    OVERALL SUMMARY
I made these videos to document my experience eating a diet termed the “Lion Diet” by Mikhaila Peterson, daughter of Jordan Peterson, who introduced this diet to my thinking. Lion Diet is a strict version of the Carnivore diet that only allows for ruminant meat, salt, and water. I am not a nutrition expert or doctor, but I hope you will find my story enjoyable and informational, as well as the other content I create.

I was the same so sick of burgers that's when I switched to Black Angus beef (Burgers) that was a game changer. These burgers are moist and so good you want more. Most of the burger meat in the store is tasteless not Black angus. It's not much more and can even be the same price. This is the only beef (black Angus) I eat for burgers.

Other good option for those on a budget: Flanken Style boneless ribs, Sirloin cap (Picahna) or even Chuck steak. I can get the ribs for under $4 a pound and they have a great fat/protein ratio and great taste. Ribeye is great but I reserve it for special occasions only due to price. Congrats to your wife on her progress! Mine won't listen to me. lol. She's doing some form of Keto but doesn't want to up the fat intake. She still eating chicken, lean cuts of meat, salads and olive oil and restricting the amount of food that she eats. She did well on weight loss in the beginning. She came down 4 sizes but I can tell she's stalled right now. Since she's changing her diet because of me and not necessarily for medical reasons like me, I guess she's not as motivated as I am. I hope that eventually, she goes in 100% and not halfway. I stopped pressuring her as not to demotivate her. Blessings Dante.

Dante' I have changed what meat I am eating and how I am cooking it. I have been eating mostly meats and water with salt for 6 months 2 weeks in this time I have gone from 280lbs-256lbs, HbA1C 12.6 - 7.0 (my target 5.0), I have transitioned from NY, Ribeye, and Porterhouse to Roast Rump/Shoulder/Chuck and the occasional Pork Butt, and Rarely Chicken breast or Fish. Doing the cooking these days is slow cooking in a "Ninga Foodi" simmering the cooked meat in the fluids on warming cycle for a good while after coking so the meat reabsorbs the fat and fluids seasoning with Redmunds Salt and hickory. One of these days I will get to eat grass feed and buying a whole animal or land where I can raise my own food. Hi from a southern man stuck in SW Indiana.

So you mentioned the problem with store beef often being like shoe leather. I felt I had to find a solution given the rising prices for beef. So I bought a cheap suis vide machine and it is a game changer. I haven't been using it long but I am sold. My first experiment was with an eye of round roast, nothing says shoe leather like something from the round area. After thirty six hours it was about fork tender and with suis vide it cooks evenly all the way through. Usually you want to do a short searing session to create a crust. In the last couple of days I have been doing chuck steaks, which in the past have been gristly and tough and they were as tender as any rib eye after twenty four hours.

@@51Springfield It is the Black and Decker one that doubles as a crock pot. The capacity is limited to seven quarts, but the machine is complete at about $70 from Amazon and Walmart. Usually you end buying just the heater/circulator and getting the immersion tank separate. This seemed like the cheapest over all solution to me. I got a couple of round point roasts at Sam's that were marked down to $3.36/lb and one is in the machine right now. Given the results with the eye of round, zi have high hopes for it.

If your wife is having a hard time, have her start tracking her macros to understand what she is eating and keto is fine for a newcomer. I was Keto five years until I made the switch. I wouldn’t suggest not eating enough to be satiated. You don’t want to get in a fight with your hypothalamus; if your brain thinks you’re starving it can be counterproductive to your goals. Maybe try two larger meals a little closer together (still technically OMAD to advocates) so you don’t have those hunger battles.

