Fantastic. You are the only one who knows how to do this !
Most people just set a static all core oc using offset voltage, which leaves so much on the table.

Your custom cooling made all the difference. I have never seen 40k+ CB score with sustained 5.7ghz on all P cores, near 330 w sustained and temps in 70's LOL.
GREAT setup. No AIO in existence, including 420's, could do that without throttling. Your setup is exceptionally well cooled and that changes everything.

I am very new to pc adjustments and came across your video. i adjusted similar but lower settings for my setup and my temps dropped 10C and no more throttling and better performance overall and seems stable over last few days. i don't understand every nuance in depth but results are great and appreciate your explanations. Thank You for your tips. Intel should certainly hire you. I know its nothing special but i have msi z790-a pro wifi 14900k 192gb ram running at 5800 rtx4090 corsair i7500 system with 280mm aio. 14209 score intel XTU benchmark, Cinebench R23 multi 38322 which is at least 1000 point increase. You don’t need better cooling you just need a better bios setup, try lowering the amps to 305 and your max wattage down to 275watts. Let me know your temps.
Also all ihs on the lga 1700 are not completely flat therefore contact with the cooler is not the best and it will need lapping.
My 14900k maxis out 70c and won’t go any higher even after an hr of CB on 280mm AIO. CB score is 39k I can get 42k but my temps raise to 77c and fan noise increases to high, at 70c my fans are at 1400rpm and I only have 3 in total in my system.

Hey Brotha, so glad to see you uploading! Heads up, my 13900k i bought October of 2022 actually suddenly died in October of 2023 and intel warrantied it. They sent me cash to buy the new 14900k and man what a difference of performance with less power draw all while having faster clocks. 13900k is having serious issues and this is the first time ive ever seen a CPU of mine actually die. My buddies 13900k also randomly died a week after mine too.

Thank you so much for making this video. I have built a similar computer also with MSI's Carbon WiFi motherboard. Both the 13900K and 4090 GPU are water cooled. Have you seen any issues with the unlimited settings (4096W, 512A) for "Short/Long Duration Power Limit" and "CPU Current Limit" being completely out of the 13900K specs with the "CPU Cooler Tuning" set to "Water Cooler" settings?

Thanks for the support, yes I have observed and experienced games crashing when things like, shader compilation is used in some games. Tekken 8, Horizon forbidden west, Remnant 2. But this only happens if temperatures are out of control. But with all the new information, I would suggest using a power limit of 320W for short and long and 500 Amps on the ICCMax, for better stability.

Man, I am super frustrated with the 14900k. I have a 360 AIO and if I select water cooler in bios to make its pl1, pl2, and current unlimited, I am hitting 100c instantly. Early on, someone told me to disable enhanced turbo, but that didnt seem to make much of a difference, so I reenabled it ( I also have no clue what it does). I've dropped lite load down to mode 8, but I'm still getting mid 90s with the occasional 100c hit. I downloaded xtu and basically used that to lower my limits to 280 pl1/pl2 and 375 current, and now I'm hiting the mid 80s to mid 90s but I just feel like its still not right. If I set it to the boxed cooler setting (253w limits, 307 current), and leave everything else default, I get temps in the mid to high 70s but I notice that the wattage never even reaches the set 235w during cinebench. It only hits like 205w. In XTU its constantly saying that im current/edp limit throttling. I just dont know and I feel like in order to get decent temps, Im losing out on a lot of performance. I have installed a cpu bracket and repasted my aio as well. Just super frustrating.

I just wish there was a simple, change this, this, and that to make the cpu run optimally. Its crazy to me how these motherboard manufacturers default settings have these cpus hitting 100c instantly and just relying on the thermal throttling to control it. I know for Asus boards, there is a single setting (multi-core enhancements) you can disable that basically sets the cpu back to intel limits and allows the CPU to run as intended by intel, which gives much better temps. MSI doesnt have that one setting, and it seems like its mostly based off what cooler you select. Even selecting the middle (tower cooler 288w) setting, still ramps my wattage up above that and hits 100c. Setting box cooler (253w), is the only thing that keeps temps reasonable, but then I never even reach 253w under full load and I drop like 3-4000 points in cinebench.

@@Bang4BuckPCGamer hey mate tried your setting and my VID sits on around 1.48volt idle and yes it drops under load? I did manage a 42000 score on CB R23 which is great but I’m worried to leave it at these setting because of the voltage.
      Instead of 6.1ghz - I put mine on 6.0.
Also when I config the VF point:
      VF 11 is at 6.0ghz
      VF 10 is at 6.0ghz
      VF 9 is at 6.0ghz
Then VF 8 is at 5.9ghz
      And so on.
I noticed on your video your VF 11 is 6.1 and VF 10 is 5.9 VF 9 is 5.8 and so on.
How do I change the frequency for each VF point?

    • @Bang4BuckPCGamer
      @Bang4BuckPCGamer  5 місяців тому

A CB score like that is what you get from a stock i9 13900K. The moment you start overclocking, you start pulling 300W, then the 280 AIO will have it's work cut out.

@@Bang4BuckPCGamer but you really don’t need 300w to obtain high scores on CB, I can achieve 42k and my temps stay at 77c with 260-270w also depends on the board you use as they impact the cpu as well.

Hey bud thx for your lot of effort on video i wanna ask some couple of things..
    My sistem is
    13900K
    Meg Z790 Ace
    Trident Z5 7800mhz (oc) 4x16 64 GB
    Mag 1000 watt psu
My bios is updated latest version
All bios on default settings, zero touch on it
First i tried xmp my rams with 2 kit only and gone 7800mhz for couple of Mins then got blue screen and i returned it default settings. Then i install other 2 sticks and im running it 4000mhz at stock atm. I’ve tried 5600mhz and 4800mhz of em but can’t ride it good. Maybe i need to play with some watts but i dunno anything about it so i dont wanna harm it.
The second thing is when i run cb24 multicore bench the app freezing. Can’t go test it on cb. Also tried cb23 as soon as i start on multi test its freezing. Both app working on single core bench.
My cpu cooler is MSI MEG CoreLiquid S360 360mm.
I dunno what’s wrong with my system and not sure if i need to copy your settings to see what’s happening so.
Any advice boss? (Just a gamer pc, nothin about bench or any other stuff btw)

I think I responded to one of your previous comments so I will just give you some tips. First tip is abandon any hope of running XMP 7800MHz with 4 sticks of ram. It is basically impossible with DDR5 at that speed.
With the crashing while running cinebench, that could be due to thermal limits. Try selecting air cooler as the option in the bios and try again. That will reduce the power limit and make things easier on your cooling solution.
