thumbs up for telling us your opinion. a lot of youtubers showed a bunch of videos and ask us viewers to make up our minds. after going through youtube video and audio compression, what you see and hear is very different from reality.
Great video and thanks again for the shout out! We are waiting on our refund and will be going with the Sony RX100 VII. It's a great camera. However it is pricey. Focus was never an issue so at this point we are willing to invest in it.
You're so welcome! The RX100 is good choice, I think you'll love it. It will definitely be worth it with kids since they are never going to be this age again, and well-focused videos make for better memories 😃
Many thanks for your very honest review. I was about to buy the Canon G7xIII for my teenage daughter, but heard about the AF issue. Most testers I'm used to watch are telling this has been fixed. I'm glad I've seen your video. But now, I'm stuck. It looks almost funny to see that, in 2019, there is no camera able to offer : body stabilisation + flip up screen + external mic port + 50fps in FHD, + under 1000 USD. Well, there is one...which is crap because of its AF.
Bought it, then returned it. Bought it again when they released the firmware update - returned it again. Agree with everything you said - 100%. Plus the whole “we’ll give you back 24p” situation... I’m 5 days into the RX100vii. Never been a fan of Sony files, but it’s a great camera. Really looking forward to your next video! Thanks for all the great tips & tricks!
Oh man! I wondered if anyone ended up buying/ returning it twice. Hopefully all of those returns are a BIG signal to Canon to get it together. At least the 24p thing is cut and dry, so that update should work out well. So glad you're loving the RX100 though! I am THIS close to giving that one a try 😄Do you think the color and overall look of the Sony is that much different from Canon?
I used to have an a6500, and honestly, the difference is like night and day. 1080 looks as nice as 4k. Really nice skin tones, and the greenish hues of the past are gone. I also got the VCTSGR1 grip and the small Saramonic SRXM1 mic - makes for a great combination.
I have found that will a bit of practice I have made the mark III work. The original focus mode holds focus better when stationary and the new one works better when I am moving around. The low light performance and 120fps do add a somethings to the conversation as well not to mention the small size and vastly improved audio via the external adaptor. I do think for the price point it is a good vlogging camera but it does require some work to use and I am still waiting for the 24p.
That's great to hear! Thanks for your input. Yes there are definitely some major PROS to this camera, and the low light performance is simply amazing. I'm sure the 24p will work out well too. Perhaps more AF firmware updates will come eventually- I remain hopeful!
Would you recommend the mark iii for a beginner? I just bought it but I’m really concerned about the autofocus and not extremely tech savvy with camera settings yet. @TheHolyMoly
@@leaveittolay if you want focus you need to get used to pausing and using the tap to focus feature. Also ensure the firmware has been upgraded on the Mark iii so you get both auto focus mode and go with the slow auto focus mode the fast is annoying if it is struggling. If you want great auto focus go with Sony . Any of the canon cameras with dual pixel auto focus are good as well.
I had orderd and was looking forward to receive the camera by tomorrow and saw accidentally your video suggested by UA-cam !. You didn't make my evening but still great video :))
Thank heavens I watched your video on the Mk III autofocus. I had the Mk I years ago and was thinking about buying the Mk III naturally thinking it would be even better than the original which was a wee cracker when it came out. Serious own goal by Canon! Thank you for helping me to dodge a bullet. Loved the video - great factual content and very easy listening 😊.
I'm an experienced videographer, but only a prospective vlogger. Vlogging from my home studio/office will be a snap with my DSLR. However, so much vlogging content is on the go that I've been in search of a camera like the G7x. At this point, I've decided on using a iPhone 11 Pro Max for my on the go content. It's a kickass device with great features, and offers the added benefit of being always in my pocket. A BIG PLUS for me is that wherever I go, I can record without getting stares or complaints. Everyone has a phone camera, and nobody complains. I'll add one of those nifty Rode microphones like you have and I'll be good to go. Thanks for your great content!
Sure thing! It's great to hear what's working for you.. Yes the iPhone is a great camera, and it definitely is more discreet/ common to have than a bigger vlogging camera so that's a plus!
