Hey guys! A lot of you have also asked specifically about healthcare, insurance, dental etc related costs for Bali so we did a video exactly on that. You can check it out here > ua-cam.com/video/ltBX5bdYQ1I/v-deo.html Together with this video that should give you a pretty comprehensive idea about living costs in Bali! Hope it helps!
As someone who was born, growing up, and living in Bali, I can confirm that you can get decent life in Bali with her budget. Not luxurious, not frugal, but decent and comfortable.
Thanks for settling in Bali and amazing informative video! For those of you considering living in Indonesia, with the $1400 - 1500 budget per month you can live comfortably in any places of Indonesia. That is considered a mid-high expenditure, so even with $200-400 less budget you can still have a good live! I hope I don't sounds judging, please enjoy anyway you are happy! cheers!
thanks Herdhanu i'm glad u enjoyed the video! Our budget of $1.5k is for 2 people who eat a lot haha.... n i do agree that if we trimmed our (mainly food) expenses more we can cut off $200-400 without much difficulty! 😄🙏👍
I'm thinking the same thing friend 😄(I'm a middle class guy living in Borneo). But nevertheless, I really enjoy the video 👍👍👏👏. It's very informative, making me want to spend my honeymoon in there 🤭🤭. I guess I better start saving up 😁😁

Such a calm voice, love the way you show real Bali and not the fancy one. I miss it so much, was living there in Ubud during pandemic with my girlfriend and we were renting just a room with shared kitchen and pool for 200$/month and the monthly expenses were much under 1000$ even going out for food moderately. For a young couple was more than enough :)

A very good recommendation for others who wants to come and stay or live in Bali. Hope the life in Bali will go back to normal after they read this...much obliged 😇
Morning😀 the prices for ‘expat’ living is good in Bali if you know what to do and your place is so lovely. Yes nasi campur is also my favourite 🤩 Have a lovely weekend. 🙏
In general, the cost of living in Indonesia is very cheap because traditional markets provide all your needs... what is expensive is lifestyle habits 😁☕🥂🏖🏝🌞
@@krishnadwisetiawan3207 not recomended to have car in Bali, you'll get congestion due to narrow street. Most bule will use motorcycle because they like to explore more. It's actually local tourists that rented car + driver
Thank you for sharing the video! I always wanted to stay in Bali for a month but i thought it might be just a dream, now that I've watch your video and it makes me clear about the budget and it's actually affordable there depending on what kind of lifestyle you wanna live.🏝
heya Eunice! I'm so glad to hear that the video helped u move closer to your goals. it's all quite doable, one just has to take action. Save up a bit, contact a visa agent, u can find an affordable place over Facebook groups for Bali housing easy peasy, n off you go really. Good luck! All the best.
I subscribed, but not so much for the videos content, although I do like them… but damn, your voice is so calm… it’s so relaxing. Unintentional ASMR I guess.. 😅😌😊😴
Wow! The prices are deff manageable, it’s really not too expensive! U guys deff do live a simple life which also helps with the expenses. I like how theres markets on the street! Usually the price of fruits and veggies at the market are pretty reasonable!! So nice the beach is free haha! I know some beaches have entrance fees 🤦🏻♀️ very interesting video and helpful to those who are thinking of traveling/living in Bali ☺️❤️
Hello, Jean !! Thanks, such an interesting, beautifully filmed and edited video, good to get an idea of the local costs. I find myself more interested in how it reveals further, the lifestyle you are both experiencing and enjoying on Bali 😃 👍. Such a lovely place and positive, friendly people. Wishing you all the best, cheers, Don 🙋♂️
I took optional retirement as an English teacher and now living alone in a minimalist lifestyle in a small town in Malaysia, but the cost of living is rising in Malaysia. Bali is seriously magical..Which part of Bali would you recommend to stay that's fairly cheap in terms of accommodation, and cost of living? Enjoyed your video! Kudos to you for taking that plunge. My son is a lawyer and I can see the stress he's going through... sometimes I wonder it it's worth it.
Anywhere outside the main busy areas like Kuta Seminyak Denpasar! If u go to areas that s a tad more remote it always get bit more affordable :) bali is actually quite a big island but most of the action seems to be concentrated particularly in south bali
Unique voice ...it sound like yoga voice version... By the time I finish this video...I barely can open my eyes in very relaxing status which i really thank you for it . And thank you for your valuable price information about Bali. Me personally....indonesia is my last option as corruption is massive big and in.my case , it start from.the airport by making me pay unrequired visa fee ....
i can totally understand why u might feel that way... a country's system is an important factor in one's quality of life.... fortunately so far we've not had to encounter the system closely much.... hopefully things stay that way 🙏
i recommend you to buy online in tokopedia, more simple, afordable price and fast to delivery sorry for my bad english but maybe thats wilk help you alot in the future😊🙏
I live in Canada, and this video just has me in awe!! It costs so much to live here!! We live frugally and have no debt but the cost of living each month is extremely high, especially now because the cost of groceries is skyrocketing.
I share your lifestyle (no alcohol/partying more peaceful) so this video got me really excited. I'm currently planning a trip to Bali and I was looking into Seminyak. May I ask what part of Bali you guys are in? You said it was more secluded. How do I find somewhere like that to avoid the hustle and bustle?
Hi Seminyak is where a lot of the action is although if u r new to Bali u might enjoy that a lot. We r up in the Bukit near Jimbaran area n that’s predominantly cos we r surfers n the better more advanced surfing is here in the Bukit (up the hill nearer to Uluwatu). U shd probably try living around a few different areas to really find what suits u! Ubud doesn’t have sea access but it’s very peaceful n green n yogic
Love your channel, Jean! =) I'm based in the Philippines but I loved Bali the first time my friends and I went there. The vibe there is so relaxing and cost of living is not that high. Please continue to post more content! =)
Is it cheaper to live in Bali than Philippines? I am married to a philipina and was in the Philippines very often. But I was never in Bali. We live in Australia which is very expensive.
@@scribble6766 Yes i believe so. 3 years ago we went to Bali and we were shocked just how cheap the cost of living is there. especially, the beautiful huge villas! In the Ph, if you rent those kind of villas the cost would be around x3-4.

