I’m not sure who the diving force is behind the making of these videos, but I want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to whoever it is! I subbed halfway through the very first video of his that I watched, and that was a long time ago! It truly relaxes and warms my heart to see him passing along his wisdom and knowledge to his grandchildren (great grandchildren?), and I know he values the opportunity to teach them! But I wonder if he understands how many thousands of people he’s teaching all over the world! Enjoy every minute you have with him, because time is an unknown commodity! I love this man, and I just hope that the individual behind these videos reads this! Thank you!

The rope is made of fiber products, which were discarded by others, and then Grandpa Amu picked it up and made it into a rope using the previous production method. A lot of rope can be made from this roll of material.

Trash to treasure again, this is the recycling of "trash" into a useable product. Once again Grandpa Amu shows us that almost all things can be reused and don't have to become garbage. Thanks Grandpa Amu for sharing your thoughts and wisdom with us.
Thank you Grandpa Amu. I just found your channel and you are an inspiration to me, one who has lost his way in life. This new year will be better. I am only 55 years olds, 37 years as a machinist. I can make anything on manual machines. No computers for me. This last decade has been bad for me. Thank you so much for your videos and inspiring me to work better at my on craft. You are truly an artist and master in your craft.
Не всё есть в магазине. Когда-то подобное тоже делали, из двух, или трёх покупных верёвок свивали одну более прочную. Технология та же, но с отличием, по ней можно более длинную целую верёвку свить в ограниченном пространстве.
That struck a chord. I'm a rigger by trade. We make rope in a similar fashion. It surprises me that a Master Carpenter would have rope making skills. This gentleman is a polymath. His joinery is magic!

It’s more amusing to me to that this ancient form of fabrication they had so technology like steel bolts with nuts and rolled fibers like that ? Can we get a video of the master showing us how his great great great masters managed there craft ? Thanks
Many of the antique tractor shows I attend have versions of those same tools there, and they show kids, and let the kids there make their own lengths of rope to take home. SR
Marvelous...Un. Amu. Sometimes I wonder how could a man obtained so many practical knowledge s Can he share a little how he have such knowledge.? Maybe a biography ....Thanky for showing. Never would have know.
Is this in China? Twisting from both ends. Very clever! Twisting from ONLY one end makes the rope unstable. Twisting each component line in the opposite direction tightens the rope automatically.
Amu could easily live in Robinson Crusoe’s island for long times. This is a good idea if you want to make your own rope. If he starts selling these, I’ll buy one.
I used to make ropes using this method and green hide( untanned cow hide). Make a circular cut from the centre of the hide and cut a strip about 12mm wide, varying with the hide thickness to create a single strand, divide it into 3 equal lengths and use the same method to make a rope
Amazing!!! fascinating and inspiring. I would like to try this myself and wondered if anyone could tell me about the roll of what I'm assuming is hemp paper? and possibly where to get it from? Many thanks, love the channel xx
