- Welcome to the release of Flametal “REDUX”, the final record of our beloved Ben Woods. As you must know by now, Ben was a groundbreaking guitarist, composer and artist. Bringing together his metal roots and his love for flamenco, he was always fearless on his artistic journey. His swan song is certainly no different with stripped down, reimagined versions of his classics along with brave new compositions, which he kept writing to the very end.
Ben was an extraordinary person that touched everyone with his energy, positivity and generosity. May he continue to do so through his art for eternity.

I miss Ben deeply! There will never be another band member and brother like Ben. He was simply AMAZING in every sense of the word! I am very grateful and humbled to be in Flametal with him! Long live Ben Woods and his fabulous music.

I myself thought.of.this concept way back in 2003, then i found out there was already metal.flamenco mix,,,, same as Arabic metal came out with Nile, and now.many more...

In my opinion, he'll live on as the only person who could properly mix flamenco and metal. R.i.p. to a GOAT of the guitar scene.

The loss of Ben Woods is unfathomably tragic.... his music lives on thankfully.
Dammit, Ben Woods was the inspiration for me to grab the guitar again (must be honest, reason why I picked it up in the first place was Chopin, though), really sad to hear there will be no more content from him.
We enjoyed a lot of the same things. Thanks for the smiles, the laughs, and the tears Ben. One of the best online friends a person could ask for. The hardest part about leaving this message is thinking you won't see it.

Amazing. I feel so lucky to have one of the first nylocasters. It is one of my favorite musical possessions. Ben was an amazing guitarist and an inspiration. We miss you, brother.

I have enjoyed Ben’s music and videos for many years. His suffering and passing made me so sad, I stopped watching the videos and music for awhile. I was reluctant to listen to this new record at first, but I really enjoy it. It is beautiful. What a beautiful soul. Thank you for your teaching and your beautiful music. Rest in Peace.
I wish I got to see you one last time man. Love you brother. I remember you calling me to see you play a club in the U District and we hadnt seen each other in over 10-15 years. I got to the club right when your set ended and you came out of the club sweating and steaming in the night air and just had this glow of awesomeness about you. I knew you, you didnt recognize me. I just said "Hey fkr" The smile on your face is unforgettable. WIll miss floating rivers and camping man. Love you dude! Thanks to your new musical world friends for keeping you alive and pushing your new music. Very good ladies and dudes!

Each day, we are reminded of Ben's absence as we cherish the hand-drawn art and vast library of guitar techniques and talent he generously shared with us all. It's hard to shake off the disbelief that he's no longer with us.