I just got this video forwarded to me by a friend. I am a local, currently living in NYC for years. Sometimes I told my friend that I could get a meal for $1 in my hometown : ) It is just completely different from my current city; expensive foods, tax, concrete jungle.. arrghh.. I will miss the beach. I can not come back now for vacation due to the pandemic. Stay safe Jean and take care...
Heya! Thank u for leaving me this note. I’m very appreciative that bali diaspora like yourself enjoy the videos of your hometown. I’m happy to be bringing happy memories to u. Enjoy NYC in the meantime! U will be home soon I’m sure
It’s not really about lowering costs but just we enjoy a simple life generally and don’t feel we need more. Lots of expats here live on higher budgets generally we think
Although the video is excellent and explains many details. As someone who retired here early 2000's I have become aware of the seemingly constant price rises in supermarkets and being charged 'bule' prices which is why i ask my driver to get for me! I think we should wait until Bali is back into full swing and then we may get a better idea of cost of living.
A refreshing video filled with practical information and beautifully produced. Your gentle vocal delivery and calm demeaner created such a peaceful feeling.
I just came here from China 🇨🇳 (to your channel). Best break down of expenses . Thank you 🙏 looking forward to visit Bali after these crazy pandemic times
peace in life can exists anywhere...city or countryside life. most important is your relationship with your partner, and having nice neighbors, working colleagues, and a social culture that respect each other for its differences.
very true. We can do everything we are doing here anywhere else in the world with the same state of mind and with each other, although having a facilitative environment always makes things easier of course.

Hope you & your husband will enjoy life in Bali as well as learning the unique local Balinese culture. God bless 🙏😇
Looks idyllic almost like a dream! Beautiful land and nice people. I must visit Bali one day for an extended vacation. Do you plan to live there forever? Beyond a vacation, how do you adapt to a new culture, and how would you cope when boredom or drudgery starts creeping in 6 months or two years down the road?
We’ve both separately n together lived in many different places across the world. Bali is our conclusion after all those experiences. Being here is the result of over 6-8 years of dedicated financial planning (saving n investing etc w this end goal in mind). We wanna be here precisely because we r passionate about surf, fitness n art n music n we can live here n do all that so everyday is a productive day for us. We’re never really bored n it feels quite busy each day to be honest.
Very well spoken words as to local’s “”priceless””. I am most humbled to visit countries and join locals to learn rich culture first hand. culture “is” a country’s biggest asset to enjoy.