I'm a new carnivore and I don't get how people eat the same things. I'm a creative scratch cooker, so eating the same thing isn't my style. I eat beef brisket, beef shoulder and beef chuck roast. I eat beef liver and beef heart. I get beef bone marrow. I cook on my cast iron skillet and I also have a small portable wood burning stove for when I want to cook outside of my van home over an open fire. There's no way I could or would eat just ground beef. I recently had a craving for burgers so I bought a 1/2lb of beef brisket and beef chuck roast and chopped it up myself with my big knife. I LOVE my carnivore lifestyle but that might be because I'm so creative and I don't eat the same old thing everyday. Lol

I just had to tell you, last night I had the best ribeye steak I have ever had. Crispy on the outside and red and juicie on the inside. I normally get steaks from the market that are !/2 inch to 3/4 in thick. I guess for Christmas they had standing rib roast on sale. I learned how to cut off the bones and save them. That left me with a big hunk of rib eye I cut 1 1/4 inch thick. The thinner stakes are harder for me to get the Meater installed. I put in a frozen steak in my power XL air frier and after 15 minutes I could get the prob in. I like using McCormick Mapple BBQ rub with a little olive oil. Oh it was thick and delicious. The only problem is I will run out of rib roasts to cut up and have to go back to thin steaks. Did not realize how good thick steaks are. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.

I had to start to line my plate with pieces of cold butter taking a bite of butter with a bite of steak or bite of burger to hit the fat number consistently. Cowboy ribeye from Walmart around $16-22 is our Absolute Favorite!! So tender and mouth watering delicious when cooked properly in air fryer! 400 deg- cook 18 min after preheating- flip at 8 min- perfect every time! Melted butter and smoked salt also if using butter.. 🧈 And we always use the parchment paper things to make cleaning fryer a cinch!

I am two weeks in on my carnivore journey. Today I had the uncontrollable desire to eat spam, eggs, rice, and baked beans. I’m from Hawaii and have been wanting some spam and bean with rice so bad I can’t think. I broke down and bought a can of beans. I also been thinking of drinking a beer and I don’t drink. I can see how this diet is difficult to do long run.

I have a problem with the Air Fryer.......Over 4 years carnivore and first time using one, the grease that floats in the air and lands on the ceramic floor makes it slippery even after we washed it (the floor)!! I did chicken wings, pork belly and steak. Only the steak didn't have the floating grease......I think the temp was too high? Can the floating grease be mitigated? I cooked for 20 mins at 375*. Please regular air fryers users chime in here! I'm determined to make it work. Currently cooking outside with an extension cord...but I don't want to ruin the deck...plus cooking in minus 30 C outside in Canada doesn't sound appetizing.

      Interesting 🤔
We have ceramic tile floors also and though I cook in one nearly every day I have not had this issue.
Oh, I see you also use pork belly, and I suspect it could be the way pork fat differs from beef fat and other ruminants. I have never cooked pork in mine, though my wife has cooked chicken in there, so it could simply be the pork making the difference… could be wrong, but it’s the only thing I’m doing different and getting a different result. I hope this helps… 🙏🏽😎👍🏽🥩💧🧂

It’s getting harder theses days. I’ve had to cut back on ribeye when Publix didn’t run their usual $5.99 lb ribroasts this past Labor Day. They were $6.99 lb back on Easter which wasn’t so bad, but the best the could do Labor Day was $10.99 lb for bone-in ribeye. Thank our wonderful spend-money-we-don’t-have government for the devaluation of our money often known as inflation…

It doesn’t HAVE to be all or nothing. I eat organic fruit, that is naturally occurring in nature, organic raw honey, raw dairy, meat, and fermented kraut for probiotics and gut health and my health numbers are phenomenal. I run marathons, and have plenty of energy. Not everyone needs to be strict carnivore. Strict carnivore is for people with food addictions and health issues relating to autoimmune, etc. just something to think about while trying to navigate the family.

How do u know when your hungry

    • @FerrignoFreedom
      @FerrignoFreedom  9 місяців тому +1

I suppose you’re asking about the difference between being hungry and just having a craving for something.
Hunger is a physical sensation. You may feel a growling stomach, lightheadedness, or fatigue when you're hungry. Cravings, on the other hand, are more of a mental urge. You may think about food constantly or have a strong desire to eat a specific food.
Hunger is satisfied by any food. When you're hungry, you're likely to eat anything that's available. Cravings are more specific. You may only want to eat a certain food, such as chocolate or ice cream.
Hunger comes on gradually. You'll start to feel hungry after a few hours without food. Cravings can come on suddenly and intensely.
Hunger can be ignored. If you're busy or distracted, you can usually ignore hunger pangs until you have a chance to eat. Cravings are more difficult to ignore. You may find yourself thinking about food constantly, even when you're not hungry.
