Enjoyed your video - a very good overview of Tassie’s better known walks. I hope your message of preparedness gets out there because as beautiful as Tasmania is, it can become quite a foreboding place when the weather turns. I’d also say that there are a number of fantastic lesser-known areas if you want to avoid the crowds; a couple of my personal favourites is the walk from Rocky Cape to Sisters Creek, plus there are some stunning short walks in the Meander State forest.
Yes, definitely room for another video here. Can’t stress enough to people the preparedness and level of experience people need when entering our wilderness here.
Love your work! Keep it up, one of the most under rated channels out there, positive your channel is only going to grow! Watched most your vids preparing for Arthur Range - very helpful!
Your video so helpful! Love it . Introduced Dove Lake to my husband & daughter last year, they both love it and amazed by the surrounding as well as the weather change 😊. Thank you for sharing all about your amazing state. More and more i want to move. And yes exactly what my girl say , each time i watch about Tasmanian hiking track she would say “overland track overland track “. ❤❤
I'm so glad you found the video helpful! Dove Lake is truly a magical place, and it's wonderful to hear that your family enjoyed it. Tasmania has so much to offer!
Such a great video. Mowser I’m absolutely dying hanging out for your next Expedition style video. Simply just can’t wait as I’m thinking from what you’ve said in some of your vids that you’ve been on a couple this year. Any idea when one is likely to be published?👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I hear you! I'm working on the video, but these ones take a LOT longer to edit. Hoping to work on it some more when I eventually get some down time over summer!
@@mowsertas Hey I hear you. I’m not a UA-camr but it’s taking me waaaaay too long to share my own fb content from my six week solo alpine hiking trip. I’ll get there eventually. Like you it’s just hard balancing the time. Thank you so very much for all that you do. Adore your work because it’s a great mix between straight talking, informative & entertaining. It’ll clear you spend a heap of time with your set & generally filming & editing👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yep, done all but the South coast track. Be prepared is an understatement... came across a number of people that didn't even carry a 600ml water on the day tracks, multiple hours from anywhere. 3 Capes track is a good one, hard to find any bad tracks.
Tough to say as I definately haven't hiked everywhere. I am yearning to return to Norway to hike - I absolutely love it there and could see myself living there for hiking (particularly in the north - Lofoten Islands and Senja). I would say Norway is my favourite place (So far!) out of Tasmania. I do also need to get to North America and check out there though!
Mouser I just got gaia gps app and started using it how do I download Maps for gaia for tasmania so I can see where you are talking about?? Your show is great I would like to see more clearly where you are talking about?? ❤
I just use the Gaia Topographic maps within the app. I find they are as good as any map available. To add your own topographic maps into the app is extremely complicated and I don't bother with that anymore. I mainly use the layers called Gaia Topo (either meters or feet) and the World Imagery layer and the Satellite with Labels layer.
@@mowsertas yea I wanna add your maps from your area I got maps for here. I wanna go look at trails in your area and possibly trails in other areas as well. Like the Camino or the kungsladen
@@mowsertas I need to find some good sites for wild camping so I can do some solo overnights so I'm just going to go around some of my old sites and mark them as waypoints in the app. They're all around the city of Toronto.
So I’m.thinking about doing some hiking in Tasmania based on your recommendations. It would be an extended trip so I may need to establish a base of operations. Do you have any recommendations for the best place to be in Tasmania?
Depends on whether you have one particular area you want to explore but anywhere in the state is not far to drive when compared to mainland Australia. Hobart and Launceston are both great launch points. Launceston more so if you intend concentrating on Walls, Cradle north east and north west. I have lived in both Launceston and Hobart and both offer some of the state's best walking within an hour or twos drive. But also many walks available within each city - Hobart probably more so with the Mountain towering above it. I do love the coast too. Massive fan of Bicheno for the serenity.
Thanks. It is quite nice. I LOVE this shirt. I bought it from Norrona in Norway but it's also available online. Looks like it is an old model now and is only available in their online outlet that i can see. It's called the Svalbard Flannel Shirt: geni.us/l6mBIF
Outstanding storytelling and filming man! Bravo
Thanks a ton! Glad you enjoyed it!
What an amazing resource Thankyou
Tassie just jumped to the top of the list for my next adnenture
I'm glad you found the video helpful! Tasmania is truly a gem waiting to be explored.

This is a good overview. Tasmania is a very special part of the world.
It sure is!

Much appreciated! Glad you found them helpful. We'll keep on creating content for a long while yet!
I'm looking forward to doing Overland Track in the future and hopefully will get to see your guide before then. Great videos!
Should have a bit of a guide in the next couple of months. Heading out again in a few weeks. Stay tuned!
holy moly Mowser great content. Doing SW Cape loop in November (clockwise).
Thanks! Awesome! Such a great walk. I’ve been down to SW cape but yet to do the loop. High on my list!

Looks beautiful 👌
Thank you so much 😊
Another destination to put to my bucket list! Very expensive for me though to get there all the way from Finland. 😬
We have family in Finland and they have visited and loved it. We also love spending time in Finland! Love it! Have visited many times!

Yes, you can sure come across some
ill equipped walkers out there!
Hello, in your opinion, which region of the world is the most interesting for trekking? (except Tasmania 😁)

@ Are both of those areas fairly temperate year-round?
Huts? Do I need a tent?
Still need a tent ☺️
Can I ask what shirt you are wearing, its quite nice?

Don’t listen to him! It’s terrible! Never come here! 😉
The walks in this video are all there is. There is nothing else to do 🫢😉