200% agree with you. I won mark2 since long, quickly bought mark3, then realized this serious autofocus issue, updated the firmware, but it is NOT even close to mark2. Sending is back tomorrow. So far will stick to my mark2 and a6500 for some time now
My favorite vlogging camera right now is my Galaxy S10+. Shoots 4K on front and back cameras, has dual pixel AF, has stabilization, has ultrawide, tele and wide shots, waterproof, and also has a microphone in for external audio. I can even edit and upload and share on the phone itself. It of course isn't going to replace an actual DSLR or even point & shot and yes I do miss that Canon color science, but I have it with me at all times. I still haven't found the right actual camera to vlog with. I saw the G7x 3 and wanted to look around for reviews and as I expected it wouldn't be the right camera to buy. =) Thanks for the review and updates!
And it makes phone calls too! That's so cool to hear 😃I know those phones are great cameras. It's too bad the Mk III isn't what we hoped, but I'm glad the Galaxy is working well for you for now!
I am getting a G7X III to review soon and have used the RX100 II and recently the RX100 VII. I have been so happy with the VII overall but the investment is hefty. I couldnt believe I went without the flip up screen for so long but that in itself was so nice. I wanted to get a grasp on the G7X III issues before receiving the camera and this video was very helpful since I have very little Canon background at all. I am hoping the performance of the G7X III isnt as bad as it sounds because I own the RX100 VII but it'll be a great opportunity to do a comparison as I am not on the hook for anything close to retail price.
Hello! I was one of the many who asked you about the firmware update in the comment section of one of your prior videos about the canon g7x mIII, so I just wanted to say thank you for this video!!
That's awesome and you're welcome!! Sorry if I didn't get to your comment over in the other video.. I just figured it was time to start making this one already! I hope it was helpful 🙂Are you a current G7x III owner?
AMaeTV no need to apologize! This video was the very helpful response I was looking for! I do not own the g7x mIII, I actually decided to invest my money in the canon eos m50! I was antsy to get my hands on a camera, & I’ve seen many of your videos about the m50 as well and thought it would be better for me! Thank you for all your help ! I am very happy with the m50! Your presence is greatly appreciated!! 😇
@@brendacastellon6350 Nice! So glad you're loving the M50 and my videos were helpful on that purchase too. It's a great camera and that dual pixel AF never disappoints. Thank you for your kind words and support of the channel 😃
I had such a fun time transitioning from iPhone to canon. iPhone told me “storage full” all the time and it ruins my streaming. I so love the camera and it’s the best!!!! It’s so much fun vlogging now.
Wow! You saved me - I was about to order my 4th camera, (G7X Mark III),now I won't! . I've returned the previous three (two Sony RX 100's - the VA & the VI and the Canon SX 740 - it's depressing the companies cannot do a better job! -I want a decent on board mic (like the one on my Canon SX 230) and good low light w/compact size. I like Canon, but they apparently are getting just like Sony- let every model come up just a little short. Thanks for helping me not make the Big mistake!
Thanks for the honest info about the update, it seems so many times the reviewers so want the fix to make things better because they are vested at that point as well. So the review gets "rosed up". I'll keep using my Mk2 but I dread the day I will need to do the behind the lens dust removal operation.
Haha yess! And I definitely wanted the fix to work, but we have to be real about it. My hubby has actually done the dust removal operation on mine- with a power drill. It fixed about 80% of the problem but the lens is badly scratched inside. That doesn't mean it couldn't work for you :)
Spot on review! We got this camera as our first proper vlogging camera. We still use it now, just because we went away, I fell over, accidentally smashed it into a brick (honestly an accident 😱) and now we can't return it 😨. So that is the first disaster of vlogging haha. We actually still use it because we can't find a camera and can't risk buying another one that will be wrong. Any slight movement and it goes out of focus. Thinking about the new M50 mark ii. Just wondering what you think? Seen some reviews and people are upset with Canon as it seems like just a firmware upgrade from the M50. (I'm going around in circles). I need it for vlogging, outdoors, indoors, low light. And for colour purpose I want to stick with Canon. Any advice would be superb 💜x
I watch TheTimTracker, he uses the G7X Mark 3. He was frustrated with it, but continued. I noticed it has gotten better, but you're right, there's still a fuzziness, like the camera hasn't quiet finished focusing.
