It's 2024. Whenever I listen to this, it brings me back to 1999. A troubled 17 y/o with a very uncertain future. A 17 y/o who just wants to get away from everything to get my peace of mind. Brings back a lot of bittersweet memories to be honest. The line "If I could ask God just one question, why aren't You here with me tonight" still hits me so strong as if it were yesterday. Until I have moved on, I will always have this song to remind me of everything.
I think we are ALL troubled at 17. That's what I got from all my friends, back in the 70s, anyway. Today, at 64, life is so good, in some ways, in may ways, way better than back then. ;)
One of the most underrated songs ever...if you've had your heart broken 💔 you could really relate to this song. If you don't feel anything from this song, you must be dead from the neck up or never experienced love before. It's a pity that this group only stayed together for such a short time. Gregg Alexander truly brings this song to the heart....just wish this song receives more accolades for it's message. Thank you New Radicals for delivering a song that speaks for millions.

To anyone claiming one hit wonder: please go listen to the entire album. The whole thing is a gem. Shame they didn’t want to make more music as a band. The album is still a favorite of mine after all these years.
I mean, technically they were a one-hit wonder. This song went nowhere on the charts and the album, while f*cking amazing (probably my favorite of all time to be honest), didn't generate any more singles after this one.
I totally agree with you, I brought the album back in 99 and I still have it and it still plays, one of the best albums i every brought, gregg Alexander went into writing and producing after, if he continued new radicals could of had at least 5 more major hits he wrote 3 for Ronan Keating including life is a rollercoaster and inner smile for Texes and the game of life for Santana a Grammy winner
they got tired doing tours round the clock with just few hours of sleep. They've said that's the reason why he always wear that hat.. to hide his lack of enthusiasm that he used to have.
I heard "get what you give" over and over on the radio.....it was the only song I knew of theirs for well over a decade. Picked the full album up at a thrift shop around 2010 and was absolutely blown away at just how amazing it was! Such a solid album from beginning to end! Really glad that I finally gave it a chance!

I really relate to this song. 2 years have passed and I still can't forget her. I still go to the places we love to hangout, still do the things that make us happy, and listen to the music we both love. The difference is I do it all alone now.
I was you many years ago. Have you reached out? My husband ( was just my BF at that time) broke up with me. I was pregnant, I lost our son when he was 6 weeks old and he came back 2 years later on his knees just talking to me. Asked me how I was doing. I was shocked, but still so in love with him, yet so angry. I'm so glad I left that anger behind. We've been happily married for 24 years and together 26. I know what it is to be loved in this world. I'm so happy & content I feel guilty. All it takes sometimes is just a simple " How are you?" Good luck. I wish you well.
Every few months I search for this song because it is so good. I’m leaving this comment so I can reply to myself every time I return to this video. To my future self, it’s going to get better and nothing is permanent.
(LYRICS) Ninety miles outside Chicago Can't stop driving I don't know why So many questions, I need an answer Two years later you're still on my mind Whatever happened to Amelia Earhart? Who holds the stars up in the sky? Is true love just once in a lifetime? Did the captain of the Titanic cry? Oh Someday we'll know if love can move a mountain Someday we'll know why the sky is blue Someday we'll know why I wasn't meant for you Does anybody know the way to Atlantis? Or what the wind says when she cries? I'm speeding by the place that I met you For the ninety-seventh time, tonight Someday we'll know if love can move a mountain Someday we'll know why the sky is blue Someday we'll know why I wasn't meant for you Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Someday we'll know why Samson loved Delilah? One day I'll go dancing on the moon Someday you'll know that I was the one for you Ow! Open up the world I bought a ticket to the end of the rainbow Watched the stars crash in the sea If I can ask God just one question Why aren't you here with me tonight? Someday we'll know if love can move a mountain Someday we'll know why the sky is blue Someday we'll know why I wasn't meant for you Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Someday we'll know why Samson loved Delilah? One day I'll go dancing on the moon Someday you'll know that I was the one for you
I remember waking up early when I was in high school in the morning hearing my dads alarm clock play this. This and Sawyer Browns this night wont last forever. Only to be that young again. I had my whole life ahead of me.
I don't think so. He's had a lot of success as a producer. He's won a Grammy and was also up for an Oscar. That's what he wanted, to make music even if other artists played his part. Made a living from it, and is not on the spotlight. You should be happy for him.
zimzimzalabim I think you misunderstood my meaning...♥️ For me I feel the public is not aware of what he has accomplished and all of the beautiful songs he had written... To me, that is underrated ♥️♥️💚
I’m in my 60’s & feel the same as you. Enjoy every single moment. Life goes by so quickly. I don’t know where the time went? It doesn’t seem possible! Just crazy! 😥💔
Same age than you (even counting the year after reesponse lol) And didn't hear this song after it came out. Really. Totally forgot about it But tonight i watched this cheesy movie and it was in the soundtrack and i looked for it here :) I'm gonna listen some more of this band to try to find other forgotten songs! 90' was the best times to be a teen Cheers
The nostalgia feels like a flood rushing through my chest. I want to be happy but feels sad at the same time . Those who lived in the 90s as kid can relate.
"Someday I will know, why I wasn't meant for you.. " What a deep lyrics there.. I wish now days music will have more deep and meaning full lyrics, instead showing off their beautiful body and face..
+Willy The Wizard holy shit, why does EVERY SINGLE FUCKING MUSIC VIDEO of 90's have these people complaining about how today's music is shallow and bullshit???
The year of 1999, when I was 17, I was depressed, worn out and lost... this song came to my rescue for a heart that no longer beat as before (it was out of tune with the torment I was going through), and little by little I was finding a purpose in life, that pushed me and made me overcome all the pain that consumed me for higher flights... I finally found myself, I took the reins of life and with the help of self-knowledge is helping me overcome the battles of day-to-day life...

