I'm a 44 year old black man (that just loves music). I grew up a dreamer. I used to sit around at my part time job during my first year in college at, Winn-Dixie in SC, and this song came on over the little radio they had. After thinking I would never find her, I ended up meeting my wife. This song takes me back, but to more than just that moment. Good times the 90's were.

It's the fact that it's about youthful romance (youthful as signified by "you father's map", indicating they are still probably teens); combined with the nature imagery (milky twilight, bearded barley, trail, moonlit floor, silver moon sparkling, treehouse and hanging tire would be outside and likely in the woods), which is romantic, and suggests youthtful connection to nature because young people spend more time than adults in those outside, natural settings, plus, the connection to nature suggests a more innocent time of man, when there was less technology, and innocent sexuality (just kissing, open hand).

Thank you for the music that got us through our college senior project.

The year 1998, just moved to the US / Chicago, working at a restaurant 16 hours a day 7 days a week, listening to B96 radio, the song played countless times during the day, day after day, got stuck in my head for 25 years. Every time I listen to it feels traveling in a time capsule to the young me dreaming in Chicago.
I have had this song 'stuck' somewhere in my head, for a long time. Whenever I listen to it, another layer- ''unfolds''. É uma das poucas músicas que faz despertar a essência de vida, as vezes você não tá num dia tão bom, várias coisas que nos atordoa diariamente, aí vem e ouve essa canção e parece que renova as energias, amo essa música desde sempre
This song reminds me of a cold evening outing in my old Volvo with my close buddies searching places to eat and chill. We would drive endlessly throughout the city searching for coffee and food with no care in the world. The five of us would drink and chat all through the night until the sun comes out! Funny about memories and nostalgia... just a simple song would trigger those deep wonderful moments in your life, i would trade anything just to be a teenager again in late 90s

This song blew up when I was a high school senior. It reminds me of when I had keep putting off going to my nearest theater to see She's All That because my paternal grandmother kept having me work with one of my uncles at a fish fry at the last minute for a few weeks.
Happily married lol you had to add that lol. I got kids, regret having them, regret getting married too soon. I stopped pretending being happy with all that once they grew older.
When I was a kid, I used to imagine myself as the main character in a romance movie and created my own scenario and Kiss Me was the theme song 😆 Oh I miss those days
I guess you've seen the film 'She's All That' for which this song is the back drop? The stars--Freddy Prinze and Rachel Leigh Cooke--can be seen in this video.
The 80s and the 90s were a better time. A cultural treasure trove compared to the constant dumpster fire of today. I really feel bad for kids that have to grow up in the cultural wasteland of 2021. If the modern generation had anything useful to say, they wouldn't constantly be trying to recapture the magic of the past, and constantly failing miserably.

I remember first hearing this on the radio as a college sophomore in the early fall of 1998. I was driving my car and the windows were partially rolled down. There was a slightly chilly breeze. It's weird that I remember the moment so vividly.
An unabashedly feminine and sweet song for a change. I can't rightly say just how this lovely song managed to slip through the cracks in times like these --- very well done indeed !!!
Feminine and sweet yes. However, this was released in 1997 during the Clinton years. So it was pre-9/11, pre-Iraq invasion/WMD fraud, pre-Afghanistan, pre-2008 Crash, pre-Covid 19 and variants, pre-Capitol invasion, etc. etc.

Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight

Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon's sparkling
So, kiss me
Kiss me down by the broken tree house
Swing me upon its hanging tire
Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat
We'll take the trail marked on your father's map
Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand

Don’t Worry. You’re not the only one listening this masterpiece today.

Nice!
Love it
You're so kind. Thanks
That's right!!
I am a metal fan but these were the kind of songs I listen to when I became sensitive....I still do. Jesus! I wish there were a time machine to go back to the wonderful 90s. I miss them a lot.
The last true decade, what a time to be alive ❤
There won't be another decade like the 90s!