Not entirely convinced that the Firmware update has addressed the "focusing issue". Here was their reply to me upon raising my concern. ""Thank you for your request and for contacting Canon. Canon has indeed released a firmware update for this camera in December 2019, which had mainly to do with capturing movies. If Canon realizes that there is another issue with the performance of the camera, it will be officially announced on our website or the support page of the product. For now, the camera according to Canon is performing as expected.""
Yeah, it's very 'It is what it is' sort of response. I think that Canon doesn't want a point and shoot to be better than their mirrorless or DSLR cameras.. so this is just what we get 😏
I order a mark iii since the mark ii i wanted sold out. Thanks for the honest opinion. I already have a dslr canon 7d mark ii so im strickly using the mark iii for vlogging and sit down videos
You nailed it. It's definitely better but I decided to return it bc it pulses in and out of focus. I wanted it to work sooooo bad but unfortunately it was still not useable by my personal standards.
Yep I know the feeling! It was such a roller coaster of emotions from the pre-release to the first crappy focus to the firmware till now.. Oh well, I'm glad we both have high personal standards 😄👍🏼
Wanting to buy a compact camera for my wife. Is the g7x mark ii still a good buy? Is the autofocus ok on mark ii? How does it compare to Sony zv1? Mostly for photography but videos too.
In a nutshell, with oldschool contrast AF ("sans DPAF") you need something like the face ID (from the mark 2) or it'll never be entirely sure what to focus on. This was clearly a prototype they rushed out to beat the Sony RX100 VII and is just cashing in on brand and model loyalty. Truth be told, my Galaxy S10 does a pretty good job for general vlogging, surprisingly well in low light. So that + a cheap gimbal seems like a really great option for casual video these days.
@@ScubaCat3 The only part of this analysis I may or may not agree with is the Galaxy S10 part, because I have never used it. However, the analysis of Canon cashing in on brand loyalty is 100%! Sadly 😆
Your communication skills are a gift from God. You're amazing! Thanks for this very informative video. I'm a proud subscriber. :-) Please keep coming up with amazing content.
Yes, Canon did a firmware update to fix the autofocus, and in that update it appears they removed the ability to change what is going out via HDMI. It is like the menu item disappeared.
Thanks for your thoughts. Welp, looks like I'm sticking with the Mark II as my run-and-go vlogging camera. (For the record, my main - and fave - camera is still Canon's SL2.) Oh, and the part where your hubby comes in and says hello is so friggin' adorable! Haha, I love it. Thanks, Alicia!
Thanks Jay! Yes Hubby deserves a cameo especially in his flight suit 😊I think the Mark II is a good choice, for now anyway. So glad the SL2 has worked out for you too!
You're awesome! Thank you. I know it's just the same query, but I wonder how the 1.3 version firmware has helped people. I'm not interesting in vlogging, I just want a smaller camera than my DSLR and a million lenses etc. Cheers!
To answer my own query less than 10 minutes after typing the comment above. No. They didn't fix it. What a shame. See this video for a 1.30 firmware response video: ua-cam.com/video/Ms_rfIRyHGU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ONITMedia
I was all set to get the updated G7X MkIII after also having a great experience with the G7X MKII. But if its not really fixed...I presume there’s been no further update in 2020 to fix the fix?
So, I got the Sony Mark V. I'm really impressed with the crispness, and the background depth of field that I can achieve with it. I really like what I've seen on UA-cam of the Canon G7x II despite some of the autofocusing issues (which me being OCD would be using tap to focus anyway). I dont like the 4k on the Sony, it's too shaky and don't want a stabilizer to lug around. Would the canon G7x be the best bet to achieve that shallow depth of field for vlogging, while taking great photos like I can on the Sony? Thinking of swapping the two out.