Jean, thanks very much for yr most interesting, simple life in Bali. You are beautiful with such beauriful calming voice n body language. Love yr channel, very informative. Nice, quiet place. Only thing is the Medical facilities n safety. Hse rental is cheap also. Problem is transportation. Not able to ride motor bicycles as we are seniors. What about cars?
Jean tat was a good sharing but as usual I would just like to share wat one of my youtuber experienced in Bali a few weeks ago… (A-Train). Stay safe Jean n hubby n tq for ur videos.
Hey Ez, I don’t feel A Train’s incident was typical of people’s experiences in Bali because also keep in mind he was hanging around Kuta area at night alone when it happened. We’re in a completely different area that’s much less touristic and with a much stronger local community oversight. There’s not even discotheques in this whole area. Completely different vibe. It’s sad A Train experienced that before he left but I wouldn’t let that taint the whole picture. That cd hv happened anywhere else in the world too. We will stay safe though, n thank u for trying to alert us to possible dangers!
I like Bali very much. I have been there around 40 times. I went around from South of Bali to East, North and West of Bali. I visited many places there. I have thousands of Photos and videos about my trim in Bali. Stay safe and healthy.. Cheers.. God bless us all. Amen.
Loved this episode! I was wondering exactly this! Wow everything so cheap! How much do you pay for healthcare? Wow $18 -25 for that hipster restaurant... that sounds like normal US prices ... interesting the price difference between the local foods and the hipster places but then I guess that's proportionally like that everywhere in the world. Regarding your monthly living of $1400-1500 a month, and considering the place you live in and your lifestyle... I'm trying to understand if this is typical or not - like is this how most people live? Thanks for sharing I needed to see this because I know my future isn't in New Jersey lol and I have my sights set on Philippines but since I've been emersed in Indonesian cuisine lately, the thought has crossed my mind to perhaps one day settle in Indonesia too. I mean I have a long ways to go before I do anything but this was very good to know and to put things into perspective. Totally doable. In a future video if you can make a "How we make money" or "How we support ourselves" video that would be good too 😅 Thanks again Jean!
For most local at least middle class family like me, we live around 200-500 USD per month from groceries, bills, insurances and entertainment (I have my own house so I don't pay rent). Because in Bali the average salary is around 200 - 300 USD a month
@@jasonsong6747 In my opinion Jean have very similar lifestyle to the locals like me, but instead Jean have to pay motorbike, laundry, and rent. When I already have my Motorbike, house and do my own laundry (so I don't need to pay any of those). If you can avoid fancy cafes and alcohol, the living cost also can be pressed down
I would say for 2 person can spend around max USD 500/month (excluding rental) if exclude fancy restaurants, you still can dine in fancy restaurant maybe once a month or two still doable. Beers you can buy from supermarkets which is much cheaper than bars and you can bring them and drink in the beach. For laundry, if appliances in the house is not provided, if you stay a year at least, better to buy washing machine, you can get USD 100-200. Plenty option for rentals below USD 400/month too.

I read someone already mentioned your voice but let me say this again, it feels so peaceful watching this video, your voice really is very soothing! Thanks for showing us this information, I would love to visit Bali.
Thank u for this kind message Claudia, I appreciate it a lot. Bali is reopening soon so that shd be good news for u 😊😉🧘🏻♀️
I am glad the algorithms suggest this video for me. I dream to stop working soon (39 now) and live abroad, or travel so much, I rarely return to a home location in the US. Seeing this as a possibility increased because you shared your expenses. Terima kasih 🙏🏾
You’re very welcome! I’m really glad the information helps people out there to fulfil their dreams
Thank you Jean.. for staying in Bali.. your experience will echo through the media of what Bali has to offer.. stay healthy..
Bali has so much to offer, don’t worry. Once borders reopen bali tourism will revive like a dragon come awake 😄👍🏼
i dont like to comment on videos. But I love you simple straight to point video. And giving price points without unnecessary antics. Please continue it :) I am planning to stay in bali for a year next year. and your videos will definitely help me out.

A very good recommendation for others who wants to come and stay or live in Bali. Hope the life in Bali will go back to normal after they read this...much obliged 😇