I love this song!! So effortlessly sung and such a natural rocky melody!!
My grandmothers favorite song, I was only a little kid, she passed in 2010 of breast cancer, rip nana I know Jesus must be wonderful
I believe that your mom is in a better place now 🙂
One of the great songs of the 90s. Beautiful rhythms and rhymes - such a happy song
I was 13 years old when this song came out and I can remember it like it was yesterday. The 1990s were so fantastic for music and there was so much of it that we had no idea how good we had it.
I’m 12 years old now, but I love 90s and 00s music
Old is gold
@@CinderTail You have great taste in music! When you get a bit older you may start hearing the quality of certain 80s, 70s, and 60s music too. But that is a story for another day!
This song is like a time machine which takes every one back to 90's where most of us had their best beautiful moments , special memories of specific time. This special song reunites us with feeling of love for each other. This song is magical 😍😘☺🍷

One of those gorgeous, whimsical songs that follows you through life and is always a pleasure to return to when you need to smile... x
"There she goes" is one of my favorite songs ever.
Yes, There She Goes is an beautiful song about the FEMININE dominating the mind~heart ... ....
Shout out to all the guys who secretly love this song 😀

Why be secret about it? The song is phenomenal and absolutely timeless.
@Chris I'm agree for that
Heck I sing it out loud were ever I am, at work or in the car or stores don't care great song to sing to.
Ahhh 90’s best era for music and life in general. Times were so simple back then.
One of the sweetest, purest pop songs ever made.
Which is ironic because it is pretty much purely a rock song.

Such a beautiful song, it takes me back to 98/99 and i was barely a little kid back then!
It makes me remember all those good things in life!!

Miss this kind of music videos no nudity,no booty bounces no bad words just pure talent this is the pure music.

Great memories! High school grade 9 and 10 memories playing this song in the radio at least once a day. I didnt have a cd player until grade 11, so my casette radio was all i had for music, and Chum and Mix 99.9 were the main 2 stations for my daily dose of 90s hits.
Looking forward to your show on December 15, 2024 at The Troubadour. Been a fan since 1998, and this will be my first time seeing you live.

It was April 2004.
I woke up really early in a cold and grey Saturday just to use the internet (dial connection).
Before turning the PC on I decided to have some hot chocolate and watch MTV.
It was playing REM - It's The End of The World As We Know It, the videoclip brought me so much joy.
I was 10 back then.
The next song was Kiss Me, I fell in love with the song without knowing what love was.
Always have hope things will get better 🙏❤may peace be with you
Sixpence None the Richer
Kiss me out of the bearded barley
Nightly, beside the green, green grass
Swing, swing, swing the spinning step
You'll wear those shoes and I will wear that dress
Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band, and make the fireflies dance
Silvermoon's sparkling
So kiss me
Kiss me down by the broken tree house
Swing me, upon its hanging tire
Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat
We'll take the trail marked on your father's map
Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band, and make the fireflies dance
Silvermoon's sparkling
So kiss me
Kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band, and make the fireflies dance
Silvermoon's sparkling
So kiss me

I remember first hearing this on the radio as a college sophomore in the early fall of 1998. I was driving my car and the windows were partially rolled down. There was a slightly chilly breeze. It's weird that I remember the moment so vividly.
i really felt the breeze all the way up to here.
Here's to college days in the 90s! ☕
good bless you broh
An unabashedly feminine and sweet song for a change. I can't rightly say just how this lovely song managed to slip through the cracks in times like these --- very well done indeed !!!
Feminine and sweet yes. However, this was released in 1997 during the Clinton years. So it was pre-9/11, pre-Iraq invasion/WMD fraud, pre-Afghanistan, pre-2008 Crash, pre-Covid 19 and variants, pre-Capitol invasion, etc. etc.
I'm surprised this song isn't as popular as I thought, love this song so much!
Pure beauty. Group and the song. Miss them days ❤