Yes the Sony V is the sweet spot because it still has the 1.8 aperture. I'm glad you like it! The thing about the AF on the Mark iii is that tap to focus doesn't even work- like you I'm constantly half pressing the shutter and tapping on the Mark ii- which is fine. I'd say that as long as you're not in great need of perfect audio then yes the Mark ii will get you the best shallow depth while vlogging. I"m doing a FULL video comparing the best vlogging camera for 2020 soon so stay tuned my friend :)
With my Lumix LX15 I have the same issue, I just don't use continuous AF at all. Now that the flippy screen died on me, I have to manually focus with smartphone app ;)
Thanks for the video! I was debating between the G7x Mark III and the M50, and went with the M50 for lens options so I can use it for regular photography too. And watching this, I am so glad I did!! I thought the Mark III would have better focus than the Mark II, which I think looks like it has a hard time focusing, based on watching videos I know where shot with it. So disappointing!!
I agree that for parents, autofocus is the most important thing. You don’t want to show your video to your kids when they grown up and be asked “why I’m so blurry”
Have canon made another update since this video till now in May 2021?. Any improvements on that auto focus?. Thanks for your video I am looking at upgrading to another camera.
May U tell me what version of actualization did you use?. Because in the page there are 2 versions: (1.1) and (1.2). And maybe with the 1.2 version all the problems can be solved.
Loved the video, and subscribed!! Very on the fence now.. I found a great auction for the G7X Mark III and your last test video from Think Media was fairly flattering for that model.. hard to say. We currently vlog with our iPhone 8, GoPro Hero 5 and Nikon Coolpix A900.. the Coolpix is a very heavy camera with a very short battery life, but does shoot in 4K. It has the same issues with auto-focus however and not near as sharp in all light settings as the Cannon G7X.. but is is 4K..lol Wondering if I should jump on the auction for the Mark III at $565?!
Wow, I just came across this review after receiving a G7X Mark iii as a Birthday gift to replace the gopro i normally use in my car videos. Has there been any other updates about this issues and has Canon tried to do anything else after the software upgrade?
thank u for review honersly , the g7x is based on contract focus system it has this kinda problem . I think xt3 is perfect for u even use it as pro jobs. now xt4 even better .
I’m frustrated because I just upgraded to the mkiii and when I do just sitting videos I feel like half the time I’m out of focus and I’m well lit and not really moving around. I had the OG and this feels terrible in comparison 😞 idk if anyone has found a workaround for just sitting talking UA-cam videos on the mkiii
Fist let me say your hair and you look absolutely amazing! I too looked at dozens of G7X 3 test and review videos and share your disappointment. That two-step slow and slower autofocus is bizarre. I think it will be another significant wait for Canon to satisfy us. I’m sticking with a zoom audio recorder for challenging sound solutions. I assume you used your m50 and perfect lighting for this video. I think that M50 is a better bang for the buck right now. My 80D is not chopped liver and now I want a 90D. I also want a crew to carry all my stuff. This video was bit long at 12:27 but I could watch you all day. You’ve got a great voice and broadcast personality. Frankly you should be anchoring network news with a multi-million dollar contract. I’d put you in feature films too. I hope you and your wonderful family has a great Thanksgiving! I really hope we meet someday!
Thank you! Yes I did use my M50 and studio lights, and I even blow-dried my hair (rare for this mom) 😃And yes this was definitely a RANT video lol. I love your external audio solution to sticking with the G7x II. It's great that you have the tech skills to pull that off. And seriously, they should rename them Mode Slow and Mode Slower. 😄I want a crew to carry my stuff too!! Or just a cameraman, forget the cameras. You would NOT want me in feature films because I can't actually ACT worth anything. I would just laugh the whole time if I had to be serious. But thank you for your kind words as usual Paul! I hope we get to meet someday too. Perhaps I'll head back out to Vidcon next year 👍🏼
Hey I've been subbed to your channel ever since you made your first G7X mark III video's before this whole firmware update and we spoke back then. I was just about to pull the trigger on it tomorrow on black Friday before seeing this but I think I may hold off again. Anyways I also have the Canon M50 that I sometimes use for my channel here in NYC but prefer using my new GoPro Hero 8 Black in 4K! The only problem is it's not good in low light. And my Canon M50 with my 22mm low light lens is good but the cropped FOV and no IS in that lens really bothers me so once again I'm stuck. Anyways what lens were you using on your M50 in this video?
