Shadoof, well pole or sweep for small farm irrigation

This one minute videeo shows how an irrigation device for small farming works. In Arabic called a shaduf or shadoof, in English a well pole or a sweep. Demotech made this shaduf in The Gambia in less then an afternoon to the great appriciation of the women who had to water their plantbed in this shared garden. Depth of well: about 6 meter.

Typical Africa ...... 2 people doing the work ... and 4 people standing aside doing nothing. instead they could have installed a second shadoof and doubled the efficiency.
