Lol I did this as a kid. Mine was slightly different, I used spells alot. Glad to see this, really takes me back.
If you used spells then it most probably invalidates the run..this is like me saying:il play fist only but then il abuse soul steal and tetra spirit.

HAHA, I have to say. I never thought I'd see DB die in SotN. He DID make it to the end and after that heart refresh, he just seemed to disappear then come back in right at the save point up beyond the clock! So weird. That was very lucky. 🤣

I’ve wanted to see this ever since I grew up a bit and understood the rpg elements of the game. Knowing I used red rust for a couple years never getting anywhere I’m curious how far a pro would work.
Red rust curses doppelgänger just as much as it curses alucard for using it. Being face to face with him saying “yeah! Sucks don’t it” while he fails over and over 🤣

I never heard DB say there wouldn't be any glitches and he didn't hurt any enemies without Red Rust once he obtained it. so technically he didn't break any rules.
This was unbelievably epic and based.
Maybe there could be a randomizer set where you start with red rust and all your transformations do 0 damage. That way you can still speed run through rooms but without killing things in transformations. Some speedrunners probably could fill in what more would be necessary in the setup to not make it just a pain to run this mode.

Red rust forces your u to actually fight the bosses rather than overwhelm them. This it is based.

So, is dark metamorphosis allowed in a run like this? It doesn't do any actual damage. Only adds a healing effect if you're hit by the blood splatter. Seems like it would be useful.

Red Rust is not the worst weapon in the game, that honor belongs to the Tyrfing and it’s -30 atk and dark element.

Sword of dawn run? Only summons do damage.
That would be really miserable. The summons damage don't stack. Toward the end of the game the skeletons, archers and wizards only do 1 damage each. It also uses up a great deal of magic if you keep spamming the summons spell. The sword itself isn't that bad though. Yeah, the swing speed is really slow but the damage and hitbox itself isn't half bad in a game like sotn you can do way worse.
Fine, monster vial speed run. All vials can be used.