It's so frustrating isn't it!! I really wish the perfect camera existed.. I'm working on a new video really working thru each camera and each issue and how to maybe tackle them. I was looking at that 22mm but it does seem a bit close for vlogging.. I really wish Canon would make some new M mount lenses to choose from! I'm using the M50 kit lens for this video. I have 2 big softbox lights going so low light isn't an issue. Thanks for continuing to enjoy the channel!
@@AMAETV GUESS WHAT!!!??? After I wrote you like the next day I found out that Sigma just came out with 3 amazing lenses for our camera! I just ordered mine and it arrives tomorrow. I don't have a G7X series camera Alicia, but I have a quick question for you... Does the G7X II or III have better stabilisation than the M50.. I'm avoiding filming with the M50 for walking Vlogs as it's so shaky even when set to stabilise video. Have experimented with Post stabilisation in VideoPad but the footage becomes very jello like.. Cheers, Greg..
YES, it definitely does. The stabilization is one of the best things about the G7x for vlogging. I tend to use my M50 more for the sit-down stuff now for this reason. I know that jello look that comes from stabilizing in post too... it's awful. It's so frustrating that we can't just have it all in one camera!! I think you'll enjoy a video I have coming soon- it's about a small, compact gimbal that can hold the M50. It just might be the perfect vlogging setup and it will certainly eliminate the shake. Stay tuned Greg!
Yeah will look forward to the Gimbal video for the M50, that's for sure... I have been doing some research and the DJI Ronin SC Mirrorless Gimbal seems a pretty good gimbal @ $569 (Australian) .. I'm sure there are some cheaper options and probably lighter as the Ronin SC weighs 1.1kg then add Camera and Mic its getting close to 2 kgs (4pounds), way too much to carry whilst vlogging!!!!
This camera is perfect. Focus is tack sharp. People need to understand how the product works. I own this camera and have no complaints for autofocus. Don’t be fooled by these biased reviews from all the bloggers. Buy now and you will thank me later
Thanks for the review. I have been waiting to see the firmware update. Would love to know your opinion on external mics. Is it really important or can you really get away with the onboard mic with the G7X Mark II?
Yes, the external mics really are helpful. Not so much to capture amazing sound, but more to avoid the sound that comes from the camera. There is this slight grinding noise that can come from the Mk III when it's focusing or zooming, and you can hear it in the audio. The trick is to not let anyone talk until the shot is set up and don't zoom if the audio is important. Anytime you get that sound in your video you can just mute the clip and add music or voiceovers to that part.. depending on what you're creating. That's what I did anyway. Perhaps I'll make a whole video on this very question. Hope that helps! 😃
Thank you so much and a video would be awesome! I would love the get the mark III because of the external mic but if focus is still an issue, maybe the mark II. I love how small the camera is but also the quality of the sound is import. So hard to decide what to do, lol Love your work!!
Such good info! I'm doing the research now to buy in a couple of days and this was SO HELPFUL! I'm an artist and am filming mainly inside my house - would you say the G7x Mark II or the Canon M50 would be better for that kind of situation with lightning? Would love to know your thoughts!
Glad it was helpful! For indoors- unless you have killer lighting then I'd say the G7x thanks to the 1.8 aperture lens. Although if you are doing something in a studio type setting at home I highly suggest buying some soft box lights- which would make using the M50 just fine.. Check out my video on my studio setup! ua-cam.com/video/RoVnx94wrZY/v-deo.html
Bummer!! But I was pretty much expecting those results, there's only so much a firmware update can improve upon if the problem is mostly hardware related. I'm still using the Mk II :) BTW are you using a teleprompter? If so is it the Parrot? I'm doing the research for one and thought maybe you might have a suggestion. Cheers!
Yep exactly. Firmware isn't magic! And yes I have the Parrot and love it! It's so simple. I only use it for super detailed scripted videos and I find I rarely actually read from it, just follow notes, although it can be super helpful if I'm in a hurry. Shoot me an email if you have more questions about it 😃
Sure thing! Holding out is a good idea.. I do still recommend the Mark II, although I desperately wish it had an audio input. I love the camera but I'm not prepared to buy a new one at this point (my old one is very beat up), so I'm holding out for now too 😄

I got the 10 as well, but not good for lowlight.
