What a great video. This is just what I wanted to see. We just finished camping at Balsam Mountain campground in Great Smokey Mountains NP. While the temperature was nice and cool and the campground was neatly kept, the campsites were so close together that I wasn't sure if it was my husband snoring or the guy in the next tent. I love how Gorges leaves room between each site. Subscribed. You do very nice videos.
Thank you for the very kind comment - and for subscribing! We stayed at Balsam Mountain campground earlier this year and a couple of other times in previous years. I should have done a video for it also. We had done a walk through on a previous stay noting the camp sites that were level and suitable for our van.
@@waterfallrich We do the same. It definitely helped me make the decision on choosing a site for our spur of the moment trip this weekend!! I will be sharing your video on several Airstream social media groups, so expect your likes and views to go up. Have a great day!
@@peterhines4071 Great - thank you! Hope you have a great time. The Rainbow Falls hike in the park is excellent. That waterfall and Turtleback Falls just above Rainbow Falls were the first waterfalls I had ever been to when I first visited the area back in 1998. I was hooked and moved here in 2003 to be closer to the action.
Great informational video, thank you, we were just up there and hiked Rainbow Falls, very clean park, we want to go back and spend more time camping etc So question, the tent sites have gravel as their base? I've never put a tent on gravel before, hmm!!
You are quite welcome! I wasn't paying attention to the fact that the tent sites had a gravel base. That is interesting. When we tent camped, we always put a tarp down first and had a fold up queen size mattress bed we used so we weren't sleeping on the ground. We love this area. There's so much to see and do.
Thanks for posting! I was trying to get some pics but this was much better. Hoping to go there next Summer. Did you get to look into any of the cabins?
This was the first night the campground was open and I think it was only announced the week before that it was opening. I thought there would be more people too. They've been working on the campground for a while now and there have been several delays. It's open during the winter, but the park is closed Christmas Day.
This is exactly how campground videos should be. It was a huge help in deciding which spot to book! Thank you for the great video!
You are very welcome - thanks for the kind comment!
Thanks for showing the campsites!

Awesome job...I shared this link in the description of a review we did. Thanks for the effort....we chose our spot based on what you showed here!
Thanks! Nice job on your video. You got a good site! Hope you enjoyed your stay in this beautiful area.
@@waterfallrich Thank you, it was awesome!
Your video is VERY helpful! Thank you!
Really well done video. Your assessment of each site addresses the questions that campers most want to know. Thanks!

Great walk through!!! Thanks for taking the time and sharing, very helpful.
Thanks! Glad it was helpful. We use other people's walk or drive throughs to plan our trips, so we wanted to return the favor.

You are quite welcome! I didn't get to see inside of the cabins, but they looked small.
Looks like nobody is there. Do they close it for a winter? Nice walkthrough.

Any chance you know if the picnic table is moveable? Just wonder if the tent pad includes those dimensions..
@@lb4831 That's a good question, but I don't know. Sorry. If you call the visitor center, they might know or find out for you 828-966-9099
