Kids were shooting and killing like they are now. It appeared we in the 1990’s were copying (and we were ) previous generations from the 80’s, 70’s, 60’ , 50’ and so on. The only difference now is we didn’t wear skinny jeans , Hispanics weren’t using the “N” word and social media wasn’t around to promote ridiculousness.

I grew up in Simi during the early seventies. I remember seeing the first cholos when I was in jr. high. They were a rare breed at the time. They carried themselves in a way that earned them a lot of respect. They respected us first, and we let each other coexist without any bs. I became close friends with one when we were In our twenties, he’s still like a brother.

Question. Why don’t we ever post pictures of La Raza graduating from top universities in the States and around the world. There are Chicanos and Mexicans out there too doing great things to really make our Raza proud, stand up and stand out.
A personal observation, we seem to be the people that celebrate education, specifically higher education, the least. For our majority it doesn’t seem to be our priority in life. 🤷🏻♀️

I grew up in Simi during the early seventies. I remember seeing the first cholos when I was in jr. high. They were a rare breed at the time. They carried themselves in a way that earned them a lot of respect. They respected us first, and we let each other coexist without any bs. I became close friends with one when we were In our twenties, he’s still like a brother.