First time here, and I love that you kept when your man came in ❤️ love it.
AMaeTV 😊😊😊
I had such a fun time transitioning from iPhone to canon. iPhone told me “storage full” all the time and it ruins my streaming. I so love the camera and it’s the best!!!! It’s so much fun vlogging now.
So happy to hear that! Yeah I don't like using my phone for filming mostly for that reason. Enjoy your upgraded Canon experience 😃
This is why I never jump in and buy when something first comes out. Still loving my MKII
Me too!
That's always a good strategy!
Me Toooooo... Mark ii is legend
I watch TheTimTracker, he uses the G7X Mark 3. He was frustrated with it, but continued. I noticed it has gotten better, but you're right, there's still a fuzziness, like the camera hasn't quiet finished focusing.
Yep, I think once you get to know that fuzziness you can spot it more easily, even after the update 😏
I already have a dslr canon 7d mark ii so im strickly using the mark iii for vlogging and sit down videos
what a beautiful baby! God bless her!
So glad i went with the Sony rx100 vii. Focus is never an issue and longer zoom.
yea for double the price...
Can't believe that I was there to watch the G7x 1 and G7x 2 review from a long time ago and now we're here. Kid's off to college and all. lol =)
Haha yep! 😃
Wanting to buy a compact camera for my wife. Is the g7x mark ii still a good buy? Is the autofocus ok on mark ii? How does it compare to Sony zv1? Mostly for photography but videos too.
Thank you for posting your honest review. I’ve wondered what you thought of the firmware update.
You're welcome! I wish my opinion was different but it is what it is for now😏
I just ordered the eos m50 and saw this video pop up and nearly had all the regret. Phew! You are so right!
Yay! You will love the M50, and if you don't then you can always just get fancier lenses for it 😃
In a nutshell, with oldschool contrast AF ("sans DPAF") you need something like the face ID (from the mark 2) or it'll never be entirely sure what to focus on.
Yep, you said it so well!
@@AMAETV I agree with your analysis of my analysis
@@ScubaCat3 The only part of this analysis I may or may not agree with is the Galaxy S10 part, because I have never used it. However, the analysis of Canon cashing in on brand loyalty is 100%! Sadly 😆
Glad I'm still holding on to my G7x mii. Just use it for street photography and it's excellent.
Your communication skills are a gift from God. You're amazing! Thanks for this very informative video. I'm a proud subscriber. :-) Please keep coming up with amazing content.
WOW thank you Mark! 😄And welcome to the channel!
Agreed!
It’s still not fixed. I took the cam because of the external mic. Now I’m using it in my holidays in Thailand and it’s totally frustrating 😖
Yes, Canon did a firmware update to fix the autofocus, and in that update it appears they removed the ability to change what is going out via HDMI. It is like the menu item disappeared.
Gotta love Canon and the disappearing functions on this one!
Should I just return the mark iii for the mark ii?
would you recommend it for "static videos" where the person won’t move significantly?
Thanks for the Canon g7x Mark iii Information
Thanks for your thoughts. Welp, looks like I'm sticking with the Mark II as my run-and-go vlogging camera. (For the record, my main - and fave - camera is still Canon's SL2.) Oh, and the part where your hubby comes in and says hello is so friggin' adorable! Haha, I love it. Thanks, Alicia!
Thanks Jay! Yes Hubby deserves a cameo especially in his flight suit 😊I think the Mark II is a good choice, for now anyway. So glad the SL2 has worked out for you too!
Just got the Sony zv1 thank you 🙏
You're awesome!
Excellent review. Thank you!
Love this review! Thank you ❤️
So glad it was helpful!
I agree that for parents, autofocus is the most important thing. You don’t want to show your video to your kids when they grown up and be asked “why I’m so blurry”
Haha good point! By then the kids will have in-built brain technology for autofocus and they will think our tech is SO outdated 😆
The Husband vlog bombing had me laughing. :)
Haha yes! I love when he pops in from time to time 😆
Wow, I just came across this review after receiving a G7X Mark iii as a Birthday gift to replace the gopro i normally use in my car videos.
