Great job and really appreciate seeing someones first attempt. I'm researching every video I can find before attempting my own block work. This has raised my confidence levels. Thank you.
To make it easier on you when grouting you can make the blocks into knockouts to make it easier to dump buckets in rather than the single cells. It would also be less mess.
can probably find someone to lay em for 5 or 6 a piece. for labor only and not there for fill i charge 3.50 a block wich is actually suuuper cheap. but again thats to pack em over to the work and install them
Excellent work! I tackled my first masonry project last year and it seems wayyyyy more intimidating than it actually is. It’s a far more crude process than some other trades. Grip strength is a must! I remember my hands being sore for a while after my first project
God bless you ! Been looking to find out how to cut these blocks for a few weeks and could not find the answer, now YT shows me this. Legend for showing this in your vid, not something you learn about every day !
Very impressive to see a guy work this fast incredible the speed of this labor will truly make America great again , The time lapse camera work was a good idea thanks 👍
Good work, much better than most on their first time. A couple tips: Avoid building corner leads or leads in general when possible. Just “spot” a block on each end to your chalk line, level/plumb and make sure they range by hooking up a line. Use a level across the top for first course while laying them to the line then just spot the ends and lay to the line for the remaining courses. Building leads with a level, unless you’re a vet, is a good way to create unnecessary issues in the wall.
Came out great. I would never use that low quality mortar but you made it work. I don’t think it’s the first time using mortar and trowel. Maybe first with blocks.
@@LordoftheCats usually the masonry supply places carry high quality better mixed options. Conproco has quality products, you have to research you’re area
Good job. Just one thing. When you lay down the mortar for the first course, dont put it on the trowel like laying a regular course. Sort of heap it on the board and cut a "sausage" off, and place the sausage down. Thats it. Dont play with it anymore or move it around.
Gracias amigo! Caregiving my mom, i will cinder block short walls at my front porch, then stucco it to match my home. We appreciate it. Tiene bonito dia.
Well I enjoyed the video. Work definitely looks professional. Video states you did the research so we don't have to. Could you provide instructions or a link to instructions? Can you provide a written tutorial or supply list and tips and tricks and the reasoning or why. Lot of time instructions are provided but then experiential tips and tricks are required to circumvent issues that arise due to variation. I just want to raise my cinder block wall 3 blocks higher. Trying to assess all the materials and equipment steps cost and time needed.
just gonna rebuild my old metal front gate with 10 ft masonry wall . Have most of the tools need the tripod laser level . Luckily for me the foundation is already done. Gonna use rebar and epoxy to attach the blocks to th existing old concrete. gracias
I appreciate the video. I'm now over 1,000 blocks on different projects in the last fours years and just went for it like you have. I too did a ton of research and watched every YT video I could find. Were you already in the trades or did you go out and buy STABILA set up right off? Keep putting up video.
Got my footers poured the day I am writing this and will dive right into it without any experience. Just ordered 200 blocks and 30 bags of pre ratioed mortar mix. I feel that I made a mistake in presetting my rebar verticals before they poured the concrete. Will probably have to cut some rebar; I hope not but most likely yes. Building my own small home. Lots of "first's times" are going to happen when I go through this.
can buy H shaped or "speed" blocks. otherwise usually you are only laying over 3 foot max rebar and you just cut bar and drop it in the cells you layed over the bars below
I hired a carpenter to build my bathroom and one bedroom but he didn't fill all the Brockholes.just wanted to know if this is how it's done or do we have to fix it again.pliz help
I guess the mistake is you don’t just epoxy your rebars into your footing. The rebar should have been buried at certain depth with the footing for better anchoring and strength.
On your next video it would be much more helpful to know what products you use, how much of each, and you didn't describe any of the steps you take, or using a plumb line, or setting the cement blocks in a staggering pattern, and how far apart. Your work looks good, but if you're making DIY videos, you have to give specific details of how much, how long, deep, footings, materials needed, etc..
Possibly some details like using an excess of cement between the blocks, as well as failing to put down sand on either side of the wall so falling concrete doesn't stick? 🤷🏼♀️ Those are things I've seen done very differently by professionals that regularly use this construction method. But those are relatively minor details, comparatively speaking.
Don’t believe everything you see on the internet this man ain’t lay that finished prouduct he’s cleaning off the concrete to stick the concrete blocks with concrete 🤦🏼🤷♂️

