    Finally a place where I can find real life eco driving numbers. It's the one thing I take pride in with my driving, my teachers never talked about eco-driving to me even though it was a topic they were suppose to bring up, so I asked why. They just shrugged and said I was already driving eco-friendly enough that there was no point in bringing up the topic.
    Hoping to see a video about the Toyota Corolla Cross in the future from you!

    Glad you’ve done this vehicle. Considering it as my next car. Currently I drive a Honda idtec 1.6 diesel (on all season tyres) at moment. My lowest has been 47 mpg (UK) with a overall average currently at 63.68 after 34000 miles. My all time best was 83.78 mpg (on original Michelin fuel saver tyres). I only use BP ultimate diesel and she gets waxed weather permitting before a long trip. (I have no idea if this helps but feels like silk after waxed).

      In terms of efficiency Toyota is really the benchmark at the moment. If you drive it as you obviously drive your Honda you easily beat my numbers :)

      Until 2017 I used to run the same Honda car, again with Michelin energy savers, and the average was almost exactly the same - 4.43l/100Km over 4 1/2 years. The main feature is that it was a good cruiser, with low aerodynamic drag - but not so good at short urban journeys.
      Then I replaced it with the previous Toyota Yaris hybrid with the 4 cylinder 1.5, which is almost the other way round - pretty much like the new Yaris Cross. The one I run is on Continental premium 2 tyres, which are not the best for rolling resistance. My experience of it is in line with the one demonstrated here, though. I think the new one is probably better, with a larger traction battery and motor - there are quite a few downhill sections on which the battery becomes full and thus engine braking is required, e.g.

    The open-road and city combined is a fantastic result. If u can choose your route and drive in same clever way Mr Ecodriver do, the overall would be close to 3,0 l or even below, start with the nr "2" !? fantastic!

    Very informative, as usual. I think this route is becoming an international standard, and quite a lot of manufacturers should test their vehicles in accordance with Your method. When You get a chance, please test the KIA Sportage MHEV. I hear it can do 4.5L/100km...But, I will not believe it until You confirm it.😉

    I enjoy all your videos, you have the best fuel economy videos in all of youtube in my opinion. Toyota does deliver when it comes to miles per gallon. Still waiting for your review of the Rav 4 Prime. What grade of petrol are your using? Here in the U.S. regular is 87 octane, which I use for both our 2016 Chevrolet Volt and 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid / All wheel drive.

    • @ecodriver1746
      @ecodriver1746  2 роки тому +4

      Thank you! RAV4 Prime should be here soon, I heard end of March will be deliveries.
      In Europe you basically only get either 95 octane or to a lesser extent 97. With the Atkinson-Engines in Toyota Hybrids a low octane petrol is fine

    Great video. If you know how to drive that car the consumption is phenomenal. I have an old 2016 Yaris hybrid and I can get great consumption around 60mpg during summer and 50 mpg during winter where my neighbour has a large fiat 500( not the most efficient but you get the picture) and gets 25 mpg. Oddly enough I got my best consumption in the motorway 64.4 mpg so yes hybrids are also good there. Amazing video again

    Hi, I recently got my new Yaris cross (Not AWD), drove about 300 km, but the best consumption I get is about 6l /100km, I try to drive as gently as possible, I watched this video 3 times and copied everything you did, but I can not reduce the consumption, I don't know how to acheive below 4%. Is it because the car is new? or because of the winter tires? The benzin type I put or just my driving style. Thank you.

    • @ecodriver1746
      @ecodriver1746  2 роки тому +2

      normally not, as it makes no difference for Regen (whether you use B or the brake-pedal). On a downhill like this with some flat bits in between I coast most of the time, so it's more comfortable to not use B. Also, in B the petrol-engine often kicks in to assist with braking, which isn't needed here.
