    Geological mapping in ArcMap can be quite important for several reasons:
    1. Resource Exploration: Geological maps are used to explore and identify potential locations for natural resources such as minerals, oil, and gas.
    2. Natural hazard assessment: Maps can be used to identify and assess potential hazards such as earthquakes, landslides, and volcanic eruptions.
    3. Environmental Management: Geological maps can be used to manage and protect natural resources and the environment, such as identifying and mapping wetlands, or assessing the potential impact of development on the surrounding ecosystem.
    4. Urban Planning: Geological maps can be used in urban planning to identify potential soil stability issues, determine suitability of land for construction and avoid potential hazards, such as flooding or landslides.
    5. Education and Research: Geological maps are also used in education and research to teach students about geology and support ongoing geological research

    Thanks for the tutorials. Can you explain how the vegetation map is made? a video would be very helpful, thanks in advance.

      Hi, there are a few different ways to make a vegetation map. You might want to check out classification of Landsat/ Sentinel images using supervised/ unsupervised methods to derive landcover as well as different vegetation types based on spectral signature data.

    Good presentations. concepts Well explained. Please I followed you practically up to the insertion of the base map stage. I could not reduce the transparency of my map because, in its properties, there is no transparency. When I clicked on its properties, only General and Cache were opened and there was nowhere I could reduce the transparency. Please in this case, what should I do or please what am I not doing right? thank you

    • @geodeltalabs
      @geodeltalabs  Рік тому +1

      Hi, it could probably be because the layer you right clicked on was the layer which has the map type (open steer map, topo etc), but not the main Basemap layer. Try selecting the latter and you will have the transparency settings.
