H18 takes that looming sense of dread, and makes it into something that's palpable for modern audiences. As I said. Not a bad choice by any stretch of the imagination. I'd honestly say it makes Halloween 2018 a little easier to digest as a movie, but you look at the success of films like A Quiet Place, and you can see how well a Michael Myers almost entirely true to his roots could be, especially if focuses are kept on the actual characters he's stalking, with Myers simply looming in the background, giving that sense of dread and doom again.
This scene and the scene where Michael is walking along the street during Halloween were two of my favourites. This scene captures the myth and evil of Michael Myers, the shock in the fellas face when he runs through the bathroom door to see Michael at 60-61 years old staring back at him.. chills. I think actually ageing Michael has made him scarier if anything else, he’s a bit slower but packs an extreme punch. Love it.
Martale Tribble man the realest thing in this movie was the little black boy he was like omg Im gonna go call help bye Lmao 😅😅😅😄 thats how us in real life black and hispanic would react in that situation lol
I like how he didn't have a mask or knife until about 1/3 through the movie so for a while he was going around unmasked and just killing with his bare hands. That's even more badass I think.
One of the creepiest things I've recently noticed at 1:11 If you have this film on blu-ray or dvd, pause at this moment where Michael approaches Dana's stall. While paused, use the fast forward button to slowly watch the scene frame by frame. If you look in the gap on the right as Michael walks in front of the stall, you can slowly see his face barely revealed, but the scariest part of it is that you can actually see him smiling with a teeth-baring grin.
Absolutely terrifying. Not only does the jump scares and the kills make michael scary, but what also makes him scary is that he’s emotionless, cold hearted, he kills for no reason.
@Keefy Fair enough but you don’t have to dismiss others simply because you don’t believe, and I’d say the same thing to religious people who put atheists down for their beliefs as well.
Well, one could say it's just a movie, but Michael Myers is the embodiment of Pure Evil and he's a complete lunatic so it's pretty hard to faze him with pain. You'll also probably notice that in real life complete lunatics and people that are on some serious drugs don't really experience much pain.
@@brushpackl9084 I'm sorry do you have a hard time reading or are you too lazy to actually read? I could have wrote an entire essay on this subject but I summarized the explanation in a simple short explanation as you called it a paragraph.
He had his head slammed several times against an unyielding concrete wall, then against a locked stall door until it swung open. He had undoubtedly fatal head injuries afterwards, hence the significant bleeding from the head. Aaron did indeed die
Ok one I don’t think her leg was broken as she was standing up. Two she is scarred but she isn’t frozen with fear as she was moving around and trying to reach the crow bar but she is stupid for not getting out of there or even helping her boyfriend
Monday night Rollins Yes they are! They are a couple! They loves each other. There’s a deleted scene with them in the shower together and stuff. In the movie they make it obvious they are together. They could even be married for all I know but I know that they are together
The most horrific part of this scene to me is how aaron originally came into save her, but as his head is continually slammed against the walls, his face becomes covered in blood, the damage to his brain leaves him in shock as he loses control over his body, leaving him almost confused, and ultimately he loses his strength as hes slammed through the door and he begs her for help, his voice so weak and shaky due to the shock.
The scariest part is that he is more or less capable of being real, he doesn’t hide in your dreams, he isn’t undead. He is a stone cold killer with a little fame.
Repo man His original concept, before they overpowered him in the cult trilogy, was of great interest. Anyone can be the shape, which makes michael more realistic and perhaps frighteningly relatable to how there is a monster in every one of us.
All the comments about how Dana should have helped or run away...the level of terror that having a maniac using your boyfriend's head to smash a door in around you would induce, would freeze you to the spot. That kind of shock and fear would paralyse a person. And seriously folks, would any of you really try to attack this dude? He just took a crowbar to the face and didn't even flinch.
i'm pretty sure i would either run away or fight with full on adrenaline not let him strangle me to death. in real life victims usually have defensive wounds/bruises signifying they did not die without a fight.

@@chaoticXmisfit no he would not. Jason is a brute, he has no agility or intelligence. Michael is the embodiment of evil and the sneakiest of killers. Don't play him tf.
Michael gets his super-human strength from a workout that requires all of your patience, which Michael had. Michael was pulling on a chain for decades making his biceps and hand to finger strength superior to a body builder because body builders limit the amount that they workout, Michael did not.
It is said that Michael is roughly 4X the strength of the average adult male. A trauma surgeon analyzed Michael's kills and when he reviewed this scene, he said that when Michael repeatedly slammed Arron's head into the wall and stall door, it for sure caused a fractured skull, massive brain hemorrhaging and blindness. When Arron hit the floor, he couldn't see or hear. He was dead within minutes.
This scene was so terrifying! When you're in a public restroom doing your business you are so vulnerable! Worst nightmare scenario to have the shape standing just outside your stall! This scene freaked me out! Still the creepiest scene in the movie!
What I especially love about this scene is you never really see Michael’s face up front or very clearly. You only get glimpses of the side, otherwise his head is either totally out of focus or it’s out of frame. Brilliant way to keep his appearance enough of a chilling mystery.
@@jerry-glenlovell8570 shut up! This Michael's more stealthier than that Michael. Rob Zombie's Michael is just a door destroying Jason wannabe. The first Rob Zombie film was film but the second one was pathetic. This right here now that's Michael Myers. Now this is The Shape.

@@NagandEmerald fair enough.
Love it.

Aaron hits Michael in the head with a crowbar
Michael- Am I a joke to you?
Hi bro
One of the creepiest things I've recently noticed at 1:11
If you have this film on blu-ray or dvd, pause at this moment where Michael approaches Dana's stall.
What was the point of her grabbing the crowbar when she could've just took that opportunity to get the hell out of there??
Fear. People can get pretty stupid when they're afraid.
@@StuckOnStupid84 so scared that you become paralyzed is such a stupid trait god made us have.

I don't understand
Well, one could say it's just a movie, but Michael Myers is the embodiment of Pure Evil and he's a complete lunatic so it's pretty hard to faze him with pain.
You'll also probably notice that in real life complete lunatics and people that are on some serious drugs don't really experience much pain.

Aaron didn’t die
He had his head slammed several times against an unyielding concrete wall, then against a locked stall door until it swung open. He had undoubtedly fatal head injuries afterwards, hence the significant bleeding from the head. Aaron did indeed die

3:11 I saw his face. When I found out the killer was an old man.
The amount of rage but calmness Michael had in this scene is insane, Angry, Yet Calm
3:10-3:40 Dana could have left instead of just staying in the bathroom
Michael broke her leg or something
Kit Kat ikr! Fear really had her frozen

How to get rid of Michael Myers

The way he hold up his mask before putting it on is cinematic masterpiece
Omg, I don’t care how old I am I will always be scared of Michael Myers
Me and you both.
The scariest thing is 61 year old Michael Myers is more lethal than he was at 21 in the 78’ film!
Same
All the comments about how Dana should have helped or run away...the level of terror that having a maniac using your boyfriend's head to smash a door in around you would induce, would freeze you to the spot. That kind of shock and fear would paralyse a person. And seriously folks, would any of you really try to attack this dude? He just took a crowbar to the face and didn't even flinch.
PRECISELY.