So simply explained, so many items detailed….really well presented with lots of warmth and feelings..thank you guys.. enjoy your stay..
Love your video and your charming voice and life.Thank so much. From California.
Morning😀 the prices for ‘expat’ living is good in Bali if you know what to do and your place is so lovely. Yes nasi campur is also my favourite 🤩 Have a lovely weekend. 🙏
U too Khoo Keat thanks for stopping by 😄 happy Sunday to u
I am Indonesian but Idk why I watched this, your voice so calming, enjoy Bali Jean! Thank you for being a great visitor.
Thank u I’m so glad u enjoy the videos!
In general, the cost of living in Indonesia is very cheap because traditional markets provide all your needs... what is expensive is lifestyle habits 😁☕🥂🏖🏝🌞
Good observation. Very true. It’s like working in a city n being addicted to Starbucks - that’s also just another really expensive lifestyle habit
$2 for gasoline/week tells everything for me.
It's cheap, it's almost free.
@@palumbodiablo3031 $2 u can get 4liter for motorbike.
@@palumbodiablo3031 yes but remember, this is a motorbike, not a car
@@krishnadwisetiawan3207 not recomended to have car in Bali, you'll get congestion due to narrow street. Most bule will use motorcycle because they like to explore more. It's actually local tourists that rented car + driver
Thank you Jean That was very helpful to learn. Best Dave
Thanks for sharing how simple we all can live and be happy
Cheers Pe Tem 😄 happy Sunday to u
I’m currently planing on visiting and then (hopefully) moving! Thank you SO much for this information! You’re a god send ❤️
Glad u found it helpful! All the best w the travels!!! 😄🤗🤗🤗
This video is so inspiring. You have such a quality lifestyle. Well done!
We shd all strive for better quality living 😄👏🏻🤗
@@JeanVoronkova I will do it soon ;)
Thank you so much. I’m falling in love with Bali and this is mostly due to your informative videos.
thank you Nantambu, I'm glad the videos brought you some value!
Thanks Alice dear
I just watch your video, very interesting. Welcome to Bali, I plan to visit Bali soon. Hope you and your husband enjoy and have a nice time.
Thanks Steven, glad you found it helpful
Hello, Jean !! Thanks, such an interesting, beautifully filmed and edited video, good to get an idea of the local costs. I find myself more interested in how it reveals further, the lifestyle you are both experiencing and enjoying on Bali 😃 👍. Such a lovely place and positive, friendly people. Wishing you all the best, cheers, Don 🙋♂️
Thanks Don 😄 happy Sunday to u
Your video, bgm, vioce and narration is so beautiful. Iam planning to visit Bali as a tourist next month from India.
Thanks Amar! congrats on your upcoming trip you'll be one of the earliest international tourists to enter Bali since the pandemic!
Maybe you can choose also Living in West Java...Pangandaran Beach is Cheaper than Bali
Unique voice ...it sound like yoga voice version...
By the time I finish this video...I barely can open my eyes in very relaxing status which i really thank you for it .
And thank you for your valuable price information about Bali.
Me personally....indonesia is my last option as corruption is massive big and in.my case , it start from.the airport by making me pay unrequired visa fee ....
i can totally understand why u might feel that way... a country's system is an important factor in one's quality of life.... fortunately so far we've not had to encounter the system closely much.... hopefully things stay that way 🙏
i recommend you to buy online in tokopedia, more simple, afordable price and fast to delivery
sorry for my bad english but maybe thats wilk help you alot in the future😊🙏
Oh yes Tokopedia is another good online shopping site too, thanks a lot! 🙏🙏🙏
I live in Canada, and this video just has me in awe!! It costs so much to live here!! We live frugally and have no debt but the cost of living each month is extremely high, especially now because the cost of groceries is skyrocketing.
I live in Canada too and I agree it's only getting tougher from here... Watching videos like this makes me want to find a way out of this country haha
@@lieaticia me too!!
Canada... inflated living costs, high taxes and mediocre wages 😂
@@JeanVoronkova That's pretty solid advice. Thanks much!
The quality of your videos is outstanding.... superb!!

Thanks for dropping by this space I’m glad u like the videos 🙏😊
Ohhhh SINGAPORE, and husband RUSSIAN. That is fantastic! Bless you both! I am AMERICAN in the state named Georgia. South East above FLORIDA.
My brother in law works in Singapore now and for almost 20yrs I think. I want to visit him there to learn SINGAPORE culture. Many Asian countries I wish to visit still. I was humbled to work in PHILIPPINES for my American company (IBM CORP.).
HOPE I CAN GET WIFE TO BLOG SOME NEXT SPRING.

I just got this video forwarded to me by a friend.
I am a local, currently living in NYC for years. Sometimes I told my friend that I could get a meal for $1 in my hometown : )
It is just completely different from my current city; expensive foods, tax, concrete jungle..
Thanks for sharing! It seems quite affordable to live in Bali. You have found ways to keep costs way down. Good for you!
My goodness, everything is so reasonably priced in Bali; especially since I live in Southern California 🏖️
Very helpful, exelllent video that gives viewers an idea what the cost of leaving abroad..
Thank you.

Great information. What about personal safety and security in Bali as a foreigner?
As long as u stay out of Kuta area generally its wonderful. I feel very safe and welcome here as a female and as a bule ( foreigner )....

peace in life can exists anywhere...city or countryside life. most important is your relationship with your partner, and having nice neighbors, working colleagues, and a social culture that respect each other for its differences.
very true. We can do everything we are doing here anywhere else in the world with the same state of mind and with each other, although having a facilitative environment always makes things easier of course.

Hi Wisnu, thank u for the kind comment 🙏😄 hope u stay safe in Jakarta n take care too! Come back to visit your hometown soon 😄
I am most humbled to visit countries and join locals to learn rich culture first hand. culture “is” a country’s biggest asset to enjoy.
i really like that. Its so true. Culture here is Bali's biggest asset.
Thank u for sharing this price information - so useful! 😍👍🏼
Itu suatu yang murah untuk orang local tapi akan berbeda dengan turis berurusan dengan pajak kendaraan dan document ribet jadi lebih mahal....

Amen.
It is indeed a wonderful place awaiting your visit once borders open up in October 🙏😄 stay safe yourself!

Very very helpful
Glad it was helpful Parikshit! 😄🙏👏👍
@@ananda_adi Wow this is so interesting so I guess Jean's situation isn't typical
@@milaari3079 Very cool thanks so much!