I agree! Thankfully this was a small wall, but I was feeling it
I felt the same way on my first masonry job. Now I’m doing entire buildings! Great work man 👍🏽👍🏽
sure
You could literally see the skills improving as time went on. AMAZING!
Right! Also my Confidence did as well. I started to feel more in control of it and it was kinda fun!
Make sure you use a waterproofing on the exterior of the block that coats down over your slab edge. Masonry units absorb moisture.
God bless you ! Been looking to find out how to cut these blocks for a few weeks and could not find the answer, now YT shows me this. Legend for showing this in your vid, not something you learn about every day !
Nice work. Only suggestion to make things easier is using a string line for each course. It makes things a bit faster.
Thank you, watching you gave me courage to try on my own.
Great video, trying this first time on my new build shed, neat and not too much talking, thanks!
It's really nice to see all of the little steps from start to finish. Thank you.
Excellent. A long straight edge metal bar would be very handy to quickly double check accuracy.
I have to do something similar coming up soon, and this made me feel much better about the project. Thank you for sharing and great job!
As a bricklayer for 36 plus years , have to say well done !
That’s rite my guy LEARNING AS YOU GO is a skill not a lot of people have anymore..GOOD WORK

for the first time, I think you done an excellent job.

Done better than many professionals

He definitely handled a trowel before, better mud would definitely make it easier
What would be a better quality mortar to use?

Great job! So clean and satisfying to watch!
For a first attempt and all the TLC you put in.. I gave you 90%😊
Fantastic work as always! Thanks for sharing this with us!
Thank you for the comment:)
Nice job!!! Placing mortar on the block by hand reminds me of .... me. 😁
Multi talented... that looked great. Keep the videos going. Love the content
Love construction! And learning new things
Hi, how are you... Thank you for your video... It helps us a lot to carry out this type of work... Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱 🇨🇱

You did great great job you are a brick layer man now
Inspiring work thank you so much!👍
Nice work bro love it ❤
The man is a superhuman first time

I would love to see how those concrete Blocks were made
Congratulations !
Winni when do you Clean the outside of the block of any excess mortar residue
I take a lot of advice from you! Thanks!!
Take it with a grain of salt! I’m still learning myself
What about the plumb ropes I see people use in other videos?
Great video what was that little buzzing tool Yiu had looked like a palm sander ?

I’m no master but from experience use the bottom of the trowel for the times you can’t spread the mud easily , it makes it way easier.
Im not even building a wall ... I watch it listen to the ASMR. 🤤
Great job!
Great job!! No fear!
Thank you so much!
I remember laying 12 inch solid concrete blocks, and only having a hammer and bolster to cut them.
Very heavy.
Not bad brother!!!🤙🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼
Good job 👍
Looks great 😊
How should I river rock over my acrylic tub??? Lol idk what to use

Good luck 👍

What is the name of the handheld saw you used to cut the cement??
Why no string line in place?
Super duper love it thanks
Congratulations 🎉
Great Great Video Thank You

Bad ass Brother!
Thank you so much
Is it correct to mix the concrete that wet?
Where is the insulation between the base and the first layer?
Is there rebar that ties the existing concrete perimeter footing ( in the background) to the new wall?
Yes I had a two pieces :)
How cold was it when you were laying it?
1.Learn to lay with your eye your level is good but in a time crunch it helps to be able to gauge and level with your eye practice that
Makes it easier, thank you
❤ good job

Good tip you cut the black. Thanks.
😅
nice -But only use your square on your first corse
May I hire you to build one for me?
Pls use more concrete stone cement steal in your homes in the states wooden houses are outdated
Bravo.
Thanks
Thanks !!
Bravo super
On a scale of 1/10 i give 4
Waw you have to pour concrete into those block that expensive
no enough morta for joints
Does not need to be filled out with more gravel concrete!! In my opinion!!
Bro why are pouring a concrete in that block holes, generally it’s not in that way.
So.......wtf were the mistakes we are supposed to learn from?
I’m with this guy. I missed the learning point.

You Don't Put Enough Mud Between The Blocks
Gyat daaam! What brand coffee you drinking?
Only cement And water without sand? This will break
I believe that mortar mix is already sand and portland cement mixed before bagging.
His sped up video is a seasoned bricklayers normal speed
way less, 200-300 units expected in 8 hr day