It's the Sigma 16mm F 1.4 wide angle lens! You should definitely check it out! I'll be unboxing it on my channel and doing real world testing! Don't miss it. Ttyl.

Thank you, appreciate the honest and fun review!
Very helpful - i'll look for another camera - don't want to spend £800 on something that won't perform to expectations
Shoot me an email if you have more questions about it 😃
Thanks for a tough but honest review.
Sure thing! I really wanted the fix to work, but we've got to be honest about it 😏
Another great video. Thanks for being honest
Absolutely! Glad the review was helpful.
Great Vlog, awesome explana
Thanks so much!
Thanks very much for thid great review. I am holding off any purchases for now. I love Canon. Do you still recommend the mark ii?
Sure thing! Holding out is a good idea.. I do still recommend the Mark II, although I desperately wish it had an audio input. I love the camera but I'm not prepared to buy a new one at this point (my old one is very beat up), so I'm holding out for now too 😄
Dope video!! Plus husband was sooo jokes 🖤
Happy to link to the product to get commission but otherwise troll the product, seems a bit contradictory...
So... you haven’t tried it, but you’re making a video about it? Can’t respect your opinion on the matter if you haven’t used it in the wild.
Not you ignoring the other 3 videos she's made about this camera...

AWESOME THANK YOU FOR THAT.
IM NOT BUYING MARK 3
Thanks I was thinking of buying but autofocus is key, I wish mark iv have DPAF
Yep, if the AF isn't there then nothing else matters. The wait for the perfect vlogging camera continues!
AMaeTV I like the canon m5 mark ii but with the flip out scream will be perfect
TQ!
Damn good review.
Hope they dont mess up with the mark 4 seriously! Where is the camera!? Isnt it over due?
A Mk IV would be amazing!! Hopefully with dual pixel AF and the same audio input. I am hoping it comes sooner than later.
AMaeTV been waiting for it for ever! I hear is not coming till the first quarter or 2021. We might hear the rumors late Oct-Nov. if i hear anything ill let you know
On which camera was this filmed?
This was filmed on my Canon M50. Great camera! The lens and everything else should be linked in the video description.
This makes me so mad. We waited YEARS and they failed
Canon should use the phrase Apple did; " You're Holding It Wrong" Ultra LOL
Haha yes! And show us how to hold it correctly, please Canon.
I bet autofocus is perfect in macro.
My next camera is the G7x ii
Good choice! I might buy a new one soon myself 😊
Canon cripple hammer never fails :D
Thanks for this, i love the mark3 because of its mic output BUT,maybe il wait for the next generation of this..il skip this horrible model!
Did Canon g7x mark 3 fix the auto focus in the last update? The answer is no still.
It's shit :(
Hi AMae,
I am just starting out vlogging and searching for the best low budget camera, i was so set on G7 mk 111 so thankyou for this review as i want perfection in my videos not focus issues. looks like the m50 is still top of the list unless anyone can suggest better. Great video and thanx. #chefstravels
Hey! Yes M50 is where it's at, OR the Mark II for portability. I have a video comparing the two if you'd like to see. It's too bad that Canon hasn't made something better yet ua-cam.com/video/Ifbki4VSQZQ/v-deo.html
Auto focus is crutial for vlogging videos. If AF isnt there then it doesnt help the video much. With that said why is the Mark III "UA-cam certified"?
Here's a video Sean made on Vloging Cameras. You might like it. ua-cam.com/video/2HXuLIUn9ls/v-deo.html
Oh awesome! I didn't see that one. Thanks Monkeyrock!
I dont care about the damn camera, but I do have a comment... !! Your husband is sooo lucky !!
Another review the focus was fixed.. due to the update in the firmware. Plus this has 4K and a better mic.
Hallo,
Which camera is good for make-up
tutorials? G7x ii or M50?
Thank u
Either one! Especially if the camera is on a tripod and you're using good lighting. The M50 would give you the advantage of better audio though..
DAT FUZZ
It still doesn't auto focus at all properly
