If only Eidos updated the general look to use the UE5 more, as well as new routes, maps etc, to differentiate it from the original, but pay homage to it at the same time. Great work by this guy who did this though 😎👍🏾
Looking fuckin amazing so far! I think the textures could use more...detail than the original game had. Since this is a remake with Unreal Engine 5, might as well take advantage and really make it look spankin!
Also, how is the shooting in this version compared to the original?
It's still early to talk about how shooting feels, at the moment however it mostly resembles the original.

@Blue199 I get your frustration, but if they are true to the original, an HD remake of this game would be amazing honestly...it would bring in new fans that need to experience this for all it's glory. As well, getting new fans in the near future would be perfect now that Eidos Montreal is no longer enslaved by Square Enix, and there is alot of talk about them getting back into Deus Ex. I dunno how you feel about the Jensen games, but personally I loved them. Human Revolution more, though.

Lol no, everything apart from the story and characters has aged horribly. Also remaking it would bring more people to see the awesomeness of this story.
The AI seems a bit dumb
it's strange cuz the game I feel is fine as is, but on this graphics, it feels... empty, like on the original game I never felt Liberty Island was like a void, granted it wasn't super packed neither, but in here it feels so empty and lacking in comparison. Guess the stronger shadows just make it feel more lackluster.
There are many things that can influence this, like the FOV angle or the higher resolution that lets you see detail further away. It might also be due to association: modern graphics generally go with fairly full levels, while DX tried to run huge areas on 2001 areas, so the decor had to be quite simple. Ironically, when I tried playing the original Deus Ex with a mod that modified the levels by adding more stuff (maybe it was Revision?), I didn't like it, because the exterior areas of DX were often meant to give you a very long line of sight and the feeling of being in a wide area, and the mod made it smaller by placing obstacles.

Someone tell these nerds how easy it is to slap a few textures onto a few meshes and shove them into unreal... yeah okay, he might have spent some time in blender or you know some other third party Shader... to get the GUI just right but the reality is it's a unreal 3D Graphics engine slapped together with skins done in an afternoon.
I can't answer concerning technical details, but I doubt this is an afternoon's work, unless it was done on Venus.

No, do continue please. I'm one of those who played DE non-stop on 2 different platforms, even finishing the game on a pitiful 3dfx-equipped Mac back in the day. I would love to see this game in a _different light_ . By that I mean global illumination. I also want to see the world properly remade to match the look of modern games. So it looks like we live in different worlds, Quagmoe.

@@budaroddy It does hurt the original game. Because it’s trying to replace it when the original game is leagues better than what is shown here. This will be a massive downgrade in quality. Pretty much everything on Unreal Engine sucks.
