, I don’t get out there very often and not when it’s hot and humid like now. Can’t wait to see everything this fall too. I’m waiting patiently for it to cool off a little.
The garden looks amazingly beautiful.
