I love most of the house, but as I said in my previous comment the streets are an eyesore and the mere fact that you allowed someone to build a SHACK doesn’t bode well, another thing that was shocking was the rusty zinc fence we saw at one of the houses, one of the things that I notice is how city allowed residents to grow their bushes high which is unsafe, I’m pretty sure those vacant lots belong to somebody, so, even though there is no structure built on those lots of lands they should cut those bushes for the safety of others who live in those communities and I also doesn’t know what kind of wildlife that are native to Jamaica that can be a danger to human, such as snakes, coyote, or other dangerous vermin that may have live in those bushes. but the country that I live you would have to cut your grass and shrubs.
Hi Madge & Tom!! Love this video. You showed my mother’s house which made me smile. The White House with the red roof belonged to my aunt, it used to be a BNB called Bluemah Palace. She passed some years ago & was sold after my uncle passed. Also, thanks for putting the web address of Cerulean Bay….that belongs to my cousin & his wife. It’s a really beautiful place. For the people who commented earlier….non of those houses are owned by scammers or thieves. They’re owned by people like my mom, aunt & cousin who migrated to the US, Canada or England years ago. They saved their monies, bought the land and took their time building the homes to retire to. Also….we have argued, complained & fought for new roads only to be ignored. Things are only done in “important” neighborhoods or during election time. 🤷🏾♀️

Happy Sabbath family ❤😊! Those homes look like medieval castle. St.Thomas has so much Ackee and mangoes.Too much house to live in😂.Those homes can withstand any hurricane. Strong! Big homes make the smaller ones look like chicken coop😊😂😅😮😢!
I am also from St. Thomas. I lived in Lyssons, 84 Lyssons Rd. I left Jamaica as a 12yrs old. It would be interesting to see what it is like now. It was quite a beautiful place to live. I haven't returned there. So when you mentioned Prospect, I have been there has a child. Continue your exploring! 😊😊
Ahh, fellow St. Thomas'er! How wonderful to hear your connect with our little mention of Prospect. Surely, Lyssons would have changed a lot, but the beauty of our island never fades. We'll continue to bring you the familiar sights and the new changes through our explorations. Big up yourself and blessings for sticking with us in this journey!
Tom you are funny 😊, what a brite house, then you rub your eyes, love it. That mansion is so beautiful, this is so beautiful. Thanks Madge and Tom, big up you self👍🏽👍🏽💕
Love how you guys turn the camera right on the houses so we can see them first hand some bloggers just keep the camera straight ahead and don’t turn it to the houses 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️
Lost of shrubs, very good for rain. Just need paved roads. I guess if enough people write to the politicians, paved roads among other things can get done.
I don’t expect to see good roads throughout Jamaica in my lifetime. At least they’ve been working to improve the main highway these days. Too much road money was nyammed up over the years so there is a lot of money needed to do real work now. We appreciate your comment. Bless up! ❤️🇯🇲❤️
Good evening Madge and Tom beautiful homes seems like very nice areas, just passed through St.Thomas some years ago will be on my list next year, by the way Tom the Sargent name is Carter 😂,blessings to you both.🇯🇲🇯🇲
👍👍👍👍👍 I knew somebody would remember the sarge’s name. Thank you for remembering! That was a great TV show. Big up yourself and bless up yourself. ❤️🇯🇲❤️
Thank you both for this! I have gone back to watch your earlier vlogs. I must admit I miss hearing Madge talk. I like to hear her laugh and comment about how JA districts have changed in recent years. Enjoy your weekend 🎉
Big up for the love and support! Madge will definitely be making more appearances-trust us, you’ll be hearing her laugh and thoughts again soon. Stay tuned and enjoy your weekend too. Bless up!
Here’s the side story: We called and talked to Tom’s mom in foreign on Thanksgiving Day. We asked her if she has UA-cam on her TV and she said she does, but never watches UA-cam. We left it at that. We got a kick out of your comment. Bless up yourself. ❤️🇯🇲❤️
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! We're thrilled that St Thomas is blossoming and becoming a gem in its own right. It's amazing to see how places evolve and reveal their beauty. Big up yourself!
All those houses 🏘 are built by hard working Jamaican overseas and in Jamaica. U all don't believe that ppl go to bank and get loans plus ppl returns home and built
I live in prospect and all those homes are built by returning residents. And ppl living there.the first white house that u and ur wife was talking about is mr.linval that own the hardware store. I love ur blogs any way 💓 always fun to watch
So glad you enjoyed the tour of the homes, kudos! We agree about the roads, enhancing them would certainly complement the beauty of this location. Ready and looking forward to sharing more scenic luxury with you! Big up yourself.

Hello Tom and Madge, I think those places with their imagines on their walls or fence are their god's or what they're told to do, lots get their riches from them.
Thanks for your keen observation! It's mostly local folks and some returning residents breathing new life into St Thomas. The vibrant energy comes from within the community. Big up yourself!
Hi there! We appreciate your curiosity. We're based in eastern St Thomas, Jamaica, residing in a beautiful, rural area. Nature's bounty is our backyard. Bless up yourself for the interest! 🏞️
Some of those homes they are building in Jamaica are way too big. I wonder if the sewage system and wastewater treatment plants on the Island can handle it.
You raise a really interesting point about the development in Jamaica and its impact on infrastructure, like sewage systems and wastewater treatment. As the island embraces more expansive homes and potentially increased tourism, it's crucial for development to be sustainable and for infrastructure to keep pace with growth. These concerns are important for preserving the beauty and health of Jamaica's natural resources. It's a conversation worth having, and perhaps highlighting these topics can encourage more awareness and action towards sustainable development. Thanks for bringing this up and sparking an important discussion!
Politics is nasty. Last election one JLP politician created quite a stir when he reportedly said no PNP bwoy nah get no money (paraphrasing) because a PNP (mp or counselor I believe) won in the JLP district and needed money authorized to build roads. It’s like that all over the country.😊😊
Big up for your feedback! We appreciate your love for the show. Totally understand your point about Madge being cut off. It's noted and we'll work on balancing the conversations in future videos. Bless up!
its less about taxes, and has more to do with property values, each one of those lots looked like 3/4 acre, and that would be over 1 million US in Kingston and the more uptown you get, that same lot would cost much more above that 1 million US mark, while in St Thomas before the highway, that lot would be 250,000 to 500,000 Jamaican dollars, a major difference.

Hey Madge, it’s an American saying. “Hey Ma” etc, etc. we say it all the time in America. Why does the Town municipality refuses to provide decent roads for their residents? What do they do with tax payer’s money? If I were a resident there I would have to speak up, there should be a watch dog committee set up by residents to monitor politicians who are sleeping on their job, if they doesn’t do their job efficiently one term would be enough. You look at some beautiful houses but the streets are an eyesore, you have to drive at a crawling pace to avoid damaging your engine block and your wheels. I like this video except for the STREETS and that BLUE SHACK that looks like an eyesore, why would they allowed someone to build a SHACK in such a beautiful neighborhood is beyond pale.

Im guessing the taxes are lower in St Thomas- therefore a bigger house is more affordable.
its less about taxes, and has more to do with property values, each one of those lots looked like 3/4 acre, and that would be over 1 million US in Kingston and the more uptown you get, that same lot would cost much more above that 1 million US mark, while in St Thomas before the highway, that lot would be 250,000 to 500,000 Jamaican dollars, a major difference.