Estou aqui ouvindo essa musica linda
estav tentando achar o nome desta música hahaha sou apaixonada😍 do melhor filme a melhor música 🎶
A década de 90 me marcou. Foi minha infância/começo da adolescência.
I forgot how great their whole Album was...thanks for sharing this Musical Gem !!!
This scene on A Walk To Remember was everything
Um minuto de silêncio pra músicas como essa que continuam perfeitas mesmo com o passar dos anos. Atemporal♥️
Essa música tocou no filme favorito da minha ex

Perfeito.

Love this song! Thank God for "A Walk to Remember"
la he visto como 20 veces y siempr eme hace derramar unas lagrimas :(
Every few months I search for this song because it is so good. I’m leaving this comment so I can reply to myself every time I return to this video. To my future self, it’s going to get better and nothing is permanent.
Hey this your future self....Hang in there my friend. Don't stop trying. Jesus loves you.
@@mountaindew7190 Jesus is Lord. 🙏
We need to repeat those words over and over: it’s going to get better

(LYRICS)
Ninety miles outside Chicago
Can't stop driving I don't know why
So many questions, I need an answer
Two years later you're still on my mind
Whatever happened to Amelia Earhart?
Who holds the stars up in the sky?
Is true love just once in a lifetime?
Did the captain of the Titanic cry? Oh
Someday we'll know if love can move a mountain
Someday we'll know why the sky is blue
Someday we'll know why I wasn't meant for you
Does anybody know the way to Atlantis?
Or what the wind says when she cries?
I'm speeding by the place that I met you
For the ninety-seventh time, tonight
Someday we'll know if love can move a mountain
Someday we'll know why the sky is blue
Someday we'll know why I wasn't meant for you
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Someday we'll know why Samson loved Delilah?
One day I'll go dancing on the moon
Someday you'll know that I was the one for you
Ow!
Open up the world
I bought a ticket to the end of the rainbow
Watched the stars crash in the sea
If I can ask God just one question
Why aren't you here with me tonight?
Someday we'll know if love can move a mountain
Someday we'll know why the sky is blue
Someday we'll know why I wasn't meant for you
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Someday we'll know why Samson loved Delilah?
One day I'll go dancing on the moon
Someday you'll know that I was the one for you
✌🏽🎅🏽🇧🇷😎
I remember waking up early when I was in high school in the morning hearing my dads alarm clock play this. This and Sawyer Browns this night wont last forever. Only to be that young again. I had my whole life ahead of me.
The beat gets me. It sends this wave that gently rocks your soul.
zeitgeist
I was 30yrs old when this song came out and here iam 55yrs old still play this song and still give me chill effect
Same age and same feeling ✌🏽
Same boat as you , just a few years difference in age. What a great band.
It still feels like this song was just last week. A quarter of the century passed by like wft is happening here, its amazing we’re still alive now.
Lies again? Know Everybody Gym Battery
The most under rated artist of our time.
Absolutely!!!
Jason Reid absolutely true♥️♥️♥️
I don't think so. He's had a lot of success as a producer. He's won a Grammy and was also up for an Oscar. That's what he wanted, to make music even if other artists played his part. Made a living from it, and is not on the spotlight. You should be happy for him.
zimzimzalabim I think you misunderstood my meaning...♥️
For me I feel the public is not aware of what he has accomplished and all of the beautiful songs he had written...
To me, that is underrated ♥️♥️💚
Damn true....he is a lyrical legend.
Im 49 yrs.old still listening to this song,, brings back memories ❤️❤️❤️that will not be erased and forgotten 🍻🍻🍻🎉🎉🎉
Oh my god. Why this song aint most famous in the universe? Its amazing!
This came out in 1998. 24 years later, it is 2022 and I am hearing this song for the first time. This song helped me.

