A fellow rider suggested adding medium thread locker to the main pivot bolt (the one I struggled to remove). I can see how it could come loose over time, so that seems like good advice.

I have a 2022 xt250, and already bent great shift lever. Will this gear shift lever still fit exactly on my 2022?

It should fit. They haven't changed the xt250 in decades.