I’m in my 60’s & feel the same as you. Enjoy every single moment. Life goes by so quickly. I don’t know where the time went? It doesn’t seem possible! Just crazy! 😥💔
I'm 18 then, now 43 still love this song.

Same age than you (even counting the year after reesponse lol)
And didn't hear this song after it came out. Really. Totally forgot about it
But tonight i watched this cheesy movie and it was in the soundtrack and i looked for it here :)

90' was the best times to be a teen
Cheers
I was a teenager when this song became a hit. Only today, years later, did I realize the beauty of his lyrics.
The nostalgia feels like a flood rushing through my chest. I want to be happy but feels sad at the same time . Those who lived in the 90s as kid can relate.
Taga Cale this got me dancin’ while cryi’n 😂

Stay present. The future is a thought. The past exists only in memory. Only the present exists.
I always keep coming back to this song. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of a certain someone. That's why this song is so great.
One of the most underrated bands ever.
"Someday I will know, why I wasn't meant for you.. "
What a deep lyrics there.. I wish now days music will have more deep and meaning full lyrics, instead showing off their beautiful body and face..
+Willy Juisan have you heard of twenty one pilots? they are just as meaningful.
+Willy The Wizard holy shit, why does EVERY SINGLE FUCKING MUSIC VIDEO of 90's have these people complaining about how today's music is shallow and bullshit???
+Francisco Farias - Because it is... :)
Someday we'll know! Ha ha couldn't resist
I love you. You matter. Your life makes a difference. Thank you for your story
I WAS NINE YEARS OLD AND FEELIN EVERY BIT OF 90SMUSIC
This is one of those songs that needs to be left on repeat while contemplating life.
Nostalgia!! Bons tempos!🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

Uma brasileira no canal do New Radicals ... SHOW!!!!
Outra idade, outra cidade, outro eu e outro mundo
i love you!!
one the best albums to end the end 20th century
I've had it for 20 years and it still plays one of the best albums I ever brought

Me too in 24.Daughter was raised listening to this album and 2 weeks ago shared a stage with Joe Walsh while he was in Hawkes Bay, she sang while he played guitar.Music can change lives and take you to magical places.

2024, still got that goosebumps listening to this song.. “Some day we’ll know that i was the one for you” it’s either hope, prayers, or simply just a regret..
This song has a special space on my memories
Gregg and Danielle are superb songwriters... The Radicals put out that one album and said ok that was fun... now onto something new.
_The 90s/2000s were incredible, a lot of good bands emerging... I miss those times..._
He is a genius songwriter ❤
*He wrote lost stars for maroon 5 and so many other great songs!* Such a talented dude. love his music 🎧 never gets old
Love being a pop star bored him so he just walked away at the peak of the New Radicals fame... now he just makes hits for others. Cool asf.
I love Maroon 5 but, I knew Adam Levine didn't write that song! It was too good.
Damn never knew it.. Now i know the signature behind that song....
He didn't write for maroon five, he wrote it for begin again.
And got an Oscar nomination for it.
That moment when you want to cry just because, and you come looking for this particular song. 2018
This is pure gold, damn it! ♥
yup
A deeply underrated gem from this band! How was this masterpiece not a huge hit for them?
Because right after it came out he broke up the band because he hated touring and interviews. :(
